CycleOps Jet Fluid Pro Winter Training Kit
Very quite and easy to set up! Having never used a trainer before I was a little apprehensive. The set-up took all of 2-5 minutes. Easy!
Much more of workout than I would have thought! I watch movies on the computer while spinning in the morning and weekends.
I feel that I got my money''s worth!I live in Minnesota and have been using this for a couple months now on-and-off if it''s cold out or extremely windy, I''ll just bike on the Cycleops in my office and get a great workout. I have had two different bikes on it (Scott Metrix 30 and Scott CR1 Comp) and both performed superbly. I would recommend using the quick-release skewer that comes with the kit it''s a perfect fit for the Pro. Highly recommend using the climbing block not necessarily for uphill-simulation, but more for bike stability. It''s pretty stable either way, but the block sure helps hold the bike secure.
Good: Easy to get the bike on and off I can literally do it in 10 seconds. The initial setup isn''t even that difficult. Feels very realistic.
Bad: It is a noisy bugger. I can''t hear my laptop speakers over it, but that''s all right. I don''t take away any stars for this because I believe in function over form, and this device functions great.
Bottom Line: If you are looking for a good way to bike when the weather outside won''t let you, I would highly recommend this product!!

Purchased this as a B-day present for my wife. Our long cold winters do not allow for year-round road riding and we were looking for an alternative to spinning at the gym. I researched several different styles of trainers as well as companies.Cycleops carries a great name and lives up to it.
I bought the winter training kit to get the 2 climbing blocks, mat, and bike thong thrown in with the trainer. Setup took all of 5 minutes. Bike mounting is equally easy. We each have a road bike so I did go out and buy an extra rear wheel skewer so all we have to do is switch the bikes out which takes 30 seconds.
The road feel of the Cycleops Fluid trainer is outstanding. No spin bike or stationary gym bike can beat its realism for road like ride. Alan Lim from Team Radioshack did his homework when he helped design this machine. It also allows you to ride your own bike which fits better than even the most adjustable setup at the gym.
We have only owned it for 1 month but have each already logged some decent miles. Very pleased with the purchase and the shop it came from. Also, 1 of the climbing blocks was cracked, we emailed Cycleops and they fed-ex''ed a replacement within 48 hrs. Great customer service.

I found it set up easily with my CAAD 8 and CAAD 10, the included skewer goes in with no problem. The finish is as pretty as the bikes themselves and everything comes nice and neat in one box.The climbing blocks and floor mat are great and left no residue on my floors.
The trainer itself sets up very easily, just set the legs, set the distance with that big yellow lever and get on and start riding.
I''ve done about 300 miles on it and it works as the same as the day I bought it. It''s not too noisy and the DVD is good if you''re the type to get bored on indoor trainers.
If you live in an apartment expect to hear some complaints as this will send some vibrations through the floor resulting in a humming noise for the people below you and I find putting something under the trainer helps that greatly.
Pros:
Fast setup and break down,
Looks great
comes with everything you could possibly need
smooth operation
excellent resistance
climbing blocks and DVD add some diversity to the workout.
Cons:
noise not suitable for apartments but much quieter than most other trainers. Just turn up the TVSimple to set up, exceptionally well made unit. Made in USA. Most realistic riding experience I''ve found on an indoor roller. The accessories in the winter kit are a must-have, especially the riser block and rubber floor mat.
Adidas Men''s adiPure Trainer Barefoot Shoe
My only complaint is they tend to slip a little when I''m exercising in my own sweat on hard wood floors. I think the bottom just need scuffed up a little through normal wear and tear.
Overall I am pleased with this purchase. These are also my first taste of barefoot footware so I have no bench mark, but I''d still say these are some of the best.It all depends on the shape of your foot, but for my feet the 5 toes feels better than the 4 toes version by Fila. I tried on shoes at a variety of price points from a variety of manufacturers, but decided to go for the top, and couldn''t be happier with the mesh upper instead of the alternatives. It breathes easy, fits great and truly does pass almost all sensation (in a good way) through from the ground as you walk.
I can''t emphasize enough that you should try this type of show on at a local sporting goods store, though, as the "glove" fit means you''ll really need to dial it in as opposed to "I wear a 10 in my tennis shoes so I should wear a 10 in these, right?"
Please note it takes about 2 full days of wear before they''re appropriately broken in, and you''re used to the feeling. If you''ve ever worn toes socks, it''s a lot like that. If you''ve never worn toes socks, think of thong sandals with the piece between your big to and index toe, then multiply that by five. It''s odd, but not bad, and after a day of it your wont even think it feels that odd anymore, just comfy.
Kelly Coffey-Meyer''s 30-Minutes to Fitness "Cardio Quick Fix"
Kelly Coffey-Meyer has become perhaps my very favorite instructor. Not only does she now teach in the town where I grow up, but also she''s about my same age (mid-40s), and I just really click with her low-key, down-to-earth style. That being said, I DON''T always click with all of Kelly''s workouts, nor do I own all of her DVDs. Furthermore, I''m not a huge fan of cardio. However, after I saw the clips of CARDIO QUICK FIX, I thought it looked like fun, and I was interested in trying the DVD.
Kelly works out here with two of her usual background exercisers, Sam and Lori, plus a new modifier, Noelle. The Main Menu offers options for Introduction Workout 1 Workout 2 Bonus Abs/Hips & Glutes Premixes and a Music On/Off option. (I found the music to be fun; it''s mostly vocal and very upbeat.) Other than an optional mat for the Bonus segment, no equipment is necessary for these workouts. I have broken down each in detail below.
WORKOUT 1
This workout starts with an approximately 5-minute warm-up. Kelly runs through moves such as marches, heels front, squats right and left, toe taps, front cross, knee hops, and body lifts. She does not do any stretches. She then moves right into the cardio portion of the workout. This basically consists of two long sequences--e.g., she teaches a series of moves in add-on fashion, running through this several times, then moves on to the second series. The first sequence is significantly longer than the second at about 10 minutes. Moves include marches, hip dips to either side, body lifts, insole taps (adding a bit of impact), shuffle with arms in/out, step/grapevine with jab/cross and flurry, and a softball pitch and catch. Although Kelly does repeat the sequence (a.k.a. "take it from the top"), I found the moves to be fun, different, and engaging. The second series is shorter at about 6 minutes. Here the moves are more standard--e.g., side shuffle, jog, 3-knee repeater, step heel, jump rope, side-to-side, and curtsey push--but Kelly ups the intensity with a bit more impact. At the conclusion of this workout, Kelly moves quickly through approximately 2 minutes of all-standing stretches, bringing the total workout time in right around 25 minutes.
WORKOUT #2
For this 29.5 minute workout, Kelly ups the intensity somewhat by performing higher impact drills. (Viewers always have the option of staying low impact with Noelle.) Following the same warm-up as Workout #1, there are an additional few minutes of low-intensity moves (e.g., squats right-left, marches, jogs) which feel like sort of an extended warm-up. Kelly then begins the drills. She starts with a lower impact move, then she switches over to a more intense version of this move for about 30 seconds. The movement pairs included marches to jogs, pop squat knee lifts to knee pops, side-to-side steps to skaters, elbow smash to elbow smash with hop, bob & weave to front punch with side leg lift, jacks to jack with jump, side-to-side step to chasse with floor touch, squat to squat pop, and back lunge to squat. As usual, Kelly finishes with a quick (
Pearl iZUMi Men''s Select Long Thermal Tight
No problem with the wind, rain or snow.
Stayed warm and operated at a high level of performance.Pearl Izumi Select Long Thermal Tights, Large
These are designed for running since they lack the chamois padding for bicycling. The sizing based on reviews of the regular-length Thermal Tights, is quite off from Pearl Izumi''s other thermal tights. I opted to purchase the Long-length Thermal Tights because my regular inseam is 34 inches, while the regular Select Thermal Tights are advertised to have a 28 inch inseam. Granted that this inseam has to be shorter since it ends at the ankle, the 28 inches are too short. I also normally wear size Medium Pearl Izumi cycling thermal tights and cycling shorts, but I ordered these in Large. My waist size is 33"-33.5", so I am in-between sizes most of the time.
In Large, these Long Thermal Tights fit my thighs perfectly. They are baggier at my calves and there''s a lot of room in my groin area. The waist feels a tad loose. The ankles are too tight and aren''t elastic for some reason. The length is perfect, so if you have a 34 inch inseam for regular pants, I highly recommend you buy the Long Thermal Tights. I''d probably try a Medium in the future but I suspect it will be very tight in the thighs. My Pearl Izumi cycling thermal tights in Medium have more than enough inseam, have an elastic ankle, and fit perfectly. These running Long Thermal Tights need more consistent sizing.
That said, these Select Thermal Tights have a micro-fleece material that kept my warm down to the upper 30s in heavy wind. I was sweating at the end of my 3 mile run but I never felt like I was overheating. The compression in my thighs helped me perform better while running, and the tights made everything feel light and aerodynamic.
Overall: 4/5 stars, the sizing is a bit off. I normally wear Medium Pearl Izumi cycling shorts and tights, but I tried Large with these Long Thermal Tights and they are only a tad loose with the ankles extremely tight, and the calves are very loose. My waist is 33-33.5 inches, regular pant inseams are 34 inches.

I had a weekend of riding coming up in the fall and I did not own any tights to ride while biking. I ride a road bike, and needed something to keep my legs warm. I have other Pearl Izumi products, and found these Select Thermal Tights. I thought I would give them a try.I love these tights!
One of the best parts is that I ordered the "Long" version of the product. I am tall, with a 35" inseam in my pants. These tights are long enough that they reach my ankles and can go over my socks. I typically have a hard time finding long enough pants, so this was great!
The quality is outstanding. I expect nothing less from Pearl Izumi, and they delivered on these tights. They do a great job on their products.
I had my ride and it was in the upper 30s close to 40 starting out right at sunrise in the morning. I was warm in these tights. I wore them over my biking shorts because the tights are not padded (which is great because you can wear them for running or other outdoor activities too). These are skin tight, and very comfortable. I ordered the same size I wear in the Pearl Izumi bike shorts I have, and the fit is great.
I fully recommend these tights for biking. I know they worked into the upper 30s for me. I have not tested them lower. I found I could also ride with them on into the low to mid 60s as the day warmed up and I did not overheat. Great product.

I use these for casual bicycling, and so far (a couple of months of several day a week use) have no complaints. They are comfortable, fit well, and keep my legs warm in temps down to the low 50''s F. They are machine washable and I''ve seen no pilling or other wear spots at this point.I had a pair of inexpensive cycling tights before. They shielded me from the wind, but they really didn''t add any warmth of their own. These are different. They are slightly fuzzy inside. As soon as I put them on, I could feel my body warmth radiating back onto my legs. It was kind of amazing. The only reason I don''t give five stars is the zipper arrangement is a bit odd. They are so well hidden, the first time I pulled the tights on (at 6am in a dark bedroom), I didn''t realize there was a zipper, and kind of forced them over my heel, and I could hear the fabric stretching. Upon closer inspection, I discovered the hidden zipper. So, on one hand, it''s a plus, as they are nicely concealed in the fabric, on the other hand, perhaps Pearl Izumi could put a tag on the zipper so n00bs like myself would realize they are there. In any case, well worth the money!Chest Expander Includes a Total of 5 Springs

We purchased this product and found that it is indeed a Chinese-manufactured knock off product violating both a patent and registered trademark. Sure, the price is cheap. The quality is cheap, and the foam inside is a total unknown. Buy American. I saw results in just a few short weeks. I lost 25 pounds and a lot of inches.
This program is what you make of it. The video isn''t super great, but, you once you learn the routine of each disc you can generally add in a few extra reps for the ones that aren''t counted.
I bought this for my home so that I could start working out again. I was so excited to start up again. I know that this program works, which is why I did make the purchase.

This must be doing something. I''m pretty active but these short workouts are really making my muscles sore. I think the idea of calisthenics with resistance is a very good one.But I agree about the editing. These vids are cheesy, with poor transitions, and uneven rep counts (he might have you do 3 reps on one side and 5 on the other). If he has you repeat an exercise in a new set, they just copy and paste the video from before. Mari and ShawnT take pains to make a connection with the audience and a flow through the workout. Not so much here.
Edit (August 2012): My wife and I are still using these videos. We have each progressed through 3 higher bell sizes. It''s a very effective workout in a short time. The workaround for the uneven rep counts is to alternate sides. What I mean by this is, in set 1, you do what Ryan says (for example, start the one-armed press on the RH side). In set 2, switch it up. (Start on the LH side). Also, despite what Ryan says about back pain, some of these DO hurt my 50-year-old back. I just don''t do those, and do something else instead.
Weider 2980 x Weight System
Instead, I used the online form to request that they send me the blister pack 2 of three. I gave the product number and serial number and a very clear description of what was missing.
The response I received was astonishing. Their support representatives do not have access to a parts list, and are unable to fulfill a request for "blister pack 2 of three". They suggested that then only way they could produce the missing parts would be for me, the customer, to reverse engineer their bill of materials from the steps in the manual! This means, find the steps that had parts from blister pack 2 and build a list of the parts for them. I was flabbergasted.
I can''t decide whether it is laziness, stupidity or malice. First of all, they should have access to at least the BOM for the machine in question. Secondly, it should be trivial for them to call someone and ask "hey, what''s on blister pack 2 of three for the 2980x?". Perhaps it''s the language barrier with the Chinese child who packed the box?
So, I went ahead and spent an hour putting that list together today and sent it to him. I hope it is accurate. That''s an hour of my life that I''ll never get back, all the while seething at the insipid foolishness of Weider customer support.
I own a company that has a customer support function. This little exchange will be used for training purposes on what NOT to do.
I am currently awaiting their next excuse.

Machine is exactly what I need to tone up! Not for body builders with max of 214 lbs. Took around 6 hrs to assemble by myself. The graphics in the instructions are not perfect. After complete assembly, discovered a extra thin pulley? Weider C/S was no help in this matter. I discovered my error, because of poor design in the manual I missed one step. I purchased this via Kmart online for about $210 bucks. Drove to my local Kmart and loaded the huge box in my Truck. Took about 3.5 hours to assemble. It is an OK weight system for what it is. Easy to use, functions well.Want Weider 2980 x Weight System Discount?
I bought this, put it together and have used it a few times now. There are reviews out there that this is hard to assemble. It is not terribly difficult. I did it with my 4 year old daughter in about 4 hours. She helped unpack and hand me stuff, it was a nice little activity.... If you follow the directions, get/use the appropriate tools, and get the parts identified, it''s not bad at all. I got rid of a bench and a bunch of weights/bars/etc. that were taking up a ton of space and I didn''t really use anymore.Necessary items they don''t really tell you that will make it easier a socket/rachet set 1/2 in and 5/8 I believe are all you need. Oh a a screwdriver for the tower covers that actually fits the self tapping screws properly (this was the biggest pain, w/o the right philips head, they tend to strip or be difficult).
Pros:
Space savings, it''s compact and self contained.
It does a decent amount of basic exercises.
It looks nice..
Nuts and bolts well labled and described in the directions.
Cons:
The weight resistance on the lower pulleys starts at like 58 lbs. It''s probably not the best piece of equipment for younger people or possibly women. It doesn''t go any less than that on the lower stuff so you may not be able to use it if you''re not strong enough to start at 60lbs or so.
If you''re bigger than 6ft, it''s probably going to be a little tight. I''m 6'' and there are some exercises that I feel like I need some more room on the machine.
The exercise chart is not specifically for this machine. Instead it''s for a group of machines. You''ll not be able to do more than half of the exercises listed.
Otherwise, it''s a decent machine for the price. I paid under 300. It''s certainly convenient and easy to use. I am able to get a nice 30-45 minute workout in the morning without any fuss.

I am 135lbs, 5''4'''' and tried on the Medium. According to BMI charts, my BMI is right in the middle of the range for my height and weight. Since I dont have extremely tight and toned thighs, the elastic in certain places fit me funny and my thighs stuck out in certain places. From a totally aesthetic point of view, I didnt like them because the elastic made my thighs bulge in certain areas and it was not pretty...but I cant comment on functionality or worth since I returned them.Read Best Reviews of CW-X Women''s Pro Running Shorts Here

I initially ordered the men''s wrist strap and armband as those were the only ones available when I first got my Motoactv. I''m 5''1" and 108 lbs, so quite petite, and the original wrist strap was just ridiculous on me (I might as well have worn it as an armband) so I never used it. Wearing the Motoactv on my arm worked if I wanted to use it for the music and as a HRM, but when I run, I like to be able to look at it to keep track of my distance, time, etc. When this wrist strap became available, I ordered it. I''ve been using only the wrist strap ever since (according to my Amazon order record, for around 6 months now) and am quite happy with it. I''m small-boned (left wrist measures 5.5 inches around at the point where I wear this) and am able to wear this with 3 holes left over. With long sleeves, I fasten it over my shirt and have 4 holes left over. The Motoactv can be slipped in and out of the wristband relatively easily if you want to switch from it to the armband. It''s secure though, so I never worry about it falling out.
The two things I wish were that it was positioned differently and of a slightly more flexible fabric. The rubbery strap does seem like it might last longer (i.e. hold up to sweat) better than something softer. I would think something similar to the chest strap fabric might work though. Also, if you hold your arm up to look at it as you would a watch, the Motoactv is sideways. I will try to post a picture of it on my arm at some point.
One other note--when I wear this on my wrist, I run the cable for my (super-cheap) earphones down the inside of my left sleeve, out by my wrist, and plugged in to the Motoactv. I often wear running skirts with earphone ports and pockets designed for music players, but since I want to be able to look at the screen, I''m not going to put the thing in my pocket. This setup works pretty well. I would recommend earphones with a clip so you can attach them to your shirt to keep them from moving around too much.
Overall, I love my Motoactv and this strap makes it easy and convenient to use.

My husband has an ACTV and had gotten me one. His wrist band was too large (I have small wrists) and the arm band was too large. In addition, I like being able to see the ACTV on my wrist. This one is definitely smaller/thinner. A tiny bit thinner would be nice, but it doesn''t bother me when working out/running.ASICS Men''s Lacrosse Scrimmage Round-Neck

I''m not very particular about compression shorts. I bought five different pairs of shorts just to see if there was a difference. My conclusion, buy based on price. Of the shorts I tried, none of them stood out as significantly better or worse than the others. McDavid is my first choice, they are the least expensive of the group. Champion came in a close second, they were the next least expensive.
I tried two different models of McDavid (the least expensive and my preference based on price only), Asics, Champion, and these Under Armour shorts.

Champion Men''s Compression 6 Inch Inseam Short
Men''s Ventilated Compression Short Bottoms by Under Armour Under Armour was one of the more expensive pairs, and I''d say, not really worth the extra money. These might be a great choice for somebody that runs long distance or is very particular. For me, they just weren''t worth it.I bought these compression shorts to run and go to the gym in. They are pretty good but the sizing is different for these then other compression shorts. I wish I would have checked the asics website to see their measurements for s, m, and etc. If I would have done that I would not have run into this problem, which is advice for anytime you buy stuff online check the measurements from that company because each company might fit differently. Overall I am still happy with them.

I have purchased many different brands of compressions shorts, mainly Target and Wal-Mart brands, which tend to rip easily and quality can vary on identical items on the same rack. ASICS is well-known and established company so they know how to do things right, every time. If you need compression shorts, get these. Average length, breathable.I have used Nike Combat Pros for sometime but decided to give these a try. The design is great and the fabric does not bunch up like the Nikes. Not sure about durability, but they look well made. They tend to run small. I wouldn''t say they are true to size as with the other brands. It ended up being a bit...constricting.Power Punch

It does not stink, so the non-toxic/phthalate-free material must be a good thing.
It does need air added once or twice a week. Showing a coworker the hand pump that comes with it led to a conversation about shake weights, so apparently the designers have a sense of humor.

If you''re single and you want to pick up women, wear this pullover. It is perfectly crafted to keep the warm in, the (slightly) cold temperatures out, and the girls swooning at every turn. The ladies will want you, and the guys will want to be you. It has a slimmer fit all around, giving me the inclination that it might not be the best pullover for the one''s with more love to share. The stitching across the whole thing seemed a little more noticeable than the picture suggested, but I think that it adds a little character to the piece.
