Clif Bar Shot Electrolyte mix, cran-razz - 905g canister

I bought this product with a lot of previous experience with Clif Bar brand, having eaten an almost obscene amount (lol) of Clif Bar energy bars over the years. I was looking for an athletic drink mix that was naturally based and without all the heavy sweeteners of those such as Gatorade, Powerade, and the like, but also without the high cost of bottled alternatives like Vitamin Water, Life Water, etc. I was not disappointed with the Clif Shot, though I wish Amazon carried more than just the Lemonade flavor through their website. All the other hits they show are just too expensive for this stuff. The only drawback I can see about the mix itself is that it doesn''t immediately dissolve in water, and you have to let it sit for about 15 minutes before you stop seeing floating clusters of the stuff suspended in the liquid. But the taste is good and it really does a good job at quenching your thirst after a workout or bike ride, etc. I like to take it with me in my water bottle on rides and hikes. Highly recommend as an alternative to the typical "sports drink." Chief Locowolf

Pretty good tasting with cold water, but as you let it sit a while and it warms to room temperature it doesn''t taste too good. Maybe the other flavors are better.

I was a bit hesitant to try the Crisp Apple flavor, but I decided to give it a try anyway. I don''t like apple juice and was concerned it would taste too authentic, but it''s more of a sour green apple flavor, which is quite good in my opinion. This flavor is tied for my favorite with Cran Razz! As an electrolyte replacement it seems to work well, but I''ve never had any problems with cramping and I''m not too picky about anything other than flavor. I like that this flavor has caffeine, too!

I usually like Clif products, and maybe I got a bad canister but this stuff tasted terrible to me. You have to mix quite a bit of powder, and it doesn''t mix particularly well. I made sure to measure out exactly the right portion of water to mix it with a second time to verify that it was revolting before posting this review. Bleech, no more please. And I''m not kidding about the vomit part. You''re actually left with a disgusting acidic bile taste very similar to what you have after you loose your lunch. Yummy!
