Troy makes some great dumbbells but unfortunately for all of us they know it so they charge alot for them.I have worked out with the coated and uncoated variety and I must say that if your going to buy any of the dumbbells over 50 lbs buy them without the coating as they just get too bulky past that point to deal with-sure some people may have wooden floors and have no choice but I can tell you trying to do presses with two 90 lbs dumbells is a world apart in experience if you are trying to do them with the thick coated variety versus the bare plated smaller variety as the range of motion is much better in the uncoated dumbells-this becomes even more apparent if one is trying to do flying motions or standing curls. To sum up-these are the best of the best dumbells around and if you want a dumbbell made to last and that feels great in the hands buy these and then be prepared for a rather inflated price from those bloodsuckers at Troy who know they have you.I would had given these 5 stars if the price were not so high.
