It gets worse.
Josh Taylor is a Master Spinning Instructor and I absolutely respect what it takes to train and dedicate yourself to achieve that status. However, people looking for correct instruction on this DVD will be let down. Firstly, Josh takes BOTH his hands off the handle bars several times which is inherently dangerous, especially for beginners. This is especially true at the end after the ride. He instructs the class to sit upright, take both hands off the handle bars, close the eyes and breathe deeply. For someone new to Spinning trying that after a hard ride is just asking to fall off the bike and break your ankles in the process. Strike #1! The very best Spinning instructors are great at visualization. We all know we''re on a stationary bike, but to have someone help you feel you''re out on the open road is a rare talent. Josh, on this showing at least, doesn''t have it. I really didn''t get all his clock face and numbers nonsense. Strike #2! The final strike is something I could not believe I saw on an official Spinning DVD. Josh instructing his class to stretch ON THE BIKE! That is a HUGE no-no again for safety reasons. I was taught by a Master Spinning Instructor (hi Raquel) and I lost count of the number of times she lectured us about not doing this. It''s in the Spinning Instructor Manual too. What was Josh thinking?
Overall, this DVD could have been a whole lot better. Apart from the things I''ve already mentioned, the warm down was way too brief, no attention was given to correct form, scant attention to breathing and correct hand position and no help or guidance for people NOT using a Spinning Computer. I do train with a heart rate monitor and a Spinning Computer, but Josh SHOULD have explained perceived exertion and how to check your own cadence. Tut-tut! The DVD extras are OK. There are chapters on bike setup and safety, the Spinner bike, how to use a heart rate monitor and even a short piece about becoming a Certified Spinning Instructor.
This is the second Spinning DVD I''ve used. The other one, Ride On Endurance Energy Zone, is much better. I''ll write a review of that when I get a chance. Hope this all helps.

This DVD was a total waste of money. It is basically the "instructor" just telling you to keep pedaling and feel at one with the bike. I was hoping for a great spin workout comprised of hills, sprints, and recovery. Well this was definitely not it! And then to top it off, it''s not returnable! Very frustrating! Don''t waste your money on this DVD.Read Best Reviews of Spinning Maximum Results DVD Josh Taylor Here
this program was exactly what I was looking for.The instructor takes you through a very motivating and intense workout. you do not need the computer that the class uses, it is easy to just follow along with the routine.I am glad I bought the videos and look forward to getting more from the same instuctorI was looking for something to spice up my workouts. I own several spinning dvds (Spinervals, MUCH BETTER WORKOUT) and thought I''d try a different brand. What a disappointment! Basically, all it does is take you on a gradual incline from a tension of around 2, to a tension of around 10. Mostly in the saddle. BORING. No sprints, no jumps, no tempo work, NO VARIETY. Save your money, or get a Spinervals dvd. You''ll be happier.
