XMark Fitness Flat Weight Bench with Dumbbell Rack

I just purchased and put this product together yesterday, so I have only used it once. That said, it is an impressive flat bench and quality of manufacture and design is excellent. This thing seems like really good value for the money. My purpose for buying this bench is for hammer curls, crunches, etc. I have a body craft gym for heavier stuff, but am confident this bench would do just fine for heavier duty. I think it said it was rated for 600 lbs & I believe it. Even though this product had no reviews, I was fairly confident in purchasing after viewing a demo video on the XMark website.

Why is this a good bench? Base is wide and solid. Rubber feet means it does not budge. Dumbbell rack at the bottom will fit a set of 5-25 dumbbells. Whether you use that or not, the rails of the rack make the product design even more solid. The pad on top is 2.5" thick and feels pro grade. Covering and stitching really seem built to last. I also wanted a bench with a wider top. This one is about 14" and seems just right to me. All the metal has a good battleship gray finish. One note on assembly...hex bolts & nuts are metric. You should use a socket on the nuts (it was 15 or 16mm, but I can''t remember which) and use a closed or open headed wrench to hold the bolts. I did get by using a standard wrench, but you must use a metric tool in tightening the nuts or they will strip.

First some info about me: 6''2", 230 lbs.

This bench is a perfect height 21" AFF which allows sitting exercises to be performed properly without my knees getting in the way. Also this bench is 14" wide which allows for a stable platform to lay down and perform exercises without feeling like your doing a balancing act. This is a solid well designed bench. It does not move around at all provided you followed the installation instructions. The added (included) dumbbell rack below the bench is a bonus and stores rubber hex dumbbells nicely up to 30lbs. Any larger the rubber hex dumbbell does not seat correctly. I highly recommend this bench for any one needing a solid, well built bench at a reasonable price. I mentioned my height at the beginning to reference the bench height (21") that possibly anyone under 6''0" may find it hard to place the feet on the floor while laying down on the bench. The bench does have great rubber feet which may provide a raised platform for your feet. This bench has a thick and dense foam pad wrapped in quality material and done with an eye toward high quality. I fell XMark makes high quality products as I own the rubber Matt''s and Power Tower and the quality is high and consistent. Assembly is well documented and just make sure you only finger tighten the fasteners until you have confirmed proper assembly and no extra parts.

Regarding packaging, it was shocking to see the box nearly destroyed upon delivery. I quickly examined the packaging and saw that there were two boxes. The outer box was thrashed and no longer secured together. But the inner box had very little damage and was strapped closed, not taped like the outer box. The packaging of the inner box was excellent and prevented any damage to the bench parts inside. I would still recommend that the outer box be strapped to not gamble damage to the inner box and product. I received my bench early December which by then the carriers are already getting swamped thus handling of packages are done in an expedited fashion and sustain more damage than normal.

This is a nice weight bench for the reasonable price. The top pad had some discoloration on it I called the manufacturer, sent them proof of purchase, and they replaced the top. You can''t ask for better service than that! I would not hesitate to purchase other equipment of this brand.

My best bench ever. The paint gets scraped off during assembly because the screws take so much power to turn, but it''s not a big deal. Way better than buying two $50 Apex benches in two years. Most cheap benches warp and bend because the legs have no lateral support. That won''t happen with this product. The bench is really big and high off the ground, which suits belly-down, rowing type exercises. The dumbbell rack helps too.
