Belt came as advertised. Some sort of oil had been applied to portions of the packaging that made the belt smell strongly.

I like the belt a lot. The smell of the belt is what I do not like. I am hoping the longer I keep it the smell will go away.

This belt is thinner than many "serious" lifting belts. But if you''re not going real heavy, it''s sufficient. I really like the color. But as other reviewers have mentioned, the stain (or something) the Pakistanis used has a terrible smell. I usually like the smell of new leather. But we''re talking toxic waste dump smell here. I rubbed talcum powder into the belt to leach the chemicals out, then scrubbed with a nylon brush to remove the powder. After about six times, it seemed to eliminate most of the smell. This probably wasn''t real good for the leather. So I used a leather cleaner/conditioner in an attempt to restore some moisture to leather. For the price, I''m happy with the belt. But it took a little work.
