The workouts on this video are good core workouts and the 1st in their three part series, so they are a medium workout for those who are already doing core, but a tough workout for those just starting. The DVD has a 15min workout, 16min workout, a 5min warm up, and a segment demonstrating all the beginner movements. Core exercise beginners may find they don''t initially have the full flexibility for some movements, like ''the bridge''. Though uncomfortable at first, I was able to achieve it after a few sessions and now its one of my favorites.

Even without the DVD, the foam roller itself is quality, with a hard,hollow plastic tube, surrounded by a foam grid of differing densities. I was using the thera-cane for trigger points on my legs and back, but to explore and relieve a wider region, this foam roller is great.

This foam roller is a bit pricey, but it is well made and it works very well. I originally purchased the product for my daughter to relieve cramping in her calves from competitive soccer. Most of her team ordered similar foam rollers for about $35 through the club speed and strength trainer. Her teammates preferred this one because the nubs were more pronounced and seemed to work better. I initially thought $50 for a foam roller was crazy. Having used it myself...wow, what an intense ''massage'' and relief. It works well on my legs and even my neck for tension headaches. The video is worthless after one viewing because this isn''t rocket science. Put the video on YouTube and knock off $10 to make this a 5-star deal.

I run a marathon a month and smaller races in between. I can''t afford a masseur so my foam roller is my personal massage therapist. I love it. It''s a little hard to use at first for some parts of the body, but the DVD is helpful. Also, you can find info online about how people use it. I highly recommend it....like it better than The Stick or any of the other massage tools though they all have their uses.

What a simple but effective and well produced product. The problem I''ve always had with foam rollers is that they start to indent over a period of time and/or are just too bulky. Utilizing a thicker, hollow core PVC-type tube helps maintain it''s rigidity and also allows for a place to stuff other gear or clothing if you plan on packing this up for traveling with the roller. This smaller version can fit easily into a duffel bag and the various indents on the surface allow you to choose two types of tactile pressure.

Although this may cost more than standard foam rollers if you use this religiously then it''s worth the investment versus the mileage you''d get out of the more disposable foam. The only advantage foam rollers have besides price is that you can purchase different densities based on firmness. This roller equates to a similar rigidity of the black Power Systems roller but with many of the exercises this can be manually adjusted by varying your technique and/or body position.

I had used the roller with my trainer to ease a knotted muscle in my back. It relieved the pain and tightness after about 5 minutes of use. I ordered one for my home use. It arrived as promised.
