Jerzees 973 8 oz 50/50 Sweatpants

Jerzees 50/50 Sweatpants - BLACK - X-LargeI was looking for some basic, no frills sweatpants to wear to the gym or around the house on those rare occasions when it gets cold in Houston, TX. After revewing a lot of sweatpants: with pockets, flared legs, stripes, hip hugger style (yikes!)and more, I finally found these. They are very comfortable and warm. They are of a medium weight with a draw-string waist and elastic at the ankles. In short, they''re perfect. I like them so much, I ordered another pair in a different color.

These sweat pants have elastic around the ankles and waist and they also have a string around the waist to adjust the fit. The color is outstanding and the material is lightweight yet durable.

I carefully checked the size in a pair of sweatpants from this company that i already have. I ordered the same size. When they arrived they are too tight. The company will only do exchanges. How do i know what size to order?

I am not very happy with the sweat pants. They pilled up after the first wash and the threading in the waist area started to come apart as well.

Smooth Fitness CE-3.6 Elliptical Trainer

Smooth Fitness CE-3.6 Elliptical TrainerI like my elliptical a lot. What I don''t like is the message I just got from Smooth, offering me a $20 gift certificate to write a positive review here on Amazon, plus an extra $5 to write one on their FaceBook page. What good are online reviews if they can be bought? So beware of positive reviews for Smooth products, they may well have been bought and paid for!

We did a lot of research before making this purchase. Although our first choice was the Precor that our gym has, its $5000 price was not what we had in mind. After researching online review sites, this Smooth CE-3.6 kept popping up with five stars & top rated.

Our biggest hesitation was that it was only sold online there was nowhere for us to actually get on one and try it out.

We took a chance, and based only on the glowing reviews, we ordered it.

Delivery was prompt & efficient they called in advance, set up a date and time, and arrived right on the dot.

The free shipping delivers into your door on the ground floor. The box is large and extremely heavy (it took 2 large delivery men with a dolly to get it off their truck and into our garage). I would strongly suggest that if you intend to have this machine end up on any other than your first floor, you either pay extra for in-place delivery or open the box downstairs and take the unassembled pieces upstairs separately. You''ll still have to manage the main base portion however, which is still very heavy and quite unwieldy.

The parts were packed very well, labeled and identified accurately, and instruction book very clear. Once unpacked, it took 1.5 hours to complete assembly, clean up, set in place and begin first workout. *** Although one person could assemble it alone, a second person is helpful one person to hold a large/heavy piece in place while the other person secures it.

The machine lives up to its name and is very smooth and quiet. The console is easy to operate and figure out even without the instruction book. The fan, which I did not think I would use, turns out to be a surprisingly nice bonus.

The 18" stride, and width and height of the moving handlebars are very comfortable for both me and my husband (5''4" & 6'').

If pressed to critique, I would wish for a book holder, and also critique the speakers which are quite tinny and not really worth using. We either hook up the iPod to speakers that are set up in the workout area or just use earbuds so the built in speakers aren''t important after all, we knew we weren''t purchasing a stereo.

Overall extremely happy and very satisfied with this. It''s a gym-quality machine that really does satisfy a workout at home when there''s not enough time for a trip to the gym.

* * * update June 2011 * * * Sometimes the best measure of a good company isn''t about how error free they are, but how they handle things when problems come up. I must say that Smooth Fitness gets five plus stars in this category. Two months after purchasing this machine, one of the foot pedal posts loosened from the wheel (this was an area that came pre-assembled).

One phone call and two days later all was repaired. Not only was the service rep efficient, but friendly and apologetic too. The locally contracted repair company that came out to do the repair was equally impressive.

Very, very reassuring that Smooth Fitness stands by their product, their warranty and treats their customers well both pre and post purchase.

* * * another update May 2012 * * * one of my foot pedal plates cracked. Still useable, but this machine came with a 5 year parts warranty and I figured it was worth a try to see if they really stand behind their product and their warranty. One phone call later and the part is on its way. Just more validation that we made the right choice in this purchase.

Well, this is our first elliptical, first fitness equipment of any-kind for that matter. We were looking long and hard in the $600 range, but saw that many models in that range had too much of a plastic feel. The smooth 3.6 does not feel cheap all, it is heavy and solidly built and backed by a very nice warranty. I think the warranty can tell you a lot about the company''s confidence in their product. This has lifetime on frame, 5 years on parts, 2 years on labor. It took us several hours to put it all together and when it was complete, it was indeed very smooth and easy to operate. The electronic console does not turn off, it just goes into standby, but I have one of those Bye Bye Standby BBSBUSA Energy Saving Kit remote controls, so I connected it to one and now I have a remote to turn on or off the elliptical. The instructions aren''t the best. When it came to the last part about installing the electronic console, I stood there scratching my head for quite sometime. Nothing you can''t figure out, but it was a bit annoying. Just remember that when it comes to screwing the Electronic Console onto the plate of the main frame, you will be using only 2 bolts, and these bolts were already screwed onto the back of the console, just unscrew them, then re-align the console to the plate with the holes and then re-screw. The instruction calls for 4 bolts with parts number "105." There aren''t 4 bolts, only 2 and "105" are not bolts on the parts list, "105" is the electronic console itself. I know this doesn''t make any sense right now, but if you buy this product, you''ll see what I mean. This was the only annoying thing in the whole process. I was looking for 4 dang bolts and never suspected the 2 that were already screwed onto the back of the console. Ultimately, I realize those 2 were it. I''m kind of curious why no one has mentioned this in all the previous reviews. If you are an owner of this machine and know something I don''t know, please comment. Otherwise, I stick by to saying the instructions on that part were a bit annoying. But I''m still giving a 5 stars because we like the final product a lot.

We decided to purchase this elliptical after reading some positive reviews. Knew that delivery was slow but did not realize that would also mean poor customer service. We had the machine for two months before it required some major servicing. We called and emailed the company, the machine is under warranty, no word back on when the machine will get serviced. This is totally unacceptable!

10 Minute Solution

10 Minute SolutionI really like some of the fitness options that utilize the wii, however, this is not one. To begin, you can choose a quick start option, custom workouts, or set up your own fitness plan. I went to custom workouts which require you to go through a training session before you ''play''. Quite honestly, this is not a fun game--it is slow, my movements do not read well, and I never raised my heart rate, much less broke a sweat.

You do have some choice of aerobic games (which have nothing to do with cardio boxing) as well as some core work.

I am not impressed with this ''game''. I would rather work out with a fitness DVD; at least it would be more effective.

I was disappointed with this game. I thought it would be a better workout like EA sports active. The music is poor, the moves are slow and too much stopping between sessions. Gold''s Gym is a better cardio boxing and GG records your movements better than this does. Maybe after I use it more and get through all the workouts I will like it better, but right now it is a disappointment

The game doesn''t track well with your movements, making it frustrating to use. Spend a little more and get the EA Sports Active-More Workouts--which is well worth the cost.

Read Best Reviews of 10 Minute Solution Here

As most people know, 10 Minute Solution is a highly popular set of DVDs where you can start and finish a complete exercise routine in 10 minutes. The DVDs each feature an attractive fitness expert on a mat demonstrating different aerobic workouts to you, shouting out instructions and encouragement each step of the way.

I''ll start off by saying that fans of the DVD series expecting a similar experience may be a little disappointed. 10 Minute Solution for Wii seemed to eschew the formula that made the DVDs so popular. Instead of an intimate one-on-one training session with an instructor, it feels like the standard kind of Wii fitness game we''ve seen before, where you just perform a series of repetitious actions with your balance board or Wii remotes to on-screen cues.

As with many games, there is an on-screen "instructor" who''s mainly a shadowy figure in the background, not an active instructor as in the videos. You can choose from "male or female" voices and even "helpful or bossy", but at the end there''s not much personality, just the standard repetitious "way to go!" type encouragement endemic to these kinds of games.

So I suspect that most of the negative reviews here are from fans of the 10 Minute Workout series who were expecting more of the "personality" of the DVD series comes to through in the game.

But having said that, I''ll be focusing my review of the game strictly on its merits as a fitness and exercise game. And in this area, it is a very solid title.

Much like My Fitness Coach, you can select a male or female trainer, music from a set list of generic tunes, and the environment you''ll be working out in (you can choose from a Chinese courtyard, Venice, a Japanese tea garden, a beach, a middle eastern palance, and a gym). The graphics are very well done, and I appreciate the subtle details that help keep the exercise interesting (such as a plane flying outside the window of your gym).

There are basically two different varieties of exercises you can do with your virtual trainer: cardio boxing or step aerobics. For each, you can choose from six different workouts ranging from simple (one star) to advanced (three stars). You''ll find the one-star exercises are far too easy; you hardly break a sweat. On the other hand, when I did the three-star exercises, I got a great aerobic workout, complete with sweating, increased heartrate, and a great feeling afterwards.

There is also a category called "mixed games" which allows you to control your on-screen character in one of four sports simulations: volleyball, badminton, catching a frisbee, or fighting with pugil sticks. As with games like EA Sports Active and The Biggest Loser, you''re not really playing the sport itself--you''re performing a series of cardio boxing or step aerobic moves, and if you hit the moves precisely your on-screen character performs the sports task.

Each exercise is precisely 5 minutes each, so you basically put together your own 10 minute workout each day by choosing two exercises from the sixteen choices.

Until now, Wii Fit has been the one step aerobics title that uses the balance board. This is one area where this game shines. The three-star step aerobics has you doing lunges, squats, and fast-moving splits that are far more complex and a faster pace than in Wii Fit, and all clearly demonstrated with animated footprints on a small image of the balance board.

As far as the boxing, the game has you doing crosses, hooks, jabs, and uppercuts at a really quick pace. As with Gold''s Gym Cardio, a series of icons will scroll upwards, and you need to perform the boxing move when the icon hits a little square. But it surpasses it in a couple ways: the three-star routines can be much more intensive than anything Gold''s Gym has, and unlike Gold''s Gym the beat of the music actually matches your punching (what a concept!). I also like the fact that you can use two Wii remotes instead of a nunchuk--this makes your movements much, much more accurately. I''ve read that a lot of people are having trouble registering the moves, but as long as I''ve used two Wii remotes and made broad, exagerrated movements, I haven''t had a problem.

One of the things I like most about this game is its simplicity. A lot of other games try to stuff in a bunch of fillers and nonsense, such as recipes and dressing up the on-screen characters, all to justify a higher price tag. With 10 Minute Solution for Wii you have three choices from the startup screen: an instant workout (which picks a 5-minute workout for you randomly), a custom workout (where you can pick and choose two 5-minute workouts to make one 10-minute workout), and a fitness plan (where you can mix and match activities for each day of the week for anywhere from a 5-minute to a 30-minute workout each day). I applaud Activision for not being tempted to stuff gimmicks in, and for making the list price a very affordable $19.99.

Again, be sure to go in with the right expectations: it''s not like the DVD series, and it''s not a $59.99 game. As long as you don''t compare it to either of those, you have a pretty solid and very affordable Wii fitness game to add some variety to your workout routines.

NEW INFORMATION: I just learned that Activision has set up a YouTube channel at which features cover model and fitness guru Jessica Smith demonstrating the proper form for the types of exercises in the game. To me, this is what the game was missing. If you do get the game, watching these videos is highly recommended.

I was very excited when I saw the preview for this game... The price was right too. I popped it in and noticed the graphics are a bit well, cheap. I started my first work out of step aerobics and really enjoyed it. Then it moved on to cardio boxing. What a clunky, poorly made game. It barely recognized moves, and if you don''t do a move correctly during the demonstration it makes you do it over and over and over and over and over againuntil the game feels you''ve done it properly...which would be fine if I was actually doing the move incorrectlybut againthe game doesn''t recognize movement the way it should. I figured I would just do the step which is what I got it for anyway...yeah..how I wish.. It has a "squat" move in it which for whatever reason it doesn''t think I do it right, it''s a squat.. I''ve done it on the wii board, off the wii board..it doesn''t care..refuses to recognize that I''ve done it. I''m done with this game, It''s going on Ebay tomorrow. I''d rather do the boring step aerobic "class" & cardio boxing on EA Sports and Wii Fit Plus for 20 minutes.. the graphics, music and recognition is far better.

This game does have a lot of potential..they need to do a lot more work on it..

CycleOps Jet Fluid Pro Winter Training Kit

CycleOps Jet Fluid Pro Winter Training KitI bought this from the advice of a friend that is a pro cyclist.

Very quite and easy to set up! Having never used a trainer before I was a little apprehensive. The set-up took all of 2-5 minutes. Easy!

Much more of workout than I would have thought! I watch movies on the computer while spinning in the morning and weekends.

I feel that I got my money''s worth!

I live in Minnesota and have been using this for a couple months now on-and-off if it''s cold out or extremely windy, I''ll just bike on the Cycleops in my office and get a great workout. I have had two different bikes on it (Scott Metrix 30 and Scott CR1 Comp) and both performed superbly. I would recommend using the quick-release skewer that comes with the kit it''s a perfect fit for the Pro. Highly recommend using the climbing block not necessarily for uphill-simulation, but more for bike stability. It''s pretty stable either way, but the block sure helps hold the bike secure.

Good: Easy to get the bike on and off I can literally do it in 10 seconds. The initial setup isn''t even that difficult. Feels very realistic.

Bad: It is a noisy bugger. I can''t hear my laptop speakers over it, but that''s all right. I don''t take away any stars for this because I believe in function over form, and this device functions great.

Bottom Line: If you are looking for a good way to bike when the weather outside won''t let you, I would highly recommend this product!!

Purchased this as a B-day present for my wife. Our long cold winters do not allow for year-round road riding and we were looking for an alternative to spinning at the gym. I researched several different styles of trainers as well as companies.

Cycleops carries a great name and lives up to it.

I bought the winter training kit to get the 2 climbing blocks, mat, and bike thong thrown in with the trainer. Setup took all of 5 minutes. Bike mounting is equally easy. We each have a road bike so I did go out and buy an extra rear wheel skewer so all we have to do is switch the bikes out which takes 30 seconds.

The road feel of the Cycleops Fluid trainer is outstanding. No spin bike or stationary gym bike can beat its realism for road like ride. Alan Lim from Team Radioshack did his homework when he helped design this machine. It also allows you to ride your own bike which fits better than even the most adjustable setup at the gym.

We have only owned it for 1 month but have each already logged some decent miles. Very pleased with the purchase and the shop it came from. Also, 1 of the climbing blocks was cracked, we emailed Cycleops and they fed-ex''ed a replacement within 48 hrs. Great customer service.

I found it set up easily with my CAAD 8 and CAAD 10, the included skewer goes in with no problem. The finish is as pretty as the bikes themselves and everything comes nice and neat in one box.

The climbing blocks and floor mat are great and left no residue on my floors.

The trainer itself sets up very easily, just set the legs, set the distance with that big yellow lever and get on and start riding.

I''ve done about 300 miles on it and it works as the same as the day I bought it. It''s not too noisy and the DVD is good if you''re the type to get bored on indoor trainers.

If you live in an apartment expect to hear some complaints as this will send some vibrations through the floor resulting in a humming noise for the people below you and I find putting something under the trainer helps that greatly.

Pros:

Fast setup and break down,

Looks great

comes with everything you could possibly need

smooth operation

excellent resistance

climbing blocks and DVD add some diversity to the workout.

Cons:

noise not suitable for apartments but much quieter than most other trainers. Just turn up the TV

Simple to set up, exceptionally well made unit. Made in USA. Most realistic riding experience I''ve found on an indoor roller. The accessories in the winter kit are a must-have, especially the riser block and rubber floor mat.

Kelly Coffey-Meyer''s 30-Minutes to Fitness "Cardio Quick Fix"

Kelly Coffey-Meyer''s 30-Minutes to Fitness ''Cardio Quick Fix''(#1 Hall OF FAME REVIEWER)NOTE: I received a free review copy of this DVD from the instructor.

Kelly Coffey-Meyer has become perhaps my very favorite instructor. Not only does she now teach in the town where I grow up, but also she''s about my same age (mid-40s), and I just really click with her low-key, down-to-earth style. That being said, I DON''T always click with all of Kelly''s workouts, nor do I own all of her DVDs. Furthermore, I''m not a huge fan of cardio. However, after I saw the clips of CARDIO QUICK FIX, I thought it looked like fun, and I was interested in trying the DVD.

Kelly works out here with two of her usual background exercisers, Sam and Lori, plus a new modifier, Noelle. The Main Menu offers options for Introduction Workout 1 Workout 2 Bonus Abs/Hips & Glutes Premixes and a Music On/Off option. (I found the music to be fun; it''s mostly vocal and very upbeat.) Other than an optional mat for the Bonus segment, no equipment is necessary for these workouts. I have broken down each in detail below.

WORKOUT 1

This workout starts with an approximately 5-minute warm-up. Kelly runs through moves such as marches, heels front, squats right and left, toe taps, front cross, knee hops, and body lifts. She does not do any stretches. She then moves right into the cardio portion of the workout. This basically consists of two long sequences--e.g., she teaches a series of moves in add-on fashion, running through this several times, then moves on to the second series. The first sequence is significantly longer than the second at about 10 minutes. Moves include marches, hip dips to either side, body lifts, insole taps (adding a bit of impact), shuffle with arms in/out, step/grapevine with jab/cross and flurry, and a softball pitch and catch. Although Kelly does repeat the sequence (a.k.a. "take it from the top"), I found the moves to be fun, different, and engaging. The second series is shorter at about 6 minutes. Here the moves are more standard--e.g., side shuffle, jog, 3-knee repeater, step heel, jump rope, side-to-side, and curtsey push--but Kelly ups the intensity with a bit more impact. At the conclusion of this workout, Kelly moves quickly through approximately 2 minutes of all-standing stretches, bringing the total workout time in right around 25 minutes.

WORKOUT #2

For this 29.5 minute workout, Kelly ups the intensity somewhat by performing higher impact drills. (Viewers always have the option of staying low impact with Noelle.) Following the same warm-up as Workout #1, there are an additional few minutes of low-intensity moves (e.g., squats right-left, marches, jogs) which feel like sort of an extended warm-up. Kelly then begins the drills. She starts with a lower impact move, then she switches over to a more intense version of this move for about 30 seconds. The movement pairs included marches to jogs, pop squat knee lifts to knee pops, side-to-side steps to skaters, elbow smash to elbow smash with hop, bob & weave to front punch with side leg lift, jacks to jack with jump, side-to-side step to chasse with floor touch, squat to squat pop, and back lunge to squat. As usual, Kelly finishes with a quick (

Cathe Friedrich''s Body Blast: Kick, Punch & Crunch and Legs & Glutes DVD

Cathe Friedrich''s Body Blast: Kick, Punch & Crunch and Legs & Glutes DVDI don''t have the combined DVD, but just the Kick, Punch and Crunch VHS, but I thought I''d write a review anyway since that is on this combined DVD. I''ve been avidly working out to advanced Taebo videos for well over a year now and thoroughly enjoy them; however, I''ve been feeling a little burnt out with them lately so I decided to try and find something that would compare to them. I''ve read lots of great reviews on Cathe Friedrich''s videos so I decided to see about getting one. Luckily for me, they were doing a clearance on some of her VHS''s on her website so I purchased this one. All I have to say is WOW! I have never been so challenged in all of my life. It wasn''t a very hard to follow workout and I picked up on all of the moves since I knew them already from Taebo, but the intensity on this is overwhelming. I made it through the whole video and was drenched in sweat. I felt great because I did the whole thing, but I was sore for the next two days. I definitely worked muscles that apparently had been hibernating. If you''re looking for an intense workout or a change from an already intense workout, buy this video!

(#1 Hall OF FAME REVIEWER)On this DVD, master instructor Cathe Friedrich offers two workouts from her Body Blast series: Kick, Punch & Crunch (KPC), a cardio kickboxing workout, and Legs & Glutes (L&G), a lower body focused strength training workout. Both workouts are excellent, but what really makes this DVD so valuable is the wide variety of customization options as described below.

I previously owned an edited, FitTV version of KPC on VHS, but I had no idea how much I was missing by not having the full workout. KPC is a 68-minute workout that combines intense kickboxing drills with choreographed kickboxing combinations and a great abs segment. The 7-minute warm-up introduces all of the punches and kicks used in the workout and gradually picks up the pace. Next comes 7 minutes of fun, intermediate intensity drills before moving on to another 18 minutes or so of high intensity drills (including some high impact work). After a brief cool-down, Cathe starts the first of three kickboxing combinations, all of which combine punches and kicks (21 minutes total). Finally, there is a 7-minute abs section using a stability ball and a nice 5-minute cool-down. This workout is an intense high intermediate/low advanced level, although knowledgeable exercises could modify down (no modifications are shown).

Legs & Glutes is a 51 minute lower body routine. Unlike many of Cathe''s workouts, it does not use a barbell, so you can get by with more minimal equipment: dumbbells, a high step (or sturdy bench), and an optional stick for balance. After a 3 1/2 minute traditional aerobic warm-up, Cathe moves into standing leg work including leg press, squats, lunges, plies, explosive (jumping) plies, drop squats, 1-legged dead lifts, plie squats, and explosive lunges. At about the 25 minute mark, she adds ankle weights for addition standing exercises such squats with side leg abduction, calf work, standing quad work, and abductor work. Moving to the floor, Cathe continues for an additional 11 minutes, first working the hamstrings with pelvic tucks and leg lifts on all fours, then targeting the outer and inner thighs from a side-lying position. This workout finishes with a nice 5-minute stretch focused on the lower body.

As mentioned above, the best thing about this DVD is the wide variety of custom options. The menus for both KPC and L&G including options for playing the entire workout, viewing the chapter selections, and mixing and matching chapters. In addition, each workout offers "Quick Select Premixes" which provide both shorter and longer workout options. For KPC, there are 7 premixes ranging in length from 27-53 minutes, and for L&G, there are 6 premixes ranging from 11-79 minutes and including all standing/all floor options. There are also an additional 7 premixes which combine segments from the two workouts; these run from 37-53 minutes. Finally, there is a "Workout Blender" option which allows you to create your own custom workout by selecting chapters from either KPC or L&G.

If you are familiar with Cathe, you know that she often incorporates upbeat, recognizable music (selections here include "Walking in Memphis," "Band of Gold," and "You Spin Me Round"). These are fun, energetic workouts which will provide you with endless variety and options--highly recommended!!!

I recommend this DVD to anyone who needs a challenge and wants to take their workouts to the next level. I never get bored with this Cathe DVD (or any of her others for that matter), and the ability to mix & match different segments is great for days when you''re maybe short on time just do the cardio portion or just do the kick & punch drills, etc. But most days I do the entire DVD but not two days in a row. It can be tough on the knees if you don''t use proper form or if you do this DVD too many times per week.

Ok, now go ahead, buy this DVD now!! You won''t regret it!

If you''ve never tried a Cathe workout, this is a good place to start. The 2 workouts here are just a perfect example of her workout style.

In Kick,Punch, and Crunch, you will have a kickin'' good time (get it?) You will start with intermediate drills and quickly step up to advanced drills (you can keep them low-impact, though, with a few modifications.) The workouts don''t take a load of space, so they can work in my small workout area just fine. Then you get a short breather before you move into the combos of punching and kicking. Lots of premix options to shorten up the time if you need.

Legs and Glutes is a fantastic all around leg workout. You get to work with standing weighted exercises first, then some standing leg lifts. Finally you end up on the floor (and boy are you glad to be there!) for some floorwork. It''s solid .. and those round of propulsions lunges will work you hard with no weights.

I saw/dvr this workout on FitTV, and I simply loved it, but I''ve learned something about Cathe workouts, you have to get the DVDs, cause they not only include the workout and usually a more complete one, but a lot of options to modify it, something I didn''t get on others I have.

42 bucks might look a bit expensive, but this DVD is worth every penny, the KPC workout is very intense, and Cathe as usual providing perfect and very challenging content.

I highly recommend this DVD to anyone who have the KPC workout from FitTV, you''ll be surprised how much you were missing.

Brooks Men''s Infiniti Notch II Short

Brooks Men''s Infiniti Notch Short II,Anthracite/Rio Red,X-LargeSeriously great shorts. Ran 120 miles in Rockies over a six-day stage race. Good price for what you get. No chafing. No worries.

Running shorts without the boxer brief risks the potential of chafing. The Brooks Infiniti Notch Short II eliminates that problem with a comfortably fitting, lightweight, breathable boxer brief 2-in-1.

The outer short is the perfect length for long distances, causing virtually no resistance and allowing free movement. As a man with large thighs, I appreciate the fact that these shorts never cling or bunch (5" inseam). An additional not-so-small benefit for those of us who start runs at the wee hours of the A.M. is the 360 degree reflective Scotchlite trimming. The elastic waist provides very minimal security; the drawstring is necessary 100% of the time.

As for the internal boxer brief, it''s not quite spandex and not loose either (4.5" inseam). I believe the term is "semi-fitted." What I call it is perfection. Some sort of voodoo prevents it from ever bunching up in the groin area. The mesh construction is where the genius comes into play, as all the sweat and moisture just seems to disappear while the air flows freely.

The one negative I have for the shorts is that I would prefer larger holster pockets. Two gel packets fit comfortably in each pocket, but stuff in three packets and the velcro might not reach. So, in other words, perfect for a mortal running a half-marathon, maybe a stretch for the average marathon runner who needs multiple refueling opportunities.

Overall, the best running short I''ve ever worn. I bought one pair, loved them so much, bought 5 more pair. Worth every cent.

Buy Brooks Men''s Infiniti Notch II Short Now

If you are a man and you find yourself in need of running shorts, do yourself a favor and buy these.

The liner is perfect in every way and almost feels like nothing with the right amount of something there. The outer is amazingly light, non-restrictive, and strikes the right balance between functionally short and embarrassingly short.

The side pockets are perfect for snacks and the internal key pocket is secure. The only thing I wish for is a pocket large enough for a phone that wouldn''t pop open on the trail. Putting my phone in my handheld fixes this and so does sewing on a hook and eye closure, if you''re handy.

I have worn these for hours, on trail, on road. Nary a problem. I regret they aren''t business casual or I would wear them to work.

The inner liner is the best. All others are just a mesh lining, this is truly supportive and great rash guard.

My wife are just starting back into exercising daily, mainly walking and running. I''ve tried many different types and brands of shorts, but most of them chaffed my thighs or rode up during my runs. These Brooks shorts were the answer. The boxer brief lining is perfect for me and eliminated the issues I encountered with my other shorts. I really appreciate the 5" inseam for us guys who aren''t 6''3" and don''t want shorts at the top of our knee. These dry very quickly and provide that ''air flow and freedom comfort in the crotch'' that I enjoy while exercising. I just bought 4 more pairs for all of our weekly runs. Great shorts, don''t hesitate.

I purchased 2 pairs for my wife to try as well and now she''s hooked. If you''re like me I really don''t care about color, so search for your size among all colors and save some dough.

TRX Performance: Train Like the Pros

TRX Performance: Train Like the ProsI''ve been using TRX for a year and like the instructor led video as an alternative to doing my own routines. This is easy to follow and has a few new exercises for me. There are plenty of intensity options, so I can vary the workout depending on how much I want to push.

This video, in particular, has more super setting and exercise integration than some of the others I''ve seen.

I started using TRX at our health club and wanted some effective workout routines. The routines on the DVD were easy to follow and I take the booklet to the health club as a reminder on proper technique.

Total Conditioning on the Foam Roller DVD

Total Conditioning on the Foam Roller DVDI''ve had this video for about a month now, and I''m still trying to decide if I like it. It''s definitely not what I expected--I expected a lot more stretching exercises, and this video does more of massage-type exercises. While the word "massage" conjures images of a relaxing, stress-reducing experience, the Foam Roller workout experience is painful! The instructor does say that some of the exercises will be or may be uncomfortable (or something similar adjective), and the discomfort is caused by tightness or "knots" in the muscle; however, I was experiencing so much discomfort that I expected to wake up bruised the next day! My husband tried the exercises (both he and I work out daily) and he, too, felt like he was going to be bruised afterward.

On the plus side, the video does provide a good balance-type workout as you work to keep yourself on top of the roller during the exercises.

Men''s UA Escape 9" Running Shorts Bottoms by Under Armour

Men''s UA Escape 9I am a tall guy and absolutely hate wearing the "short" (6" or less) running shorts. These under-armour running shorts are the perfect length and material is light and quick to wick away any moisture. The shorts also have a very comfortable liner inside.

I personally own about 4 of these shorts and would recommend it everyone.

Original and top quality is not a fake and fitting very good if you choose a correct fit size, lightweight

I am debating whether or not to give 5 stars... Under Armour runs small in sizes, so just remember to get a size bigger than normal in everything. Overall, well made, definitely will buy more (this is my first pair of UA shorts), just need a size up (a little snug).

Good purchase, I love the Under Armour material. Good for running, biking, lifting, just about anything. Seller (Road Runner Sports) was a bit lax in contacting me after it got backordered, and it didn''t make it in by Christmas. But the shorts were good.

Proform 560 Crosstrainer Treadmill

Proform 560 Crosstrainer TreadmillI just put my Proform 560 together and so far it is a very good treadmill.

It is definitely quiet and runs smoothly. You can walk and run on it and it does not make a lot of rambling as much as other cheaper treadmills. My workout was for 30 mins with no problems. The programs to operate are really self-explanatory and manageable. I was very nervous about damages and missing parts, but all of the equipment was in the box and functioning appropriately. As for assembling the treadmill, everything was very easy. It took me and my father a little over 1hr to get everything completed. Actually the belt and the monitor was already together when we pulled it out of the box; the treadmill folds up which is how it came out of the box. I''m glad I can fold it to take up less space. So the only thing we had to do was place the handles on and the smaller accessories that were to be attached to the treadmill. Overall, I made a very good choice on this machine, plus I did get it for a very reasonable price at Academy for only 499.00. This so far is a definite keeper.

Worked well while it lasted. No problems with motor, incline, and belt. However, the deck broke after two years of constant use, and I weigh far less than their max weight. I had hoped to get more than two years of use out of it...

JumpSnap, The Ropeless Jump Rope - Calorie Counter, (4) Cardio Pumping DVD Workouts & Hand Weights

JumpSnap, The Ropeless Jump Rope - Calorie Counter, Cardio Pumping DVD Workouts & Hand WeightsI first saw this product advertised on my morning news as great exercise equipment you should have that you may not know about. I remember loving to jump rope when I was young, so I went to the site, liked what I saw and decided to give it a try. The unit comes with the two hand units one with the display and the other without, 3 weights for each hand unit, batteries so you can get going right away and two DVD''s one covering basic information and tips, the beginner and intermediate training and the second was a more advanced program.

The beginner training is 8 minutes long, broken into 2 minute sessions with a water break between sessions. The instructor is very good and I''m impressed that she is still able to clearly speak after 8 minutes. The 12 minute intermediate training kicks it up a notch from that. I briefly viewed the Jam DVD and decided to concentrate on the other two first.

Pro: As with any jump rope, you don''t really have to work out for great lengths of time to benefit. I like to jump during commercials rather than follow the DVD''s and I my endurance is getting much better. Once you get the hang of it, it''s easy to use and there is no rope to trip over. It''s small and the weights and units fit in a nice little bag that I carry around with me.

Cons: This is not a complaint against the product, but an obvious statement that this is an impact form of exercise. I have had knee surgery (and I''m a klutz), so I take all exercise like this very slowly to prevent further injury to my body. I protected my knee when I started by using my rebounder or my rebound boots, now I can jump in my tennis shoes without any problem just keep it low.

I also want to comment on how great their customer support has been. I had misread the directions and was using the equipment incorrectly. I contacted them and within 3 days they had sent out a new unit with a return mailing form so I could return the ''defective'' unit. Even the president and creator of the company has been in touch with me you really can''t beat that level of care. It shows that they not only have a firm belief in their product, but that they want to make sure anyone using it is as please with it as they are. I already loved the product so it was easy to talk about, but that is also a major selling point as far as I''m concerned.

I ordered the JumpSnap directly from the website, not from Amazon. I gave it a go for about 2 weeks and finally decided to return the product to receive my cheerfully refunded money back, plus shipping and handling. Two months later, I''m still waiting for my refund to show up on my credit card.

The JumpSnap itself is very well built and sturdy. There are two handles, one of which has the LCD display that helps to track calories burned, rotations of the "rope," elapsed time, and a beeper to let you know when your workout is over (if you wish to use this feature). It has a "snap" audio feature to make it sound like you are actually jumping rope. This can be turned on or off. There are removable weights that can be inserted in the ends of the handles (I never used them). The handles are rather bulky, though, so I wished that there would have been a smaller-handle option when purchasing the JumpSnap. However, overall the JumpSnap is a quality well-made product. So why the low rating?

If you look at the picture of the JumpSnap, you''ll notice the ends of the handles have weighted blue balls attached to a short string to simulate the jumping rope action. They worked great as long as you are perfectly rotating the handles. If you break rhythm, change hand position, or stop, the balls will whack you in the hand. It stings! If you do a web search on this product, this seems to be a common problem with other users too.

The beginner and intermediate DVD workouts that come with the JumpSnap are incomplete. For the price of the product, I expected a complete workout including warm up, cool down, and stretching. Jumping rope is very strenuous, and properly warming up and stretching are crucial. Nowhere in the DVD intro or workouts is this fact mentioned. At the beginning of each workout, you go right into jumping. No gradual warm up. Not smart. At the end of the workout, you just stop. You should never just stop cold after an aerobic workout, especially an intense one like this! What do runners do after running? They walk around to cool down and bring their heart rates back to normal. Cooling down is VERY important, and again, nowhere on the DVD is this mentioned. Beginners or those new to jumping rope should be aware of this.

There is a separate 15-minute "Jam" DVD that features a large group of people doing an extended workout with the JumpSnap. Again, it is another incomplete workout due to the lack of warm up, cool down, and stretching. Since this workout was filmed in what looked to be a huge entryway into a museum or hall or something, the echoes from the instructor shouting instructions were annoying. Because of the echo-ey sound quality, the whole workout felt like I was being yelled at the entire time.

Tressa Campbell, the lead in the workouts, apparently uses the JumpSnap at her gym in a circuit-style class. It would have been great to have a circuit workout on the DVD that incorporated the JumpSnap. Not absolutely necessary, but for the price you are paying for the product, including another workout that you could grow with would be a fantastic idea.

Basically, with improvements made to the product, it would become a 5-star piece of fitness equipment. I think in the inventor''s (Brad LaTour''s) hurry to market the JumpSnap, he neglected to give it an extended test trial to iron out some problems and get some constructive feedback. Work definitely needs to be done on the handle design, and some thought should be given to improving the workouts, making them safer and more complete.

Just getting started using the JumpSnap. Very easy to use as far as putting in the time, weight etc. I''m having a little trouble matching the clicks with my jumps; I jump more than it clicks. But it does get me off my duff and doing something and it''s a big reward to see how many jumps I did and how many calories I burned in my allotted time. My aim was to do a lot of cardio in a short amount of time and it definitely does that. I''m very satisfied with the product.

I bought jumpsnap about two weeks ago and it has burned fat off my body which I have not been able to budge for years.I have logged hours on the treadmill for years to no avail, I have lifted weights which helped somewhat but after jumpsnapping for only one week about 15 miinutes a day, my clothes are falling off and fat is melting from everywhere. Mind you, I am 55 years old so fat-burning has been practically impossible... until I bought and started using junpsnap!Another plus, I had trouble with my CD''s so I sent an email of the the details of my problem to the owner-inventer of this miracle work-out tool and he promptly rectifed the situation which is refreshing ...A great work-out tool that delivers even more than it promises.Another big plus....my dog and cats do not get snapped by a rope ... there is no rope so they can practically sit at my feet and watch me work-out without getting hurt.

I really don''t know why people are placing "cons" for this product that have more to do with the effects of exercise as opposed to the actual product, but, I guess people will always have something to complain about.

I bought this as I love to jump rope, but unless you have a yard or a huge room to jump, it''s just not feasible. So I bought these. I have to say, they''re darn good!! I''ve read a few comments about the balls hitting you if you change rhythm or something...I''ve used them for three days straight, using the video, just jumping for 10 mins, etc., and I have never, ever had the balls somehow whack me in the hands, head, arms, etc. If you have any awareness of your body, you have no worries about anything hitting you. I haven''t used the electronic features yet, as I''m more into just setting a timer and jumping for 10-15 mins at a time as opposed to knowing the number of jumps, etc. But they seem like a good feature if you''re into that sort of thing.

Bottom line, if you like to jump rope, or want to start because it''s a great way to become cardiovascularly fit, this is an excellent product to get you on your way. Oh, and the DVD is pretty good; the beginner routine is 8 mins split up in (4) 2 min intervals with water breaks in between. I used this when I first got it and it definitely gets your heart pumping.

So, don''t worry about balls flying, the handles being too big, electronics being too light, etc...this is a great product that delivers results.

GoFit 20-Pound Blue Kettlebell with Vinyl Coating, Training DVD and Exercise Booklet

GoFit 20-Pound Blue Kettlebell with Vinyl Coating, Training DVD and Exercise BookletQuite a few people give their own personal experience when getting these bells so you do need to pay attention to what weight accurately fits your strength. It is interesting to hear others experiences. In a book, one might read a male who is of average strength can start out with 36 pounds! I must be really weak, I sometimes need to use my 15 lb. kettlebell but the 20 pounder is what I prefer and I can see possibly moving up from that in time. The whole thing is a good exercise for the entire body and one''s agility.

Find the right weight. I agree, it really can be a portable gym to work on where ever you are. The booklet likewise is helpful to get you started on basics. I''m not sure how brands compare but the gofit KBs are sturdy with the fine vinyl coating which I''d think are good on carpet.

I own several of these now in various sizes. I initially purchased mostly the GoFit brand, but lately I''ve been buying the First Place kettlebells by Peform Better. I still use my GoFit 20-pounder for high-rep snatches, core pullovers, and russian twists. (I will gradually increase my weight for the snatch.) The kettlebell is my favorite exercise tool. I can''t get enough of the routines. I primarily do swings, presses and high pulls as well as several other exercises with my 12 kg (26 pounds), 16 kg (35 pounds), and 20 kg (44 pounds) kettlebells. They are so much fun!!! Also, you cannot beat the results. I''ve lost 11.5 pounds this year and at least seven percent of my body fat. (I started using kettlebells in January 2009.) I''m working on cleaning up my diet more so I can look and feel even better.

I''m glad I discovered these in my early 40''s. I will use them for the rest of my life.

Buy GoFit 20-Pound Blue Kettlebell with Vinyl Coating, Training DVD and Exercise Booklet Now

Everything that you have been promised in exercise equipment in one small package. Don''t let the simplicity of this item mislead you. The Kettlebell really does work the full body. Not only in the obvious way of lifting and swinging but working muscles other devices don''t get as close to. The benefits are: an increase in core and limb strength, flexibility and a full aerobic workout. And you only need one!

The offset design of the kettlebell requires use of smaller supporting muscles that stablize the limbs and body. Try it and you''ll feel the difference immediately. You''ll also develop a real respect for what it does and the effort it gets from you.

The accompanying DVD is very clear and professionally produced. It''s all you need to get a good start. Again, don''t be misled, the 34 min. running time works you through every step of the beginning exercises that will keep you working for a couple weeks to get proficient. By then you will have noticed increased muscle tone, stamina and strength.

A word about quality. I''ve compared makes and this is the best. The smooth metal handle is easy on your hands and a perfect size grip. The dipped vinyl covering is attactively colored and easy on the floor, furniture, kids, whatever. It''s almost decorator styled. Cool!

This is a great value for your body and wallet.
