Stott Pilates Essential Matwork-3rd Edition DVD

So, maybe I am just a little dumb, or didn''t look hard enough, but no one mentioned that you had to buy over $500.00 worth of equipment to use this dvd. I just wanted something that would get me into shape at home and heard Stott Pilates was the best. Wasted my money on this one, although I am sure it is a GREAT workout if you have the proper equipment.

I really like this video! The instruction is clear and simple, there is a great variety of exercises, and the workout is about an hour in length. Moira is a wonderful presenter with amazing Pilates skills. Good for beginning/intermediate practitioners who are not new to exercise.

Contains more exercises than most. A great variety to keep your workout fresh. My only criticism is that they do not show modified positions for people that do not have the strength or flexibility.

First, be forewarned this DVD is meant to be used for instructors undergoing Stott''s extensive (and expensive) instructor training program.

I bought the DVD as a serious student seeking to improve my practice.

If you go into it expecting to learn HOW to make Pilates work safely and effectively for you, you will be pleased. This is a learning tool, not a workout video. I recommend purchasing another Stott video aimed at home use to use as your workout video, as you are mastering the principles in this video.

If you are happy paying an instructor to keep an eye on you for the rest of your life, then skip this DVD.

I decided to do instructor training partially as a result of this video, and partially because I decided Stott Pilates classes were way too expensive for my frugal self. You could probably be set for the rest of your life after a couple of lessons with a Stott Pilates professional, and then the dedicated study of this DVD as well as its companion manual... Stott Pilates Comprehensive Matwork Manual Maybe check in every couple of months with your original instructor to make sure you are on track.
