Urban Rebounder Trampoline with Workout DVD & Stabilizing Bar

I am always amazed by reviewers such as the previous reviewer who feel compelled to write something under a product without actually having used it and without using their real name. I am a regular Amazon reviewer, and I take pride in the value of my reviews, and I have nothing but glowing positives to say about the Urban Rebounder. I am a marathoner, but after suffering from a meniscus injury earlier this year and undergoing surgery in late May, I have had difficulties getting back to pain-free running due to the high impact (my MRI also revealed that I had 2 types of tendonitis, so there is a lot going on in my little knee area!). I have tried multiple alternative workouts, but none provided me with the intensity I was used to and craved. Enter the Urban Rebounder. I purchased this item from Urbanrebounding.com (not Amazon), and along with the host of Urban Rebounding videos that I also purchased (including the URX-MT, 14-DVD program, which is incredible and as intense as it gets), I am no longer suffering from high-intensity exercise withdrawal! I love that the rebounder folds up for storage, but it is rather difficult to unfold yourself (you really need two people), so I keep it set up in my living room, and I find myself jumping on it just for fun while watching the Olympics a few extra calories burned is a good thing! I do not have the money to get a treadmill (nor would my knee like it very much right now), but I can see how the Urban Rebounding company claims this is a treadmill replacement, because you can "run" on it impact-free while watching your favorite TV show or movie. I do not know how the product holds up over time (mine is relatively new), but it seems very sturdy and high-quality, and I am hoping to have it for a long time. 5, well-deserved stars for a great workout option to protect your joints and work your heart.

The product was timely received but with a few problems. The first thing I noticed after opening the box is the smell. My plan was to keep it in the bedroom but couldn''t the first few nights due to the smell. The good news is that the smell does dissipate over time. Also, when unfolding the trampoline for the first time I noted that three of the springs were disconnected and had to be reattached. It required a vice grip and some tugging at them but I was able to get them reattached. At this point I started to screw on the legs only to find that two of the legs had not been machined properly and were too big such that they would not attach properly to the threaded posts. I called the manufacture''s toll free number to report the problem. The customer service rep I spoke with was professional and promised that I would received replacement legs within a week. True to their word I had them within five days and they worked. Like anyone I obviously don''t like having a problem with a product right out of the box, but when I do I like it when it is a "one and done" phone call to fix the problem. Since receipt of the replacement legs I have been using it daily. The trampoline seems sturdy and appears to be well made. The only thing I didn''t care for is the stabilizing bar which was wobbly so I''ve decided not to use it. Bottom line for me is that this is the third trampoline I''ve owned and beats, hands down, the first two which I purchased from national sporting goods chain stores both of which fell apart after only a few months of use. I''m only 135 lbs so it is definitely not me. Finally, I was going to give it just three stars because of the initial problems I had but good customer service from the company earned it another star.

I am a certified Group Fitness Instructor who has been teaching Urban Rebounding for years in some of NYC''s best-known gyms. I had the pleasure of testing out the new Elevated Urban Rebounder and I have to say it is a wonderful evolution of the Rebounding series. It takes what was already an excellent, non-impact cardio blast of a workout and amps it up to the next level offering a plethora of additional options beyond those offered by the original unit. Because of the elevation, you can use it almost as a step, and I look forward to teaching a ''step'' class on the Elevated Rebounder that will significantly reduce the jarring impact of using a traditional step. The beauty of the Elevated Rebounder is that it can also be set up flat like the Original Urban Rebounder and used with all of the original workouts. Kudos to the Urban Rebounding company for continuing to evolve!

The negative review here obviously came from someone who has some sort of bone to pick with one of the partners of the company, who simply made a request on his personal Facebook page (which has primarily fitness industry people as friends) to those who had experience with the product to share their reviews. It''s unfortunate that someone would go through the trouble to create an obviously false bad review when they have never used the product just to satisfy their personal issue or vendetta.

Looking forward to seeing the Elevated Urban Rebounder in the gyms! Let''s BOUNCE!!

(TOP 10 REVIEWER)(#1 Hall OF FAME REVIEWER)I''ve used this trampoline over the past several months during frequent visits to a friend''s house. What I''ve learned is that it *does* smell bad and the smell goes away after a while if you let it air out. The cover hasn''t ripped yet though I can see where it could with heavy use. Overall, it works, smells, and is as well constructed as the Variflex 38-Inch Mini Band Trampoline. It has the added benefit of a stabilizing bar, which I really like. The DVD is nice and I''ve seen similar workouts on the Web. I''ve found being able to elevate one side is not all that useful to me.

I have to question several of the 5-star reviews. Many were submitted over a period of a few days by customers who have written only few, if any, other reviews. That suggests they may have been the result of a campaign to improve the image of this product.

BTW, I feel that honest, effective reviews can take the place of first-hand experiences that are lacking in online shopping. I''ve always appreciated the help I''ve received from other reviewers and work hard to return the favor as best as I can. I became a fan of rebounding while working with seniors many years ago and then again about a year ago for it''s non impact cardio component. One week I had a serious hand injury which gets in the way of almost all other types of training. can''t hold onto weights, or put body weight on it. So when it came to some serious calorie burning, the rebounder was my answer. I like the elevated rebounder because I got to play in a childlike way on and off which makes it feel like fun more then a workout struggle. Plus Rebecca (in the dvd) is an inspiring person to learn from. As a life coach I also frequently listen to personal transformational and empowering books, speeches, etc. I was pleasantly surprised to hear a prominent coach recommend rebounding. It was a speech about achieving goals in life and he suggested the rebounder for not only fitness but the overall energetic benefits.
