Everlast - 2 Station Heavy Bag Stand

Everlast - 2 Station Heavy Bag StandThere are several good aspects of this, the most important being: it does what it''s supposed to do. I use it for my 80lb bag without any problems.

getting the small ticks out of the way:

There were only two downsides, one being it didn''t come with instructions, and two being it was missing one tiny washera 10 cent fix from home depot... but I think I bought a returned item which is why it was missing some pieces, either way you can look up the install guide online... just google "Everlast Punching Bag Stand Install guide" and its the first thing that pops up.

the good:

first off, I''m pretty tall. 6''1'''' and this stand is also quite tall... like, blocking the ceiling fan tall. Wasn''t really an issue, as I put it in the corner where the back support bar (the main bar in the middle) touches the corner of the wall. A corner is nice because it limits movement of the stand, you can prop one heavy weight or even a regular dumbell on the middle bar and unless you''re like... a hossman 5000, it won''t really move. It also has two metal loops on either support bar to the sides of the bag for putting a rubber tie or bungie cord through which will greatly limit the swing of the bag. I suggest using your own tools and not the ones they give you... just to make sure that everything is good and tight, use common sense. before tightening one bolt, make sure the other bolt is also ready to go in the next slot. The stand will come out completely sturdy.

I didn''t bother with the speed bag hook up, which is why i can corner it so well... and I mean, it''s a nice bonus, but I still would prefer a wall mounted bag any day.

Over all it''s legit, and worth getting if you''re on a budget. Unless you love to blow money, there really isn''t much need for a 300 dollar+ stand for home use.

I purchased this Dual Station Heavy Bag Stand 6 months ago and it is holding up real well. I added some weights for stability and it allows me to workout the heavybag and get an awesome cardio workout. I also love the speed bag attachement. It has helped me put more endurance on my arms and allow me to improve my cordination. Five star product!!! I also purchased this cheap heavybag and it looks great.Canvas Heavybag Filled

Compact and strong. This fits easily into a corner in my small room. Very easy to assemble and start some serious boxing. Only downside is that it makes a lot of noise when you are practicing.

Lots of pros and cons about this stand, but the cons are about stands in general and maybe not this one in particular.

Easy to assemble: It took me about half an hour to assemble this stand. The instructions are straightforward, but the tools they provide are pretty crappy. If you have your own tools you''ll get it done a lot faster.

Speed bag platform: The adjustable platform is easy to use and to adjust for height. It includes the swivel and locking triangle ring, you just need to supply the bag.

Heavy bag hanger: The stand is very tall, but using the standard hook, swivel and chain that comes with most heavy bags, the bag is pretty low. I find myself punching down and I''m only 5''7". Taller fighters will be punching down for sure. This is a lot less of a workout than punching up. It''s better if you take out the swivel, but I like having a swivel, so this is a trade off.

Stand: The drawback to using a stand like this instead of hanging the bag from the ceiling is that you can''t do any side-to-side movement without tripping over the feet. At the gym I like to circle the bag to practice weaving and side-stepping my opponent, and this can''t be done with the bag stand.

Overall it''s a good stand. They recommend using 9 25lb weight plates, so you may want to purchase those also so you''re not running out to buy plates once you put it together.

This product would probably be acceptable for teenagers or young people. But as an adult male, even a relative beginner to speed bag boxing, this is an inferior product. I tried to use this piece of equipment for how it was designed, heavy and speed bag, but very early on it was obvious that even with an 80 pound heavy bag (20 pounds under the limit) that this structure would not stand up to the punishment. So, I placed my heavy bag back on my ceiling ring, and continued to use the speed bag portion of the equipment. For a few weeks it was just fine, but as my skill and understanding of speed bag mechanics grew, I could tell that I would need to upgrade sooner than I thought. However, only 3 weeks into its use, I started to understand why I seemed to be outgrowing the product so quickly. It wasnt so much that I was speeding up, it was that the speedbag platform was beginning to break away from the structure in chunks of what look like cardboard (not thick dense wood as it appeared) and was actually slowing down. Then the platform started to wobble more and more off center until it wasn''t even useful. My 10 year old daughter likes to hit it now, and that is about all it is good for at this point.

If you think this is something you are going to do for the longterm, and by that I mean more than a month, I would invest in a semi-professional or professional speedbag structure and find a good way to anchor it in your home. With the punishment and repetitive pounding that it will take from the continuous banging of the speedbag, you need to invest a little more. I understand this now.

Young boys, great product. Young teenagers, good product. Young men, a product. Men, a waste of time.
