Xtrain: Cardio Blast Legs is just under 60 mins of leg bliss. No really .. bliss! You will warm up, then alternate either a floor plyo legs cardio blast (rounds 1-6) or a step bench plyo legs cardio blast (rounds 7-12). Each blast is around a minute, I would guess. Enough to get your heart rate up, but not enough to completely exhaust you (well .. by the end of the workout is a different story!) Following the blast is a weighted segment that focuses on legs: squats, pile squats, static lunges, reverse lunges, deadlifts, etc ... for a total of 16 reps, usually. No exercise is repeated in this workout, which keeps the fun factor up, and the brain engaged. By the time you reach the last round, you will be exhausted AND energized. Then you have a nice stretch.
Also included are bonus Core workout (ouch), the BURN set Bi''s workout, and 2 100-rep challenge segments (each about 7 mins): Scarecrows and hip thrusts. Then to put the icing on the clean eating cake, there are 20 premixes that use some or all of the extra''s and allow you to get your perfect workout to fit your time.
I''ve just completed this workout for the second time this morning, and it was definitely a blast. It doesn''t hold a dread factor .. and I don''t even want to try the straight Legs DVD because that would mean I''d be passing by this workout. This was my first Cathe Friedrich''s exercise video and I am very pleased with the workout. The first couple of times I tried the video, I became too winded to complete all the exercises. After a week, I am getting to the end. For me, the cardio exercises are harder than the weight exercises. At 60+, I am challenged by the routines, but not overwhelmed by the effort.
