j/fit 75cm Stability Exercise Ball (Tomato Red)

j/fit 75cm Stability Exercise BallThis ball seems solidly-made out of thick, durable material and it does not let air out. However, the color is very different from the picture. On my screen it looks like a bright warm tomato red (as in the title) so I thought it would color-coordinate nicely with my other stuff in my room, but in reality it''s more of a dull red-pink, almost like the color of raw ahi tuna. Not what I expected and I don''t love it.

Durable & well constructed, you need to look to find closing pin since it is clear. No problem, I had for 6 months and I put air just once.

I ordered this ball because it was listed as 75cm. When it arrived I blew it up--to its limit--and it only measured less than 65cm. Plus, I should have listened to the previous reviewer. The color texture is disgusting.

The ball is good. Like the other reviewer''s have said, the ball is durable and well constructed. However, the only downside, is the pump. The pump lasted for 2 minutes before it broke. So, if purchased, make sure you have another air pump on hand.

Height - Adjustable Step

Height - Adjustable StepDoes everything I need it to do. The step is adjustable. Able to change the height for various exercises or level of dificulty. The step is smaller than I visualized but still gets the job done. I use it in a personal training environment. Not sure how it would work for a group class with bigginers as the size of step is smaller than most group class steps I have seen.

Smooth Fitness 5.45 Folding Treadmill

Smooth Fitness 5.45 Folding TreadmillConsider buying it from the manufacturer web site (smoothfitness.com). Why? This thing is massive! Read on...

GOOD POINTS: My wife and I use it every day. It is solid as a rock and quiet. We absolutely got our money''s worth and I''d buy it again, hands-down.

BAD POINTS: It is MASSIVE! Because we bought this from Amazon, it came shipped to us just like you''d think. But at 200+ lbs, it remained in our garage until five guys from church came and carried it to our basement. Once there, I had to assemble it.

Mind you, assembly is mostly-done for you. But there''s work for you to do, and don''t make any mistake about it. Setting this thing up takes time and effort, but it''s worth it.

ADVICE: buy this from the manufacturer''s web site and pay for their White Glove service. If you do, once it arrives someone will lug it to any room in your home and *then* assemble it for you. Trust me on this, just spend the money and let someone else deal with it! Learn from my mistake. If you opt to save money like I did, you will be sorry you did when this thing arrives at the end of your driveway. At least I was.

One last thing: make sure where you put it has an AC outlet nearby. You will need it (this thing needs power). If you do like me and put it in your basement, go out and buy a power-strip (with a 10-foot or more cord) and have it handy, so the installation people can plug it in once it''s all assembled. In our case, I even taped-down the power-strip cable to the floor, so you don''t trip over it.

Again, once assembled and where it''s suppose to be in your home, this is money well spent. I can''t tell you enough how solid and reliable it is. Just pay someone else to deal with the set-up hassle and you''ll be all set.

Like the other reviewers have mentioned, this treadmill is HUGE. I''ve owned 3 others in the past and this one has the biggest "head unit" (where the display is located) of any I''ve owned. The belt seems a bit narrower because I am always nicking the sides when I run.

The display is pretty good, but if I have one complaint other than the non-colored characters (blue or orange would have been better to see in low lighitng): The Speed and Distance swap. I honestly thought from the manual I had downloaded and reading the description that these would both display all the time. To me, these are two things that should ALWAYS be shown. Other things that are less important ARE shown: Heart Rate, Incline percentage (who the heck needs to see that ALL the time?), and Calories burned. Time is also shown separately, but I do consider this one to be important. To me, the items that should ALWAYS show on their own are Speed, Distance, and Time. The rest can swap. Heart Rate especially seems like a strange item to always display since you have to grip the bars to get anything other than "P" displayed.

The reason this layout bothers me is if you happen to end your workout while the Speed/Distance part of the display is on the Speed, you will never know what the Distance was unless you restart the treadmill and let it run until it''s time for the Distance to display again. This is what really causes me to give this treadmill a 4 and not a 5.

But this brings me to something that I didn''t see explained in the manual that IS a big bonus: when you press Stop it is actually only Pausing so that you CAN continue to work out with the last known stats as long as the treadmill hasn''t been powered down (which happens after a few minutes of non-use) or as long as you haven''t pressed Stop twice. The button is not labeled Pause, though, so it''s not necessarily intuitive.

As for its performance, the only treadmill I had that was as comfortable was my Vision Fitness. This thing runs smoothly, feels comfortable, and costs about four-hundred dollars less than the Vision Fitness. I''ve only had it for about 3 weeks, but I run on it at least 2 times per week and walk all the other days. It seems durable and doesn''t shake much at all. The drink holders could be a bit wider (or maybe just one of them), but it holds a bottle of Propel just fine. I didn''t get my free water bottle for some reason.

I bought this direct from Smooth and had the White Glove/complete install service. I agree with the reviewer who said PAY the EXTRA. Seriously, it''s humongous and I can only imagine how much a pain it would be getting it inside my house. The people who put it together are the delivery folks, though, and they told me they get to see a short video on how to assemble ONE model of Smooth''s treadmills. It showed. They got it done, but treadmill pros would''ve taken a lot less time and gotten less confused. All in all, I am quite pleased with this treadmill, however. I''d go for a smaller one in an apartment unless you don''t bother with furniture.

We live in a small house but not an apartment (north-east tri-state area... houses are small) anyway, we bought this from the manufacturer and when it arrived he box was enormous.

It takes some time to assemble and is not really *that* ready out of the box.

Unfortunately we could not find a single place to put it because it was just too big. Even when folded the belt part only goes up at a 45 degree angle so it still sticks out way too much and obstructs everything. It should really fold up closer to 90 degrees.

Also once its set it simply has to stay there because it will not go though a standard doorway assembled and if you try to move it after disassembling it be ready for a surprise; It simply will not stay flat because of the hydraulic device thing underneath it will ''snap'' it like a giant inverted mouse trap! You have to find a way to tie the thing together but the strong pressure broke all the ties we had...what a hassle! .. just to get it through a darn doorway!!

Great performance but BULKY, HEAVY and a HASSLE to transport.

Having all the features I needed (long-wide tread, 2+hp, with good speed, and incline), this treadmill is the best for the money. The only things not attached are some plastic covering pieces and the hand steady bars. So don''t even think about moving it part-by-part somewhere. As stated earlier this unit is heavy, but movable by 2 men (even up stairs). Drop off service will not bring unit into your house unless your door can accomidate a forklift.

Pros:

* Best value for the money

* Silent motor

* Rock solid

Cons:

* Deck movement squeeks a little on inclines 2 and 3.

I have had terrible customer service from this company and I''ve never even had the actual product in my house. Never have I ever had such terrible terrible service from a company before that is so highly recommended on so many websites. First I ordered my machine, and after 2 weeks of waiting I emailed customer service and was told that it was, in fact, on back order and would be another three weeks before I received it. Why I was not told this in an email when I first placed my order I don''t know. Then two days after being told it was going to be three weeks I received a phone call telling me that in fact it was not going to be three weeks, but two. Two weeks came and went and nothing happened. Three weeks came and went and nothing happened. Four weeks later I called to find out where my treadmill was and was then told that it was still on back order and was going to be another three weeks before the shipment came in. Again, I had received no email or phone call letting me know there was another delay in shipment. Deciding that I would not like to wait another three weeks to find out that it would be another X amount of weeks before I actually received it in my house and never being offered anything such as free set up for the serious delay of my order I decided to cancel. And now I can''t get my refund. I was told that it would be 5-7 business days before I would see the refund in my account, it is now business day number 8 and not only is customer service suspiciously closed during hours that according to their website they are supposed to be open but I still have not received my refund a refund, in my opinion should have been extremely fast seeing as how the product is still on back order. I recommend going to Sears they have a great selection of treadmills and are always having excellent sales and even better you can try them out before you buy.

Michelle Dozois Peak 10 More Cardio Strength

Michelle Dozois Peak 10 More Cardio StrengthWOW! That is the word that comes to mind regarding this workout! I wasn''t sure what to expect but was not disappointed in the quality of the workout that I received from Michelle! I had never done a workout of hers but I must say this one did not leave anything on the table. It was TOUGH! When I put in time doing a workout, whether it be an hour or more, I want to feel like I have made good use of my time. There is nothing worse than committing to an hour long class or DVD only to end feeling like you have to go do more. By the time the hour with Michelle is up, I am ready for it to be over! I love the variation from the normal workout that I get with this 59 minute sweat soaking, heart-pounding, high-intensity muscle/cardiovascular challenge!! I am a fitness instructor and have done about every kind of workout at home that there is out there from P90X to Jackie Warner to old school Billy Blanks Tae Bo (may be showing my age here now ;) ) so it is hard to find one that challenges me at a level that this one does while being "new" and unique! This one delivers! The way heavier weights (meaning 10lbs for me) are incorporated into strength moves (some that I''ve not seen done before) that are fast paced and the way the progression of the Peak 10 regimen works, gives me a workout that is so challenging overall. Mentally, I really have to toughen up to get through this workout and stick to the heavier weights rather than drop down, because that''s what I want to do. I don''t know that I have worked up a sweat like this in a very long time!! Wasn''t sure when I ordered it if I would like it or not, but am SO glad that I gave it a chance! Would definitely agree with the "intermediate to advanced" label for this one. I cannot say enough great things about this workout. I will probably think about others of hers in the future. This will go into my regular rotation. Try it....not for the weak of heart, mind or body.

I ordered all 3 new Peak 10 dvd''s and have tried 2 so far. Wow! It''s very intense. If this was my first time working out I would quit, but since I''ve been doing her old dvds for several months, I felt comfortable pushing myself to finish the workouts. I would consider this ideal if you''re intermediate to advanced. It''s great because you can start out with light weights and increase as you get stronger. I like the build up intensity intervals of cardio and strength training. It''s amazing and I would highly recommend this to get toned and tight all over. It''s tough, but I found myself actually looking forward to the next workout to see if I can push myself even further. Love it!

I enjoyed this workout and found it to be a great workout. I do think I like the prior Peak 10 Cardio Strength workout slightly better but this is good to mix it up. It does really work the abs with several of the moves. I was feeling it in the obliques the next day. I got a great workout and will find I will use this DVD often.

Stamina AeroPilates Reformer with Free-Form Cardio Rebounder

Stamina AeroPilates Reformer with Free-Form Cardio RebounderThis is a good sturdy quality piece of equipment. I was afraid it might not be stable and function like some of the larger or more expensive reformers. This definitely holds it''s own and I''m glad I got this one because I can keep it by the wall and then easily slide it over for the workout. All of the parts work smoothly. As far as the trampoline in the lying down position, I need to start slowly or I get a little nauseous. Most importantly, I have a herniated disc in my center back and the Pilates exercises are helping me enormously. I highly recommend it.

This reformer is a great value for the money. I regularly do pilates at my gym with a personal trainer, so I am used to being on some of the most expensive machines. When I decided to get a reformer for my home, I was very concerned about how well one of the less expensive machines would functions, particularly because I''m not a small woman. I have fallen in love with this machine. It was easy to put together. I did it by myself in 15-20 minutes. Since receiving the machine, I''ve used it almost ever day and have no complaints. I feel comfortable that it will hold up to my continued use.

I purchased this with alot of reservation. First, it is better made than I thought it would be. Second, it functions as well as the very pricey ones ($2000.00 and up). I started taking private one-on-one lessons on a reformer manufactured by Balanced Body and have learned how to use the machine. In the beginning, I couldn''t keep up the DVD''s, but now that I have had my private lesson ($53.00 an hour), I can do the DVD successful. Doing the private lesson really paid off in the long run, especially since it is cheaper to purchase the DVD instead of forking out the big bucks every 10 lessons.

I also purchased a long/short box, pole, and foot strap to use on the reformer with the corresponding DVD. These 3 pieces of equipment provides more a variety of excercise on the reformer. *This style doesn''t have all of the bells and whistles you would find on a reformer that is several thousand dollars, but not everyone needs all of the fancy stuff.

The set up was tricky, and it weighs over 100 lbs. Be sure to set it up in the room you plan on using it in. It is difficult to move once it is set up. It is is my basement accross from my 19 inch DVD HDTV. I put in the DVD and do the workout for 30 minutes. It workouts great for me.

Even my husband was shock in the decent quality. Really, what would you expect for $500.00? It worked better than we all thought. Kudos to Stamina!

I am a Pilates Reformer instructor and I wanted to pick one up for my house, but I don''t have enough time at home for a $2,000 machine (since I can go to the gym for access).

The bad first: It is what it is. There are very few physical adjustments available, however at 5''3, I fit well into the machine so that is not a problem for me, just a flaw in general. The weights are by bungee cords, not springs, so the resistance doesn''t vary much between bungees (as it would on a reformer with springs such as a studio Allegro). It does not have wheels to roll and it sits high off the ground (good for some exercises, but not good if I want to store it or if doing unstable exercises that high).

The positive: The machine works fine. I use it to try new (basic) exercises and it works well for my needs. The exercises I know are easily achieved on the machine, the straps are comfortable and the machine is relatively silent. I only used the jumping board/dvd, which I liked (and is harder than one would think). The resistances do range from easy to hard (I just wish there were more variations than 4 steps). There is nothing I actually dislike about the machine, I only wish there was a little more variety to position and weight.

I have no regrets in purchasing this machine and I enjoy using it. Considering the cost, this machine is a good investment for someone who uses it occasionally (I am not sure how it will wear over time) and wants to get basic exercises down.

I purchased this product several weeks ago. I am amazed at how wonderful it is. The platform and hand straps glide smoothly and quietly. The machine and platform were easy to assemble. (Be sure to assemble where you are going to have it set up as it is heavy. Also be sure that the pin that holds the platform in place is secure so the platform does not glide and pinch your fingers as you unfold the machine.) I am currently using Level I Pilates and Level I Rebounder videos and they are quite challenging. I think this machine will be great forever. There is also a chart that comes with many exercises shown so you do not even need the video. I like the platform as you can vacuum underneath it and do not have to move anything. I am 62 with bad knees and feel very comfortable with both the rebounder and the motion of the pilates.

Everlast Pink Women''s Grappling Training Glove

Everlast Pink Women''s Grappling Training GloveGreat quality and good cushioning for my knuckles! I definitely recommend! If you need the padding but hate the bulk of regular boxing gloves, this is the product to buy!

I bought these, because I really only needed my knuckles to be padded, and I didn''t want my hands to get so sweaty in the process of my workout.

I was looking for a pair of boxing gloves that protected my knuckles without the addition of wraps. I had a basic foam pair, but even with wraps I still ended up with bloody knuckles. These protect my wrists and knuckles without wraps and are a perfect fit for my larger female hands.

I did a lot of research before ordering these gloves. I was so excited about the pink boxing gloves until someone mentioned finger length. That had never crossed my mind, but I have fingers like a tree frog, so I turned my attention to these. I was hesitant because they look flimsy, however when I got them and put them on I felt perfection. Excellent support in the wrist, firm and adequate cushioning to keep your hands from hurting on impact or being sore the next day, but not so much as to make you clumsy. A bonus, you can still use your fingers of you need to change the radio station or send a quick text. Absolutely a recommend!

Had a hard time finding grappling gloves that didn''t have reviews complaining about the size being off. I could only find these in small/medium or large/x-large. People with small hands were saying the small/medium were too small and to go a size bigger. So that''s what I did and they are a bit too big. On another product, I saw someone recommend getting wrapping tape and buying bigger gloves so you could make them fit. I did buy the tape and will see how that goes.

The gloves are a little stiff, hoping that works out with use. The quality seems pretty good too. I don''t see anything glaringly obvious that would suggest a problem.

FYI, my review rating is based on the quality of the gloves, not the size/fit. If I had gone by the chart, a small/medium is probably what I needed and it is my own fault for listening to the reviews. However, on the other hand, fellow reviewers may be right about buying bigger and making them fit with tape.

I haven''t tested the gloves yet (hope to tonight) and if they feel like the stiffness will work out, then I will up them a star. If there is something wrong with them after I use them, I will come back and adjust the rating.

Sunny Health & Fitness Magnetic Recumbent Bike

Sunny Health & Fitness Magnetic Recumbent BikeWhen I was deciding on a recumbent bike, it came down to this one and the Mary Recumbent Mag Cycle. I chose this one because it had a pulse reader on it. The only thing that I do not like about this bike is that when "scanning" between the time, distance, pace, total, and calories... it doesn''t go to pulse. You have to press "Mode" and then it starts to calculate your pulse. No matter if your fingers are already on the pulse, it will still start from 72 and take a minute or so to calculate.

Other than that, my husband and I have had great work outs on the machine. The tension knob is not numbered, but it tells you to twist left if you want less tension, and twist right if you want more. This is not calculated into your calories burned, which is another downside. However, I know the amount of tension I am comfortable with and as long as I get my hour in every day around a certain pace, I feel great about my work out.

It is definitely worth the great price!

We bought this bike (our second) for a small+light workout bike to place in front of the TV. I have to say that I am terribly disappointed with it.

For starters, it is a tiny bike. The seat is probably just 14-16 inches off the ground. Which means that even a medium-height person will find it difficult to sit on the bike without getting their knees jammed into the front console. Next, is the feel. It feels light and flimsy in general. While i would not expect a cheap bike like this to feel sturdier, this feels especially light.

But my biggest gripe is about the tension adjustment. It is NON-existent. When we set up the bike, there was no tension, even at the maximum level, so, we opened up the bike and readjusted everything (really, just a wire that goes into the console). While the tension went up marginally, it could not be adjusted at different levels. This results in a very very dissatisfying ''workout,'' if you can call it that. More like sitting and waving your legs.

This is the kind of bike you should never buy. Not on a budget, not because you need a small bike etc. In my opinion, something like the Marcy Recumbent Magnetic Cycle is probably much better, although just a few dollars more. I have that and am very pleased with it so far.

This bike, on the other hand, is just a big mistake that is now just sitting in my family room, annoying me.

Very easy to assemble, wonderful performance, comfortable seat, easy to use, and quality of the material.

I love using it in the morning (not evening, because I noticed it''s hard for me to fall asleep after the exercise). It''s very good for the knees.

This bike is adjustable you can control the tension and adjust the bike size to your height (make the bike shorter of longer). And, it''s not huge, you can keep it in any room it doesn''t take much space.

I''d recommend this bike to everyone! The big advantage is you can use it any time, in any weather, unlike the regular bicycles (I don''t mean it''s better, but more convenient for people who don''t spend much time outdoors).

Not too hard to assemble. Good for shorter people. I''m 5''1" and don''t have it adjusted all the way forward. Not sure how it would be for taller folks. The tension does not tighten very much. I may check my assembly to see if something isn''t quite right.

Ader Vinyl Kettlebell

Ader Vinyl KettlebellI love Ader kettlebells. I''m glad they decided to make a vinyl coated kettlebell. The handle on the Aders is just about the best there is. The handle is textured, but smooth, and the wider width makes it so comfortable for two hand swings. The spacing between the handle and the bell is perfect for cleans and snatches as the bell falls just where it needs to be. The kettlebell itself is sturdy and the vinyl coating protects it from damage and provides more of a cushion on your arm when it''s resting there. Highly recommend this kettlebell.

The handles are smooth (easy on the hands) and the vinyl covering helps to protect my floors.

I''m pleased with the purchase.

Model-5o1c7.16 Pc of Gym323® 226lbs of Extreme Resistance Band Set

Model-5o1c7.16 Pc of Gym323® 226lbs of Extreme Resistance Band Set for Men And Women with D.L.TDVD And O-8 Shaped included.I bought these to start interval trianing. I did a lot of reasearch on which ones to buy since there are a ton out there. This set was priced better than most others and also included the round and "figure 8" bands that other sets did not have. VERY high quality. I am a big guy (6''0" 285''bs.) and used to power lift and this set is way more than enough for me. In fact, I primarily use the black and red bands combined and that is it. Oh, it is awesome that you can combine them for more and more resistance. You can''t do that with a lot of other sets. Compact and easy to store out of the way.

As a starter set, this is excellent. I started using these because since I stopped being able to go to the gym, I lost muscle. Once i started to use this however, I did regain some muscle mass and it provided for a quick and efficient work out the I enjoyed along with P90X. Some of the bands however do not feel as if they were calibrated with the proper wait but some band matching solved the problem. Overall a good set to maintain yourself in shape.

Fitbit Zip Wireless Activity Tracker

Fitbit Zip Wireless Activity Tracker, BlueI have had the original Fitbit for a couple of years, and I''ve always loved it. My ONLY complaint was having to turn on my computer to charge and synch it. In these days of tablets, I barely use my computer anymore, so it was irritating.

The Fitbit Zip solves these problems. No charging necessary except for changing out the battery now and then, and synching is awesome via Bluetooth straight to the Fitbit app on my iphone. No computer necessary now.

Do be aware that if you have been stationary for a while (watching TV for example), the Fitbit display goes to sleep, and synching may not work. But just tap the screen lightly and it will then wake up and synch.

Another thing I like, is that it isn''t even necessary to ever look at the Fitbit screen. I wear mine on my bra, so it can be inconvenient to check my data. But with the Zip, I don''t have to I just open the app on my phone, let it synch, and I have my information.

By the way I had no problems with the battery door. There is a little tool supplied with the Fitbit, and I suppose if you don''t use that you might break the tabs.

Well done, Fitbit.

(Updated Mar 7th 2013)

My life is 8+ hours on a desk every workday. I got a treadmill 6 months ago but find myself often with excuses not to stand on it but rather in front of the computer in my den most of the nights. I crossed shopped the Fitbit one and decided to buy a pair of this Fitbit Zip for me and wify two weeks ago. I got to say, this idea works wonders. Nothing motivates me better than keeping a little score of myself. Now I know I walk 4k~5k a day and I spend ~30 minutes everyday at home to walk that extra couple miles to get my 10k steps. Already lost 2 lbs. My wife hits almost 12k a day and I don''t know if I''m able to catch her soon.

Let me tell you why the Zip is perfect, rather than a pedometer, or the better Fitbit One model:

1. It IS a pedometer that is zero-maintenance! That is the single most important feature. It has no buttons and requires nothing from you other than keeping it on yourself. It auto-resets to zero at midnight and constantly syncs data online. Old school pedometers need to be reset and recorded manually, enough for lazy people like me to stay away.

2. It syncs with my iPhone 4s using the low-power Bluetooth 4.0 (by the way a very new, high-tech mode) about every 40 minutes or every time when I fire up the Fitbit app. Again nothing is needed from me. This single handedly beats all the Nike band, Jawbone Up or the old Fitbit where you need to plug in something to sync. One thing to note: the iPhone Fitbit app does not sync to the Fitbit Zip in the background by default, just remember to go into its settings and turn it on. When on, the app doesn''t need to be in the front. You don''t even see the Fitbit in the Bluetooth device list. Everything just works.

3. No charging cable. This is the key feature that makes me proud of my decision away from the Fitbit One. It''s just one less hassle to deal with, one less routine to remember to do. Being lazy as I am, I will probably forget to charge the Fitbit One''s rechargeable batteries every once in a while and grow excuse not to exercise. Again the CR2025 coin battery for the Zip lasts several months (not tested yet for obvious reasons but it''s still full after 2 weeks on mine) that''s basically forever in today''s tech gadget language. These batteries are $2 for a 5 pack on Amazon so cost isn''t an issue.

So all in all, Fitbit Zip is a glorified pedometer but one that can be clipped on and forgotten without any hassle of clicking, charging or syncing. It''s truly changed my lifestyle as a lazy person. Highly recommended.

Oh by the way, I don''t understand the negative reviews on the battery door: I opened and installed the battery on two Fitbit Zips within 3 minutes, using the provided tool (really a plastic quarter). No problem whatsoever. Could it be a bad batch of devices those people got?

March 7, 2013, update on battery life: it''s been exactly 4 months since beginning of December and one of our Fitbits shows the "Low Battery" sign today with a notification on the iphone as well. I looked up Fitbit''s website and this means it has 25% battery life left. A flashing battery sign will mean changing it immediately and I''ll wait till then to do it. This is after average use of 12k steps a day.

I remember the carefree days of the Tamogotchi, where a tiny LCD face told me about personal responsibility, and more importantly, the tragedy of neglect. Oh no, my tiny LCD creature is sickly, for I have forgotten to eliminate its foul, digital waste! Oh no, I have starved yet another ducklike beast near to death due to my incompetence as a plastic bauble owner.

The Fitbit Zip has many Tamogotchi-like qualities, with one major difference: when its simplified emoticon face shows disgust at you, it is because you have failed yourself.

Many a lazy Sunday have I woken up from a pleasing, decadent afternoon nap, to see the little guy judging me from his silicon throne: ":P" Oh god, I thought. I could have been wandering aimlessly around my house, probably between my couch and fridge.

And yet, post-workout, he feeds me his genuine, electronic glee at my activity: ":D" YES. Finally. The callous but potent validation that keeps me motivated to continue plodding through my otherwise dreary life.

Because I clip him to my bra strap, he is literally a demon that sits on my shoulder. One time, furious at his intercession in my otherwise sedentary lifestyle, I yelled, "Are you happy now, you little a**hole?" My boyfriend thought I was referring to him, and we had a fight. (-1 star.)

But seriously.

+ Good motivator, great online support.

+ I haven''t had the battery case problems reported elsewhere.

+ Convenient, and easy to remember to carry around.

Cat thinks it is a toy, sometimes steals it.

Registers steps accurately, but an hour of Zumba is disappointingly low compared to an hour of walking.

May cause internal strife at home.

I am new to Fitbit. My wife and I both picked them up and have been using them for a few days. So far I am happy with the product. It seems to log my steps accurately. I like the small size as its only about 50% larger than a quarter. This makes it extremely easy to wear and hide because after all I don''t want to advertise that I am wearing a very fancy pedometer.

The website and phone software are very well done. This is important as they are a big part of the product. I have an Android phone so my mobile app doesn''t sync with my Zip as of now but the feature is supposed to be on its way. Its really no issue as the sync software was easy to install and the USB dongle is easily left in the computer. My Zip just syncs automatically when I am near my computer and makes things quite convenient.

Battery Door:

I know there are many reviews about the door being fragile. I have not had this issue. I do notice that the color of the door doesn''t match the device very well. I am guessing that they may have addressed the issue with a new plastic. Please comment if your doors color is off and you have this issue.

"Touch Screen"

This one had me a little upset at first. I was trying to touch the screen to cycle the mode and had no success. The trick is it isn''t a touch screen device at all! This thing has a very accurate accelerometer in it. It is sensing a jolt not a touch. I have found a quick tap with a fingernail is the best way to cycle the modes. You can even just flick the side and it will cycle as well. This made the device usable don''t try to touch.

I am happy with the device/software. I can easily recommend this product to anyone looking to help them track progress or gain encouragement by competing with friends or earning badges.

I''ve been an on and off user of Fitbit''s gadgets for about four years now, and they''ve been really effective in motivating me to get outside and walk. For those unfamiliar with these wonderful trackers, Fitbit offers two options-the Fitbit Zip, a $60 LCD display tracker reminiscent of your latest Apple device that tracks steps, calories burned, and distance, or the Fitbit One, an all-in-one tracker that shows your steps, calories burned, stairs climbed, and can track your sleeping pattern through the included wrist band. Still available (surprisingly) is the good old Fitbit Ultra; the Ultra has the same features as the One, but is bit more prone to breaking (or so was my experience).

Fitbit also offers a free food tracking service when you buy any of its devices and I can happily report that it is very useful. You enter every bite of food or and sip of drink that passes your lips for the day and the program compares your calorie intake to the data your Fitbit device has collected to give you an allotted calorie amount for the day. When it''s used consistently, it''s a great tool, and Fitbit is working hard to improve their mobile app (it was previously nearly useless) and has added Bluetooth to the Zip and the One to synch with your iPhone or Android phone as you walk so you can see if that trip to the 99 is really worth it. You can choose from several programs to meet your goal weight. Easy, Kinda Hard, and Hard. They each demand varying amounts of calorie deficits from you-mix and match to find the program that suits you best.

Today I discovered, much to my horror, that I washed my Zip today because I had forgotten it was clipped to some jeans I wore over the weekend. I''ve killed no fewer than three Fitbit Ultra''s before so I sighed and prepared to dispose of my tiny buddy. To my happy surprise, I picked it up and was greeted with the Zip''s adorable LCD emoticon face that gets happier the more you exercise. It had survived! I can''t speak for the Fitbit One, but the Zip has a screw-on battery compartment on the back-the fact that it made it through a wash AND dry cycle is simply amazing to me. Maybe it''s a sign from the fitness gods that I need to get my butt off the computer and exercise more....

No matter how you slice it, the Fitbit is an affordable solution in the world of fitness trackers going for $150+. The trackers are cute and almost unnoticeable under a shirt so you won''t have to explain to your partner/family/coworkers what that wonky device you''re wearing is. If you use the nutrition service consistently I guarantee you will lose weight. The Zip''s LCD emoticon will make you smile after you''re kicking yourself for walking that last two miles, and the device itself has been beefed up to withstand some water and impact abuse.

PROS: Inexpensive. Tiny and well designed. Effective if used consistently.

CONS:Easy to lose, easy to wash! Difficult to remember to log your food over extended periods of time as device nor app remind you.

Spinervals Flexible Warrior 5.0 - Foam Roll Stretch & Recover

Spinervals Flexible Warrior 5.0 - Foam Roll Stretch & RecoverIt''s hard to find foam roller workouts so when I found this one I ordered it. I was not disappointed. It not only works all your muscles, it has a segment to massage them out as well! I would recommend it to anyone wanting to explore foam roller workouts or with tight muscles that need working out. Foam rollers are a great way to massage your entire body. I have a lot of trouble with tight shoulders and neck as well as hips. When I use the foam roller on a regular basis, the tightness is gone! It''s ALMOST better than getting a massage! The video is easy to follow with good instruction and isn''t too long. Give it a try, the only thing you have to lose is tight muscles!

I have been on the lookout for a dvd to use with my foam roller. This was recommended to me, so I decided to try it. Yes, it is slightly expensive, but it covers so much. You can pick and choose among the stretches to make it what you want it. I did the nearly hour long session today, and it just left me feeling so good and relaxed. My favorite is when I roll my back, and just feel every delicious "pop, pop, pop" like going to the chiropractor in your own home. Really love this one :)

ASICS Men''s Thermopolisxp Running Pants

ASICS Men''s Thermopolisxp Running Pants,BLACK,LHave ran in these pants in 20 degrees with wind at 15 to 20 mph and I wasn''t freezing. Ran with them in 35 degrees and wind 10 to 15 and they where just perfect warm but not hot.

Great heat retention and wind resistance. Very comfortable with no binding, the interior is very soft against the skin. Easy to use as a warm-up pant, warm enough to use in place of winter running tights. Side pockets are very useful for holding gels or keys. My only wish was that there was a little more reflective material on it, since it tends to be dark when I run in these, and visibility and safety always go together. Highly recommended.

RYKA Women''s Desire Running Shoe

RYKA Women''s Desire Shoe,Dark Pink/White/Yellow,8.5 M USI bought this shoe at a local shoe store. Had never heard of the name, but they looked comfy. I have HORRIBLE problems with foot pain, mainly from plantar fasciitis. I''ve always been told that I need arch supports, etc. Well after doing a LOT Of research, I''ve found that shoes mess our feet up. Walking barefoot helps to strengthen our feet, plus being grounded is very beneficial for our body. I recently started walking barefoot in my yard daily. When I discovered these shoes, they felt like I was barefoot. I have ZERO problems wearing them...NO PAIN in my feet, NONE in my back!!!! They are light & seem to mold to your foot. I plan to buy more colors & hope they make some new designs. I''m even tempted to wear them to church!!!! This shoe is by far, the BEST I have ever worn.

I walked the Charleston bridge in these shoes, sockless! These are so comfortable, easy to slip on, and don''t cause blistering. If you need ankle support, don''t buy these. There is a strap on the heel that I thought would be uncomfortable after a while, but it hasn''t bothered me one bit.

I had originally seen this shoe advertised on another website, but Amazon had a better price. After reading the reviews, I was will slighly hesitant, but now I am thrilled that I got this shoe. I frequently wear this shoe to walk to and from work each day and it is very comfortable. I recently wore it while at the beach and it was great while walking the boardwalk and also in the sand. I love that it doesnt have laces and the elastic allows the shoe to confirm to different sizes of your foot. Highly recommend!

THE BIGGEST LOSER Sculpt & Burn Kit (4-6lbs)

The Biggest Loser Sculpt and Burn Kit - Weighted 4 to 6-Pound Water Ball and Jump RopeThis was purely an impulse buy. Filling the ball took about 10 minutes. You have to keep "burping" it to get more water to go in. Have some patience!

There is no hype, no long instructions, just a color poster with a small amount of instructions under each picture. It says do 2 sets of 15 reps for each picture. I have not exercised for awhile. I start and stop my exercises all the time. So, presently, I am not fit. Let me just say that I only did one set of repetitions and it kicked me! This is great cardio and core strength. I will be sore tomorrow. I think you could expand on these exercises, or use it before a walk or a run. It is simple, no fancy dance steps or annoying people talking to you on a DVD. And it doesn''t take an hour. I will use this in the morning before work! It''s perfect!

This was exactly what I ordered. Many of the previous reviews said that it was difficult to fill, but if you follow the directions, it fills easily. I love this product.

Water Ball is great for ab workouts. The only drawback is that it''s difficult to fill up quickly! I wish I knew of a better way to fill it up. The instructions do not state how often to change the water. Do you have to change the water??

Haven''t used the jumprope yet.

The idea is interesting but you can''t actually fill the ball up with water. The hole that the water is suppose to go into is WAY too small. You would have to use an eye dropper to fill this thing. The jump rope has perma ripples in it from being plastic and stored in a coiled position. There are lots of other exercise balls...get one of those instead.

ThunderBell COMPLETE Training Program: Multi-Grip Weight, Workout DVDs & Guides

ThunderBell COMPLETE Training Program: Multi-Grip Weight, Workout DVDs & GuidesLet me start by saying that you WILL see results from using the Thunderbell. It will be one of the best decisions you make if you are sincere about changing your life in a positive direction.

If you are looking for a workout routine, chances are you''re searching for a way to ''get yourself started'' or need a system that fits your lifestyle. As a former athlete, I had fallen into bad habits and dug such a hole for myself that taking that first step was a challenge in itself. I was embarrassed to take that step in public, and lacked the structure and discipline to do it on my own. It was always ''maybe tomorrow.'' After stumbling across the Thunderbell, I was amazed at how realistic the program is and how it removes the ''thought'' from the process by leading you step by step.

As with any workout program, you have to make the effort. It starts with you. But the Thunderbell does just about everything it can do for you except lacing up your shoes. And I promise, if you follow the guide and stick with it, you WILL see the results and be so happy. The workouts are challenging, but not overwhelming. The Food/Nutrition guide was a tremendous and necessary resource, and the Calender tells you what to do each day. Within a week or two, I was seeing the benefits on the scale...and was soon losing several pounds a week. I am happy to say that a quick 90 days later I had lost over 35 lbs and was sporting a much toned body, a renewed mentality and spirit and incorporating much healthier choices into my daily life. There is nothing more motivating than when your friends start noticing the difference in your appearance, and trust me...they will. All you have to do is follow the guide and stick with it.

I can also say that this program is suitable for both males and females. Guys, you will drop lbs and tone; the workouts will get you. Ladies, the lower weight/high reps/movements will leave you slender and toned. And the transformation all starts in the privacy of your own living room. After the 90-day completion, I have even ''re-started'' the program and am working through my second cycle.

I have recommended the Thunderbell to several friends, will continue to do so, and can tell you with 100% sincerity that it works.

Just received my Thunderbell from Woot!. It came with the Thunderbell and 2 DVDs (Level 1, Level 2, Bonus Core, & Training).

Pros:

You definitely feel it all throughout your core!!

Takes up minimal space

No assembly required (I was nervous that I would have to screw the 2 disks onto the bar), which is great because there are no parts that will loosen as you workout

Not boring (I''ve done P90X: Tony Horton''s 90-Day Extreme Home Fitness Workout DVD Program, INSANITY: 60-Day Total Body Conditioning Workout DVD Program, INSANITY: The ASYLUM 30 Day Sports Training Workout DVD Program, Tae Bo, & Bryan Kest Power Yoga Complete Collection). I was looking for something to unbore me with my current DVD selections (Bryan Kest hasn''t gotten boring) and I think this fits the bill. Because it requires you to properly learn how to use it, you stay pretty focused throughout the workout.

Cons:

Not sure if this is a con, or a warning, but, if you''re not seriously careful, it''s easy to hurt yourself with the Thunderbell. It''s better to slow down the moves in order to ensure you have COMPLETE control than to swing it and yourself (or something else) and twist in a dangerous way with a 10lb moving object.

The DVDs and calendar (which you have to download) are a bit bootleg (though they get the job done just not fancy like the big name home workout systems) and I found it slightly confusing to follow due to the naming convention of the videos.

I don''t feel they gave you a "start here" point once you opened the Thunderbell. I had to scan through the DVDs to figure out what to do first. I''m a bit impatient, but forced myself to go through the video showing all the handgrips. I tried to follow along, but some of the moves went too fast (and I''m pretty coordinated)

If you''re not coordinated, it will be a bit of a challenge to follow the instructional video showing the basic moves. I don''t think the demonstrators understand when they say "put you''re right foot out," they have to put their left foot out so the viewer can mirror them (hope that made sense). It was a bit of a challenge to follow along with the vocal cues AND the physical demonstrations.

I look forward to seeing my results as I progress. I''m not sure if I will actually follow the calendar they provide. Since it''s a full body workout, I will probably treat it as such and incorporate it with other home workout systems/DVDs I own. I can''t speak on the nutritional guide that''s also downloadable in the "members area." As a Weight Watcher, I''ve had and continue to have much success with that plan.

As a runner, cyclist, and 14 year group fitness/aerobic instructor, I have found the Thunderbell by Teeter, to be a great full body workout. What I like best about Thunderbell is the overall fitness routine; it tones and builds strength, while maintaining aerobic endurance. If you are like me and tend to do a lot of cardio (running, cycling, etc.) while not making as much time for lifting (which is important), Thunderbell will add in the weight training piece you are missing and improve your overall fitness level.

The DVDs are easy to follow and you can get in a substantial workout in a short time, which is great if you have a busy schedule. Throughout my years in the fitness industry, I have tried many fitness programs and this program is definitely one of the best for an overall full body workout. Cardio and strength building, which are the two primary components of a successful workout routine, are coupled together in Thunderbell. No matter what your fitness level or goals are, you will see results with Thunderbell.

I love the concept of the Thunderbell, it is a great workout device which totally takes training to the next level. When you are first getting started the videos are great and will give you about 3 months of solid training which will get you lean and fit if you also follow a sound nutrition program (they also have an awesome nutrition program). After 3 months you can follow on-line workout sites to expand your fitness regime and come up with creative HIIT programs for yourself. For most people the standard weight of 10lbs is sufficient but I am looking forward to their debut of heavier weights. As a personal trainer, nutritionist, and yoga instructor I recommend Thunderbell to anyone who wants a simple at home program that will deliver results and expand their awareness of how to train their body. I also recommend Thunderbell to gyms I train at because it enhances anyones gym workout, being that it can be used in so many ways.

I purchased Thunberbell after a friend recommended it. As a triathlete and runner, I was looking for a supplementary workout I could do from my home that would tone and build muscle. I can say without reservation that Thunderbell was what I was looking for. Not only do I love the size of the product (unlike many other home gym products, Thunderbell does not take up any room at all) but the beginning workouts were perfect. I also liked the time commitment, I can do a quick Thunderbell workout in about 15 minutes, which as a father of three is great! After the first workout I could feel how it worked all of my muscle groups. I highly recommend this product!

Gold''s Gym Long Series Resistance Tube Kit with Workout DVD

Gold''s Gym Long Series Resistance Tube Kit with Workout DVDThe Gold''s Gym Long Series Resistance Tube Kit includes three light bands of varying resistances that can be clipped, one at a time or all at once, to the plastic and foam handles, as well as a workout DVD.

Let me say first of all that I''m pretty advanced I use all three bands at once for every exercise I do (although I would guess that all three bands together are only about equivalent to Lifeline''s R6 cable).

I bought these bands for about fifteen bucks at Walmart to be my compact travel set, and in that capacity they''ve been generally satisfactory. But I wouldn''t want to use them every day.

For one thing, they don''t have the most fluid range of stretch. For exercises that require the bands to be stretched pretty far, like a squat or standing chest fly, the bands catch and tug, and so you don''t get a full or consistent range of motion.

For another thing, the bands have fabric sheathes designed to protect the rubber from abrasion. Yet these quickly get bunched and off-center, which is annoying when you''re trying to do any exercise where you stand on the bands. You may just want to take a scissors to them.

This kit also includes a 39-minute workout DVD featuring Mia Finnegan. Finnegan, who is scary buff, takes you through a variety of stretches, cardio exercises, and strength-building exercises. I''ve found the Barry''s Bootcamp workout DVDs to be vastly superior, though; I watched this one once, picked up two or three new exercises, and I''ve never used it since.

For the money, this kit is decent, but if you''re looking for something to use every day, you''re probably going to want something else. Try Lifeline USA instead.

I use these before I do my strength trainingthey''re great for stretching out. I''ve used them for actual strength training a couple of times toobut the weight resistance is a bit light for me on some of the exercises, like chest workouts. The major issue that I have with resistance tubes/bands is that when I step on the bands and do curls/shoulder presses/shoulder raises/etc., I never know if I''m standing dead-center on the bands. So, I cannot determine if I am using equal resistance on both arms/shoulders. To counter this with biceps curls, sometimes, I''ll hold both of the handles in one hand and do my curls with the full resistance on one arm, and then switch arms. It''s a little less comfortable, but at least that way I know that I''m getting an even/symmetrical workout. I give these 4 stars because they are really convenient, inexpensive, and durable.

After having used Spri''s bands for a few years, I was in a band and needed something ASAP. Purchased these at Wal-mart ant the only decent thing were the handles.

To begin with, this item was not labelled correctly so you could not tell the difference between the medium resistance and heavy. It''s obvious red was light. Maybe I missed it, but I looked very here even online.

The plastic clip left a lot too be desired. I feel it''s only a matter of time before it snaps mid-workout.

The cloth around the band is not a good idea. Maybe it was to prevent the cheap material from tear, but it does inhibit movement on some workouts. You have to push the cloth so it''s out of he way before you can step on it. If not, the resistance on both ends will be uneven.

The bands themselves flt strange. They did not resist as much and you could feel the point when they reached their max stretching point does not take too long to get there. For a few seconds it resists, then it just feels like a rope.

The only decent thing about this band is the foam handle.

I''ve used this twice and plan to return it. Not worth it. I''ve used spri in the past and while they''re decent, they don''t last lore than 9 months or so of heavy use. Also, their handles could be better.

I went ahead and ordered the bodylastics set. They''re more expensive, but I''ve read great things about them. They''re durable, stackable, great handles, and the company seems solid. they last a bit maybe 8 or 9 months of daily use, but are effective. Wort case scenario, the bands can be replaces for $6 total if thy snap rather than the $11 I spend on spri.

as said in my title this set is perfect for anyone that''s looking for a easy workout that doesn''t consume more than 15 mins.

picked this set of resistance bands up about 3 years back and love them, im pretty average (6''1 220) and these bands work out everything i need to get done, the abs, triceps, shoulders, chest forearms and legs the best part is you never have to sit or lay down while doing it.!!there are a few things that you might want to be careful about such as the bands snapping, while working out 1 day i was using all three bands and in mid rep one snapped just missing my eye,the handles the bands come attached to wear out QUICK which leaves you using the rough handles and can cut into your hands!!.

all bad sides said this is a great set that i plan on buying again in the future.

Sunny SF-B1110 Indoor Cycling Bike

Sunny SF-B1110 Indoor Cycling BikeI spotted some spinning bikes at my gym which made me curious. The gym "spinning" classes are at 6 AM and 12 noon. No way that is going to happen for me.

So I bought this Sunny Spinning Bike on a lark installed it in my basement and cancelled my gym membership which I barely used anyway. I am making money on this deal!

I cannot compare this bike to any "spinner" bike that you would find at a gym since I have zero experience there but as someone who during summer rides my 1975 Motobecane road bike 10-15 miles on a daily basis while wearing flip flops I can say this:

Bike was packed quite well

Bike was easy to assemble with just the tools provided

All nuts and bolts etc were in four plastic bags labeled step 1 to 4 so assembly was super easy

I am 5'' 7" and was able to find good seat and hand positions on this bike

Resistance knob is very sensitive for me; a minor tweak will increase resistance rapidly

I looked at the other Sunny bikes and picked this one for the handle bars which offer quite a few positions

Only complaint is that the included water bottle is POS but who cares not a big deal

Anyway I bought a "spinner class" video which is a great motivator and sometimes I just "spin" to TV or the news. The perspiration pours out.

Color me quite satisfied.

I bought this thing for my wife who loves to spin. It''s pretty simple to set up and is a fairly solid build. It spins smoothly although definitely not as quiet and smooth as the more expensive bikes I''ve tried. It''s not noisy though, either. It''s heavy enough to not move around while you''re riding it and it''s also really super easy to move (when you want to) thanks to the two littles wheels on the front base. My wife likes the heavier wheel on it as compared to some of the cheaper smaller bikes. As one other reviewer noted, the handlebars wiggle around a bit and, unfortunately for them, they didn''t figure out that you can fix it by jamming a couple wood shims (from your local home improvement store) on both sides of the post up from the bottom of the neck. I did this and it''s been totally fine ever since and much more solid than without. We ditched the pedals and just put SPD''s on it so I can''t tell you what the stock pedals are like; they''re still in the plastic. The pedals going into the cranks don''t seem as perfectly squared as my more expensive mountain bike but it''s not a problem. It works well for someone in the 5''5" 5''9" range but I''m not so sure it would be safe to setup for someone in the 6''+ range unless you are OK with the racing bicyclist positioning (low handlebars) due to the handlebars needing to be pulled up higher making the stability issue more prevalent. All in all I think it was well worth the money although I see that it is now more expensive than when we bought it. Still probably a good deal for the current price and certainly much cheaper than the next level of bike.

Conclusion: I would recommend this to a friend unless you have disposable cash and can afford the pro stuff. It''s good enough to get results and won''t break the bank.

I have been a Spinning Instructor for over 15 years. I bought this bike for my own personal home use and I absolutely LOVE IT!!!!!!! This bike rides just as smooth and efficient as the very expensive commercial brand. Ships fast and super easy assembly. I am 5''2" and it fits me perfectly. My husband is 6''2" and it''s just a tad bit small for him. Still I''m very impressed with this bike and it takes a lot to impress me. Spin on Spinners......Ride it like you stole it!!!!!!!!

After a lot of research, I put this bike on my Christmas list. My parents bought it for me, and my husband put it together. He had a few issues with parts, but he said they were very accommodating about sending him new pieces. The bike is fantastic. The seat is adjustable up and down and back and forth, and so are the handlebars. The bike is very quiet and if it''s not, you can adjust the cover to make it quiet. It gives me a great workout, and it was at a wonderful price right after Thanksgiving. It''s a very sturdy bike. I thought I would need different shoes and a seat cover, but the seat is just fine (my butt doesn''t hurt), and my feet don''t bother me just wearing regular running shoes. Great purchase!

Let me start this review by saying I am not an experience cyclist or have attended spinning classes before. So those experienced with these sort of bikes may want to take my review with a grain of salt. That being said I''m extremely pleased with my purchase.

The bike came almost entirely pre-assembled which was a plus. It took me about 10-15 minutes to put together. All you have to do is attach the seat, handlebars, pedals, and the feet of the bike. Also I found the seat to be pretty comfortable. I ordered a gel cover with my bike because I had seen alot of people complain about the seat, but the seat is fine as-is I likely won''t use the cover.

In terms of noise there is very little if any noise coming from the bike. I had seen reviews complaning about rattling with other sunny bikes. At least on my bike all seems well. There was a small blemish on the wheel that was causing some noise but i was able to scrape it off easier with a kitchen sponge. The bike was very stable during use and had more than enough resistance for me. (26 year old male, bit of a weakling though.) I would recommend this bike to anyone looking for just something to get some exercise on at a decent price, ($246 when I bought it).
