Champion Women''s Absolute Bike Short

Champion Women''s Absolute Bike Short, Black, MediumComfortable, but these are not "bike" shorts in the true sense. They do not have any padding in the crotch area typical of bike shorts. These are thigh-length exercise shorts, which are airy, light, and breathes well for walking or running. The length prevents chafing in the thigh area. For that, I rate this a 4. For the misnomer of bike shorts, it falls below the 5-star rating.

I adore these shorts. I live in the hot, humid south where wearing a skirt during the day can lead to some really unpleasant leg/thigh chafing. So I ordered a bunch of different fitted shorts to see which one looked/fit/worked best under summer dresses and skirts.

These were a clear winner. I am a solid size 14 (5''9" and 180lbs) and the XL fit perfectly. The waist and leg seams were comfortably fitted and very comfy. The material is breathable and I had no sign of leg chafing after wearing them under a dress.

These bike shorts are a summertime lifesaver I have no idea whether they''re great for biking, but they''re great for everyday comfort!

These are black synthetic stretchy shorts, with a wide "waistband"--no elastic, but it has a bunch of sewing to try to make something more attractive. Well, for those with perfect bodies, this would be nice, but for those with a stomach that goes outward, the waistband folds itself over when you bend forwards. Another bad thing about the waist is that it is not make is such a way that you can roll it down if you want one or two rolls, it looks BAD with the waist band rolled down.

WAIST NOT BIASED ENUF: Bike shorts need lower waist in front, higher in back, as you always bend over riding a bike (I do anyways). These pants go up too high, not like in the picture on my body, they come up to my belly button, and I have a lot more leg coming out between the bottom of the short and the knee. I would like the shorts an inch longer or two, and then they would come to where my 7" shorts come to. They also seem a bit loose on my thighs, and thin weight fabric. I was hoping for a bit of compression short effect.

There is no chamois or strange padding in these, which I like, and none of that nasty rubber gripper tape on the legs. They do have nice flatlock stitching so the seams don''t irritate or show. They seem well made, but only time will tell.

IN SUM: They are a well made pair of light weight black stretch shorts, with a wide "waist" band (no added elastic, which is good. I could do without any waist band on my skin tight pants...they stay up due to being skin tight, why make a MUFFIN TOP?)

I like these shorts, I just use them for running and working out because my other shorts are too small and I am too cheap to buy all new shorts. These will tide me over until I get back into shape and I am very pleased with them. I have washed them numerous times and they are in great condition.

These are really great shorts. I love the feel and the way the waist is cut, not like most other bike shorts...they are very comfortable. Also, you can''t beat the price. I''ve paid $40+ for other brands that have nothing on these. No complaints!
