GRIP POWER PADS - ALTERNATIVE TO GYM GLOVES, Weight Lifting Straps & Gloves

GRIP POWER PADS - ALTERNATIVE TO GYM GLOVES, Weight Lifting Straps & GlovesI know a lot of weight lifters subscribe to the "manly suck it up and don''t complain about bruises" method, but when your barbell begins to cause bruising over the bones in your palm, that philosophy is no longer manly, just dumb. Bruisng the fascia over the metatarsals can take months to heal and since most of us DO use our hands for other things, it makes no sense to "just suck it up".

These work really well for increasing your dead lifting weight too, since they grip quite snugly and reduce the amount of finger strength and forearm strain required for larger weight values.

They''re big enough for all size hands since you can flip them sideways and the grips still wrap fully around an olympic bar. Double them over for bench pressing or overhead press and you get even better padding and equal grip. A good alternative to wrist straps that dislocate your wrist from the hand or gloves that slide around.

I just tried these out for the first time in a Tabata style pull up and kettle bell training. I''m 5''5 and don''t have big hands and these things cover nearly my entire palm. My initial concern was this would be a problem.

Not a problem at all. I did kipping pull ups for 8 rounds and these things worked out great. Previously I used Lynx grips. No real issue with them, but I wanted to try something else out (plus they don''t have free shipping on these from Amazon). I tried these out with kettle bell swings too (Tabata style).

So far I prefer these to the Lynx grips. Since they compress when gripped, they feel thinner than the Lynx grips and have more coverage on your palm. I don''t usually use grips on KB swings unless I''m doing high volume, but these grips were much more comfortable when doing the swings...I only had to use one grip.

I''ll be primarily using these for pull up training and occasionally heavy dead lifts. I''m fairly slack about taking care of my calluses and using these grips should help prevent tears.

So far I''d say thumbs up. If things change I''ll be updating this review.

these little pads are better than weight gloves. Plus, they look a heck of a lot cooler than lame gloves. I do a lot of pull-ups on a metal frame in my gym and my hands are usually trashed after my back workout. But these little guys save my hands from unnecessary calluses and help me knock out more reps than before. Say no to gloves, yes to power pads

I was skeptic, to be honest, because I had always used gloves. To my surprise, the grip pads turned out to be very handy. I like the fact that I don''t have to have my hands cover all the time. I can use the pads just when I''m actually lifting and that''s it; my hands are free the rest of the time. Good stuff.

These pads work better than any gloves I own for lifting. I have a problem with sweaty hands when I workout. My last two pair of gloves have been Bionic''s full length gloves. I purchased these pads for under $10 and I get the best grip I''ve ever had with any gloves or wrist wraps.
