I use these a lot. 3lbs doesn''t sound like a lot of weight but trust me it is. I wanted to buy the 5lb ones but my husband convinced me otherwise. Good thing he did. Of course if you are use to weight lifting these may be too light.

I got these because I got the Jillian Michales 30 day shred and I knew I wouldn''t be able to use my 5lb weights. These are great, and the texture is great because it doesn''t slip around in your hands. Great little weights.

I like the color and size of these weights, and of course they seem to be pretty accurate in weight, but they are really uncomfortable to hold! It is not a smooth surface that you''ll be holding onto there is a large seam line on the weights, and you can see what looks like screws poking out.

These weights have a nice feel to them (more comfortable than vinyl, for the same price), but like the above reviewer said, they only work if you use them. 5-lb weights are very suitable for beginners to purchase. It may be heavy at first, but as you get stronger, 3-lbs will get too light. 5-lbs will also get the toning done, without bulking you up.
