There are illustrated instructions on using Indian clubs on the internet. Even a booklet that was published over a hundred years ago around the time of the Civil War. These are very helpful but it really is good to see someone explain it and the instructor is very understandable. Indian Clubs use to be a real big deal in the USA as we even medalled in it when it was an Olympic competition (it has only been an event in around 2 Olympics, sometimes called "Club Swinging"). People from Egypt, India, instantly recognize Indian Club/Club swinging. I have gone on a bit offtopic here, however it is important that, like Kettlebells, people could get a general understanding of the Clubs. You can get a good workout from these 2 lbs. clubs. I really am not aware of the exact weights as one reviewer writes of. I would hope they would be accurate in weight, though no matter what, I think they are helpful. I practice sometimes at home and when in a small room, I make the club movements with my arms and hands but without the Club. And then, outside or other places, I can practice with the clubs. They are a fine exercise tool to have around. Most people can not start off with heavy clubs. These are good to learn the ropes with.

I have several pairs of both the 1 and 2 pound Indian clubs. I have used them for over a year, both indoor and outside. I also have nine students in my class who have the same clubs. They have held up very well, are uniformly shaped and well made. I have found that many people really get into using the clubs regularly and receive wonderful benefits from doing so. They are fun! The video training that comes with the clubs is adequate to good. You can also check YouTube for my free Indian Club training clips. Look under zenkahuna. My oldest student is 84 and she loves the Indian clubs. My youngest student is 26 and she loves them too. So, young or old, get to swinging.Read Best Reviews of Indian Clubs 2 Pound Pair with DVD Here
I became interested in using Indian clubs for working out when I saw Zenkahuna using them on YouTube. However, I was not sure what weight to get. I saw recommendations for up to 10 lbs as a starting weight for men and 5 lbs for women. Sure the instructors on the internet make it look easy, but I decided to err on the side of caution and bought these. 2lbs is plenty. I could not finish the exercises as my shoulders were burning and my grip was worn out. I am glad that I didn''t go heavier. I am an out-of-shape man I admit, but I do workout with kettle bells and dumb bells. This is entirely different. So I suggest using lighter clubs to start. The instruction on the tape is very good. He starts slow and has you mirror him. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase.Purchasing these Indian clubs and instructional dvd was one of the best moves I''ve made. The instructional dvd is very well made by Dr. Ed Thomas which makes it easy to learn the Indian club exercises. There are plenty of exercises to learn and you also can create your own when your good enough. I purchased these 2 lbs. Indian clubs for our son (plays varsity football & wrestling) who is already pretty strong. I would say to someone with not a lot of strength to purchase the 1 pounder''s for starting out. The Indian clubs are great and well made. This exercise system can really benefit your shoulder range, motion, flexibility, & strength. They also can help to avoid injury due to these benifits from being dedicated to using this system. Your grip, wrists, forearms, etc. will also benefit from these indian club exercises.
