Amber Sporting Goods VKR Workout Tower

Amber Sporting Goods VKR Workout TowerI purchased this mainly for the pull-up bar, but have used all of the features. I am a 5''7" female and I find this product to be just too big for me. The nice thing is that the pull-up bar is far enough off the ground that I can reach up to start my pull-ups without first having to bend my legs and lower myself. But, the foam pad in the middle of the bar seems to have awkward placement for me. I don''t understand why it doesn''t cover the entire bar. I feel restricted to where I can place my hands...maybe I''ll find a way to add some padding of my own that will balance it out.

The vertical knee raise portion is fine, a little wide for me, but not too bad. The dip handles are way too wide and are set up in a way that makes my shoulders feel very vulnerable and overly-susceptible too injury. I''m bummed that I don''t feel safe using this feature, because it was one of the reasons I wanted a station like this. Same goes for the push-up bars...just too wide for someone my size, but I don''t really care about this feature all that much. I think all of the positions seem too wide for people larger than me too, but I''m not sure what size person I would recommend this for.

This product is a complete piece of junk. It arrived in a very baddly damaged box and was missing most of the bolts necessary to assemble it. I had to go to the hardware store and Frankenstien the bolts togother. Once assembled the pull-up station is totaly worthless for doing pull-ups. When facing inwards your knees hit the structure of the unit at the bottom horozontial support beam and at the backrest. If you turn around and do pull-ups you are forced to hold your legs out in front of your body and this causes the angle of you pull up to be akward. I used this product for one P90X workout and then threw it in the garbage. A complete waste of money.

This product arrived in a box that looked like it as used as a speed bump. It was missing several bolts as well, no doubt as a result of the poor condition of the packaging.

However, with a few spares I had in the garage it went together easy enough. We use the chin up bar a lot. The crosspiece is located well to assist in those last pull ups. It is holding up well and does what we want it to.

I must admit that I see no use for those push up handles though...

i purchased with a lot of skepticism. once i received it. it took me about an hour to 1.5 hours to assemble. when putting all bolts and nuts in do not tighten until all bolts on tower are completely started. it will make your assembly much quicker. one i did get it together i am happy with the results. i weigh about 175 and i am not getting any squeaking noises that another user had said. . the pull up bar handles have wide grips but that is better for your overall gain.(once you get used to it.) i am 5''10" . this tower is not for a 6'' plus user as when using pull up my feet do almost hit ground. the dip and leg raise portion works perfectly. the pads when using leg raise keep help keep me in place while doing the number of reps needed. this machine says it has a 350 lb capacity. to be honest i would not think that is true. more like 250.00. as far as price goes. i ended up getting this from amazon (through one of thier sellers) for 87.98 shipped to my door. so i know i got an awesome deal. list for 105 to 145 everywhere else.

First bolts were missing and had to go to hardware store to purchase them.

Second, I had to redrill a couple holes for the bolts to fit.

Lastly, when putting the last handle in I thought I was just about done... but wait the bolt stop half way and just kept spinning. Now I have a loose handle and it drives me crazy.

I would return this item but after all this time I don''t feel like going through the hassle of taking it apart and repackaging it.
