Cathe Friedrich''s Body Blast Vol. 4--Timesaver 5-Day Rotation DVDI''ve done some workouts with Cathe on FitTv and decided to purchase a video (no commercials!) This is a great multi-use DVD which targets chest, triceps, biceps, shoulders, core, and legs. While Cathe uses barbells you can use dumbells at home for the same effect. She also uses a stability ball for core and some biceps. I use it for chest too.

The cardio workouts contain moves I havent seen with other workouts (Voight, Smith, Austin) so it was challenging to learn her routines but worth it in the end. These ARE NOT beginner level step/hi-lo workouts!

The workouts start with 20 minutes of cardio then 20 minutes or so of weight training, core, stretch/cool down.

Some interesting features of this CD are:

1. You can select an emphasis on music, vocals or an equal share of both. Music for those who are experienced, vocals for those learning, and equal share for the rest.

2. Workout Blender: Allows you to pre-select how you want the elements of each workout to be presented WITHOUT having to return to the menu and select the next routine. So you plug-in the routines (say cardio-weight train-cardio-weight train so forth) and hit PLAY! There''s also Mix n Match where you return to the menu and select a new workout by scrolling through the selections.

This is a great 5-day workout, few of the cardio routines are dupblicated through the week too so you get a relatively new workout every day. There are some challenging spots that she doesnt give a lot of time for you to learn so you have to rewind to get it right the first few times.

he weight training is appropriate for all levels w/ traditional workout moves with emphasis on core and stability, slow and fast movements.

This DVD has 5 different workouts, each one has a cardio workout followed by weights for 2 different muscle groups. By the end of the 5 workouts you''ve worked every muscle group. Similar to her Cross Train Xpress series but half the price, it''s a great value! The step choreography is not twirly or dancey, but if you''re new to step, try Cathe''s beginner step videos first, like Basic Step, to become familiar with her moves. (She does "Knees Around the World" in the warm up so if you don''t know how to do that you''ll be terribly frustrated.) I also LOVE that she uses some recognizable music with vocals, it makes the time fly by! This is a compilation of different segments from the Body Blast series, so you''ll see Cathe and her background crew in different outfits in each segment. Even the weight workouts are compiled from different workouts. So in workout 1, for example, when you do triceps, and more triceps, and more triceps, (Eeeek!) it is actually triceps segments from 3 different workouts edited together. This video has a huge variety, one DVD with step, hi/lo (floor aerobics), kickboxing, weights, different stretches at the end of the workouts, it''s just GREAT! They do some weight work with a barbell but all you need is dumbells. They also do a lot of their ab work on a stability ball.

Great workout but it would be easier to catch on if Cathe had someone doing the moves backwards or sideways. It''s hard to get some of the harder moves down when you are stepping the opposite direction. But using just the vocal option helped a lot with that. Overall, I would recommend this video.

First of all I have to say that Cathe is the BEST instructor out there. All of her workouts are great and they will definitely give you results!!!!! I reach for this DVD often as I don''t have much time on weekdays to do other Cathe''s DVDs that are usually over 1 hour long... This DVD is also perfect for beginners and intermediates...

I recommend Cathe 100%. If you want results then don''t look any further!
