Moving Comfort Women''s Cara Bra

I originally purchased this bra for routine workouts, but I loved it so much that I''m buying more for everyday use! My proportions are unusual: small ribcage (32") but large breasts (D cup, sometimes DD). Not only do I find this bra offers the support I need with great comfort, but it also gives me MUCH better lift and shape than any other bra I have come across. A pet peeve of mine with regard to most full-support bras is that they tend to place the breasts low on the torso, whereas I much prefer the look of a much higher lift. This bra offers high placement without having to deal with the discomfort of tight straps or the deep grooves they can leave in one''s shoulders.

In short, I love this bra!

I first found this bra in a Title Nine catalog and ordered one from there for a much higher price. It''s the only bra I''ve found that gives plenty of support without showing any seams or giving the torpedo look. The material is very airy, and it''s cut low enough in front to work great with v-neck tops. The band around the ribcage does tend to roll over if I slouch, but it''s not uncomfortable even then.

I''m a 36B, which means that I don''t need any heavy-duty compression with exercise (I''m a light jogger), and this bra is labeled as a "medium support bra," which I was fine with--I was just hoping to avoid the typical sports bra uni-boob. I''d read the negative reviews from others who brought this bra, in which they noted that the bra didn''t provide enough support--which made sense to me, once I saw the fabric in the bra cups, which consists of a fine and breathable mesh material...and my guess is that it wouldn''t do such a great job of keeping your nipples from showing through a t-shirt.

Anyway, I do think the bra is well-made, and this company is known for it''s quality products, but here''s my major complaint and advice to you regarding this bra: if you''re a size C cup or smaller, don''t bother (or those with C cups should consider the B cup), because the 36B bra that I purchased had huge, loose, silly cups...I put the thing on, and I started laughing at myself in the mirror. It was obvious that, in order for me to fill the bra cups, I needed to almost triple my cup size. Seriously. It was hilarious. I''d say that the only people who would benefit from this bra are those busty ladies looking for a basic, mildly supportive sports bra for the type of exercise that yields little-to-no boob bouncing--like on an elliptical machine, or slow-paced walking. Or perhaps for those busty ladies who don''t exercise at all, but just need a bit of lifting and separating...

I''m open to suggestions from anyone who actually wears a 36B (nothing bigger--there are plenty of bra reviews out there from those with larger cup sizes that I can refer to) and can advise on a sports bra that''s less than $50, does not lead to uni-boob, and actually provides at least medium support. I also think it would be great if Amazon came up with an option to search and read bra reviews based on your actual size...

I ordered this bra after much research. I especially liked that it came in the neutral latte color rather than just the usual white or black that most sports bras come in. I also like that it was cut lower, yet offered high impact support.

However, upon receipt I must say that I''m a little disappointed with it. The cups are too big (34C) and extremely THIN. Because of the cups, it just doesn''t seem that it would offer the support for high impact sports that it claims.

The bra seems to be well-constructed, so I may order the more expensive Fiona or Helena style and give them a try. I just really didn''t want to have to spend upwards of $60 for a sports bra!

Reading the reviews for this bra had me laughing out loud. The wildly-varying experiences women have been having with it offer a lot of evidence for why there are so very many different bra styles. Obviously, not every bra is going to work for every person.

For me, though, this bra was a great choice and I''m so glad I gave it a try. My workouts are low impact walking and rowing and this bra not only serves me well for those activities, it works perfectly for everyday as well. It provides the coverage I want, is incredibly all-day-long comfortable and does more to lift and separate than any bra I''ve worn in the last twenty years. Can''t beat the current Amazon price, either.
