Cathe Friedrich''s Shock Cardio: MMA Fusion DVDThis DVD is part of Cathe''s Shock Cardio series. This is one of my favorites from the series. I would categorize it as high intermediate more so than advanced. I''m an advanced exerciser and didn''t think the cardio part was super intense, but I felt really challenged by the core parts.

What I really enjoyed about this DVD:

**the unique cardio and core moves. This is one of 3 kickboxing-like DVDs in this series, yet Cathe manages to keep the moves fresh and new.

**the challenging core moves. I loved the triangle choke hold, the turtle rolls and kicking/extensions on your back.

**the efficient workout. I felt I got a good, solid workout in 50 minutes. I can always add on another workout on days when I feel like I want a longer workout.

This DVD is best suited for those who have some knowledge of kickboxing and core work, since Cathe doesn''t give a lot of form pointers, nor does she show many modifications. This suited me just fine, since I''m advanced, but others may not like this.

I didn''t mind the switching between standing cardio moves and lying down core moves. This might bother some people. Since my heart rate didn''t get super high during the cardio, this wasn''t an issue for me.

The music was okay; it was somewhat motivating. It was better than the music on some of the other DVDs in the Shock Cardio series.

I didn''t think the flash kick was that hard. This is the first move in the conditioning segment. Cathe gave a somewhat confusing description about it and I''m still not sure if this is part of traditional MMA or not. It''s no big deal, since I enjoyed the move.

Overall, I would highly recommend this DVD for anyone wanting a challenging and fun core/cardio workout.

I bought this DVD because I really like the MMA Kickbox DVD and watched clips of the DVD on You Tube. This is definately an awesome workout. I could barely breathe through some of it! The combos can be a little confusing at first but once I went through them a few times I was able to get them so don''t be put off by the initial difficulty. Your legs and glutes will be burning! I must say I''m very impressed at how good a workout it was. The variety of moves, drills and conditioning was good as well. Definately a great DVD.

The MMA fusion is one DVD I go for at least once a week. It''s a great workout for your waist and cardio fitness. Either do just the boxing and make it a no impact or do all for an interval workout to make it more intense. That is what I like about Cathe''s DVD''s she has options and I like lower inpact which you can do with just about any of her DVD''s

This is my first Cathe workout and it was fun, with moves Ive never done before but it didnt get my heart rate up that high. Im excited to try more of Cathe''s workouts, it sounds like they are much better then this one was. Turbo Jam was a lot more intense then this one and is a good alternative for those who are looking for high heart rates

I found this video to be a bit challenging just due your core being a must in most of the exercises. You will breath a little heavy. Overall it''s an ok video. I think though I would have purchased a regular step video since I like more moving. Lots of punching/kicking combos (about 30 minutes worth)& core work at the end.
