RYKA Women''s K1094 Crosstraining Shoe

I just finished returning a pair of New Balance cross trainers I ordered through Amazon. Those were clunky and heavy and I wanted something lighter for Zumba. One of my main concerns is I have wide feet and it''s not always easy to buy shoes, much less buy them online without trying them on first. When I got these Rykas today, I put then on and jumped around in them and they are the most comfortable athletic shoes I have ever got that was comfortable right out of the box. Normally I need to wear them a couple weeks before they loosen up a little and conform to my feet, but not this time. The mouth of the shoe is just high enough to give a bit more ankle support for the twisty moves required with Zumba without looking like those high-tops from the 80s. The another reviewer stated these shoes have a wide toe box and I agree, but it works for me that way since I have wide feet and normally have to order wide sizing which this shoe doesn''t have.

There was a time in the not-so distant past when buying new aerobic shoes brought such joy and excitement, but that was when RYKA still made a quality product. I have gone through four pair of RYKA N-GAGE INSTRUCTOR shoes and could not wait to see the new cross-trainers, but when I purchased the new K1094 CROSS TRAINERS, what a disappointment it was. The padding in the K1094 shoes is nowhere near the amount you got in the N-GAGE shoes. Not only can you feel the cheapness when you first put them on, you can actually see the difference when the two shoes are side by side. I guess the getting less for more has finally hit RYKA now. I will now have to explore other brands for MID CROSS-TRAINERS ''cause the K1094 will make you slap yourself and say "I COULD''VE JUST GONE TO FAMILY DOLLAR STORE" I''m sure the quality couldn''t be any worse there than RYKA... and if anybody at RYKA is listening reading or interested, BRING BACK THE QUALITY, THE PADDING we Fitness Girls so need......

This is about my 4th pair of this model shoe I''ve owned. I have always used them for step aerobics, kickboxing and general weight/circuit training. What I love about them is the room in the toe box. What was better in the previous versions for sure is the cushioning was far superior and without it, it feels to me like less arch support. There is also a loss of bouyancy in the forefront of the shoe that is noticeably different then in the former versions. The shoe does feel light weight but in my opinion, Ryka sacraficed the very materials that made it the great shoe it was. Customers who are used to the previous versions may be disapointed. On a positive note, I do love the look of them.

These shoes were inferior for the price. I have purchased several Ryka shoes in the past years and these were by far the worst shoe ever. They felt like cardboard. I compared them to the current Ryka shoe that I am replacing. My shoes had better support, better construction and even the outter shell was more flexible. I''m wondering if Ryka is lagging on their quality control?

Stylish, comfortable shoe with wide footbed. Good for aerobic dance. There are probably comparable shoes that aren''t so pricey. This was my first pair and I will probably order Ryka''s again.
