I looked at a few of these pull-up towers before deciding on this one. Two things I like were the square form and the diagonal bracing under the arm rests. Some others were constructed with tubular steel which didn''t look as sturdy. I also felt that the arm rests needed that extra bracing. I was not disappointed when it arrived. Very easy to assemble and very solid.Read Best Reviews of XMark Fitness Power Tower with Pull-up Station Here
I''m happy that it is very sturdy, well built, and pretty easy to put together with 2 people working on it. But I''m only 5''3" and the entire station is built for a taller/larger person. On the leg lift station the arms are spaced way to far apart to be comfortable for me and the pull up bar is far to high for me also. Also, the padded grips turn which can be a safety issue.Want XMark Fitness Power Tower with Pull-up Station Discount?
This power tower is to flimsy and shakes all over the place when I do pull-ups. At 225 lbs, I thought it was going to fall on top of me when I started to crank out reps! Also, the warranty is worthless if you did not purchase it directly from XMark Fitness, and returns do NOT cover shipping (I can see why, about $100 due to its weight.) The bar is too thin as well. I''m going to have to set up a pull up bar properly, i.e., in the back yard with concrete base firm in the ground, and at 7 1/2 feet high, with a thick bar. I will NOT ship this back and pay another $100. I will sell it for scrap. You are better off using monkey bars at a playground in your neighborhood for free (that is what I was doing, I don''t know what I was thinking when I bought this.). Don''t waste your money.
