For me the single purpose of such watch is to get "how many laps has I made so far" when I swim a long distance in the pool. But during the swimming it is some pretty useless timer what is shown with no option to switch to laps/strokes display.
This product fails miserably, its advertising is misleading. The lap/strokes is actually counted in background but not shown during the swimming, only when you press Stop button. And when you press Stop and the watch finally shows you number of laps/strokes the counter resets to zero so you could not continue count, only memorize current progress and start the watch counter over. USELESS! WASTE OF MY MONEY!

I just bought this watch off another page straight through Amazon. The description says the watch has a stopwatch and alarm feature but it does not. It is also limited to pool lengths of 25m or 50m no yards and no open water. The buttons are supposed to work at a depth of 1m or less but they rarely work just an inch below the surface. It is bigger and bulkier than I thought it would be and not very comfortable or attractive for use outside of the pool. And last but not least, it does not even display your lap count or distance swam while the counter is active! It shows only your stroke count and measures how long you have been swimming (but don''t stop for more than 30sec or it will time out). The buttons and their labels are frustrating/confusing too. It seems to work okay within all those constraints so I gave it two stars.

It''s just unfathomable that they went to the trouble of creating this watch, and not have the default display as the current lap count. The only way you can''t view the lap count is to stop swimming and then stop the counter, once you have done this the lap count and the other statistics such as stroke count and the swim time, all reset back to 0 and you have to start from scratch again. Ridiculous.Want Oregon Scientific SW202 Swimming Watch, Black Discount?
-I tried to calibrate it and I followed the directions step by step and somehow the calibration option is invisible because it is not where to be found. In two words, it can not be calibrate it.-Only works for pools of 25m and 50m so if you have a pool of, lets say, 65m (like my gym does) is totally useless.
-Unable to see how many calories and laps I am doing while swimming
-If you stop for more than 30 sec then you are out of lock because it will reset itself
-Too big and not attractive to use outside the pool so now you would have to buy another watch to use in the office.
Too bulky
