It works fine. There are only pads on the handles which run perpendicular to the wall. No pads on the bar running parallel to the wall. The pad seems cheep and is only a matter of time before they tear off.
The bar doesn''t sit very far away from the wall. So doing pull ups facing the wall doesn''t allow for much forward movement of your feet and not much kipping either. But there''s nothing wrong with strict pull ups. You can try to face away from the wall. It''s doable, but since there isn''t much room for your shoulders, it is a bit awkward. You still couldn''t kip because your back would hit the wall.
Doing leg raises works, but doing toes to bar is a little difficult because the bar isn''t very far away from the wall.
