ProForm GR 80 Recumbent Exercise Bike

ProForm GR 80 Recumbent Exercise BikeMy doctor finally told me that I needed to lose weight...now! My achy, arthritic knees pretty much narrowed my choices down to a bike or water aerobics, and I don''t see myself going to the pool every day, so I researched recumbent bikes. I purchased this bike because the price was good, and it looked sturdy enough. After one month, I can tell my legs are stronger. I hardly wear a knee brace at all. Plus, I''ve lost nine pounds.

This bike was extremely easy to assemble and doesn''t take up as much room as I thought it would. It is very quiet, even when I use the fan. It is also easy to adjust. The seat is comfortable and it''s not too difficult to get on or off the bike. I''ve played with the resistance levels a bit, and like it that I''ll be able to add extra challenge to my workout as I get more fit.

An added bonus for me is that the bottom of the display has just enough of a lip on it to support a book so I can read while I ride.

Actually ordered this from Sears and picked it up at the store, to avoid any shipping issues. Easy set up in about 1 hour clear instructions. Did first 40-minute ride and it was smooth and very quiet we''ll see how it lasts. I''m 5''2'''' luckily it''s adjustable past the markers on the frame, I had to go beyond the lowest setting. I like this because it''s not too bulky and doesn''t look too cheap. Gave 4 not 5 stars b/c I''ve only done one ride :)

As others have noted, the bike was not horribly bad to put together (an extra set of hands for putting on the seat would have helped-geez). The grinding, scraping noise began for me the very first time I rotated the pedals. Amazing.

So, me having invested 2 hours wrestling with this thing to get it to work at all, and not thrilled at the prospect of disassembling it all and shoving it back in the box for return, I decided to use my mechanical inclination and take the housing apart and carefully figure it out myself rather than send it back. It does say in the instruction manual how to do this yourself (in very small print). I found that the resistance was out of adjustment and followed the instructions on how to get it right. It took me a bit, but I got it!

After that, the bike worked great, BUT I should not have had to spend my own time adjusting a delicate mechanism that should have worked at the start. Very time intensive.

But, it works fine now, speed is great, all seems accurate (except the heart rate monitor--it''s way out of wack, but I don''t expect much accuracy in that department in an inexpensive bike).

All in all? If I had known I''d have to do all I have just to get it to work, I''d definitely pass. Unless you are mechanically inclined and have a LOT of patience, or want to go through the hassle of contacting and waiting on the company to act, I''d look for a different bike.

This is probably the best you can do with a recumbent bike in this price range. It''s a really good little bike with just enough features for anyone who wants to get regular exercise. The operation is quiet and smooth, and the display is very easy to use. My only small complaint is that the heart rate monitor is a little sensitive, and tends to get an incorrect read occasionally. It usually corrects quickly, but sometimes the resistance is raised or dropped incorrectly. Assembly requires two people, which is a little inconvenient, but other than being a bit awkward it was pretty manageable.

I''d definitely recommend this bike to anyone who wanted a recumbent but didn''t want to shell out a huge chunk of money. When I bought this I wasn''t sure how much use I would get out of it, so I didn''t want to put a huge amount of money. As it turns out, I''m getting a lot of use from it, and the bike is absolutely paying for itself.

Fairly simple to assemble. Weighs a good amount (About 100 pounds). So was a little difficult to get the box upstairs initially. The wheels make it very easy to move around once put together. The bike is pretty compact if you need it to be. The seat and seat back seem like they would be the most likely part(s) to break. Not that they will, but I worry about it. I doubt they would hold the weight of the device if you were to move it by putting pressure on the seat or the seat backing. For something that cost this much I would think they would have made that part a little more heavy duty. Overall a great buy though. Just make sure to buy a battery charger and rechargeable D batteries (Since it does not come with any in the box).

ACCUSPLIT AL370 FM Radio Pedometer

ACCUSPLIT AL370 FM Radio PedometerThe pedometer seems to work fine. I find the radio unsatisfactory, however. I also find that it''s too easy to bump a button and make the pedometer talk loudly.

Here are the radio''s flaws:

1) The display on the unit only displays pedometer info (steps/distance/calories/time); it does NOT display radio frequency. Since the radio operates by scanning one button sets the frequency to 88.1 MHz, the other scans up the dial to the next station it finds you have to know when you''ve reached the station you want to listen to, and the only way to do this is by listening. So finding a particular station can be difficult if you don''t know what the station is playing at the moment.

2)The sound quality of the radio is not very good. It is not awful, but I find that occasional words can be hard to make out if I''m listening to the news with background noise around me. And you certainly won''t hear all the nuances of music from this radio.

3) If you walk through an area where there is interference or poor signal for your station, the radio often seems to `go fishing'' for a stronger signal, and sometimes changes to a different, nearby station. When this happens you might have to find your station again, by scanning up the dial from the bottom until you hear the right station.

4) The only volume control on the unit is on the earphone cord. So you can''t replace the included earphones with your favorite headphones unless these also have a volume control.

Finally, the "talking" feature really annoys me. It''s very easy to hit the ''talk'' button unintentionally. When I''m setting the radio, or if the unit gets bumped when clipped to my belt or when stashed in my backpack, it will loudly say "YOU HAVE WALKED 3524 STEPS" or something like that... this will certainly draw attention to you if you''re in class or on the bus when this happens!

This pedometer delivers exactly what it promises. It''s small, lightweight, has a decent radio that hangs on to the station being played, and is remarkably accurate. Love the extra belt clip to prevent dropping and breaking. Have used a lot of small pedometers, with and without radio capability, and like this one the best.

This item is the largest disappointment I have ever had from Amazon and does not deserve to be in their warehouse. I bought it as a gift and the person returned it to me because they could not get it to work properly. I also tried to make it work without success. As a pedometer, it would record steps whether you were walking or just sitting, the time setting recorded to its own whims, and the distance would have been great, had it been accurate. It would claim 1200 steps in 5 minutes and claim a distance of 2.7 miles record setting I believe! It is trashed and replaced. I also wrote to the company for support in fixing the problem, but they chose not to respond because they probably know it can''t be done!!

Game Rider Pro Gaming Bike and System with TV Screen

Game Rider Pro Gaming Bike and System with TV ScreenAfter putting the bike together my husband and I could not make the handle bars work properly with the games on screen. Once we figured that out, and began using the game screens we realized that unless you were and expert video game player (which we are not) all I do is crash and burn. Kind of funny really. The bike part however, is good. It is very quiet and easy to operate. Anyone who buys this be forewarned you will need a gel bike seat cover for comfort. I will enjoy using it but most likely would not purchase this again.

Augusta Sportswear Ladies Tricot Lined Mesh Short. 858

Augusta Sportswear Women''s Tricot Lined Mesh Short, Black, XX-LargeI haven''t been able to find shorts like this in department stores. They are very similar to running shorts, but are longer for more coverage. I wear them for everything swimming, walking, lounging, and sleeping. I will definitely be ordering more.

I was quite disappointed with these shorts. Firstly, they are not as advertised. They are advertised as having a liner in them, and I took that to mean that there would be a pantie built into them. This is not the case, instead the shorts are constructed with two layers, if you can picture that. Secondly, their sizing is WAY off. I always wear 2X bottoms, but I found that these shorts, although labeled 2X, would barely fit. Also, they were extremely short. Last of all, the material is quite sleazy. It is 100% polyester, and not the good kind. They are the kind that would get clammy and sticky if you tried to work out in them. Do yourself a favor and do not buy these shorts.

Spinervals Ultra Conditioning 5.0 Ultra Total Body

Spinervals Ultra Conditioning 5.0 Ultra Total BodyThis is my first Spinervals workout in the cycle/cross training fitness series. It is a 90 minute workout with 50% "technique, tempo and power focus on the bike" combined with 50% off the bike "total body strength and conditioning routine." It doesn''t focus in depth on any one or all of these, but it is a satisfying mix that is difficult but rewarding. Accessories needed: stability ball, dumbbells, floor mat. I enjoyed doing it for variety from the all-bike workouts.

I have about 15 of these and they are better than anything else I have found. They keep me fit in the Winter. I do wish that he would do a bit more variety, as they start to look and sound alike by the Spring, good thing I can hit the streets then.

Pearl iZUMi Men''s Infinity Warm Up Pant,Black,LargeThese are nice pants. I ordered small, and they fit well in the waist and were roomy without being baggy. Unfortunately, I''m 5''-8", and these pants are way too long on me.

These pants are super silky, slightly tailored and way nicer than most athletic pants. They''re not sloppy looking AT ALL. I will be purchasing more.

Should have taken the advise of other posts wayyyyyyyy to long, and with the long zipper in the legs makes it challenging to get altered.

Want Pearl iZUMi Men''s Infinity Warm Up Pant Discount?

These warm up pants are extremely comfortable and smooth as silk. Wearing them is like wearing a pair of silk pants. Does not stick at all to the skin and comfortable in 60-ish weather which is what I''m wearing them in right now. I just absolutely love them.

Update: After reading the other 3 reviews, mine were too long too but I liked them so much I just had them altered. I wear these all the time.

I ordered the Heather Shorts, which are only 50% cotton. I prefer 100% cotton cloth, especially at this price. However, THE ELASTIC is NOT ENCLOSED in cloth. WHY? It couldnt have cost the company more than a few pennies, and would have made the shorts far more comfortable. Elastic doesnt absorb sweat, and its actually painful on my skin. For this price, the workmanship and design is a joke. These are MADE IN HONDURAS. "CHAMPION" used to be a good name for sports clothing, but no more. Someone in that company desided they could save money using underpaid 3rd world workers, while cutting corners with quality. The ONLY WAY companies like this will stop producing sub-standard products, for inflated prices, is if we refuse to purchase their junk. Eventually, they will get the message, and deliver quality mercandise to the consumer. We DO have a voice. Amazon sells SOFFE shorts, that are all cotton, and very comfortable. I''d recommend those, for pretty much the same price.

Much to long for actually playing rugby. Too long to lift by, lots of material to be grabbed (and pulled off) by an opponent...if they''re not too busy laughing you off the pitch.

Flexaball 65cm Exercise Ball

Flexaball 65cm Exercise Ball(#1 Hall OF FAME REVIEWER)I purchased this stability ball set used, and so far, I have been very pleased. The ball comes with a foot pump which is very simple to use; I was able to inflate the ball in less than five minutes. The ball is perfect for stretching--a chart of stretching exercises is included--and can also be used to enhance core workouts as well as Pilates and yoga. One thing I''ve noticed is that if I don''t use the ball for a few days, I need to reinflate it slightly; I''m not sure if this is a defect or typical of all stability balls, but adding the extra air takes only a minute.

This set also comes with a video called Tone, Trim, and Tighten. Instructor Gin Miller provides an overview of using the ball and then leads a workout which includes a warm-up, abs work, back work, a lower body segment, wall squats, and stretches. In the back and wall squat segments, only one set of a single exercise is shown; the video suggests that you rewind for a greater workout. However, the addition of the video makes this set a great deal, so if you want to give ball workouts a try but don''t want to spend a lot of money, I definitely recommend this set.

Excellent product. It takes little time to set up the air pump. Once set up it works great. I have been using it for the past 2 years. Great buy. Definitely recommend this one.

Ryka Women''s assist xt

Ryka Women''s Assisst XT Fitness Shoe,Grey/Dark Grey/Red,6.5 MI''ve had these Ryka XT Assist shoes for about three months now, and I just love them. I bought them to do a plyometric workout series (Beachbody''s Insanity series) that required a lot of jumping. My old Rykas weren''t cutting it (my arches were in terrible pain during each workout), so I purchased these and have been extremely happy. They are lightweight and comfortable, and provide really nice arch support.

These provide great arch support for lots of jumping, and also have a nice, wide base that provides good stability for weight-lifting. I''ve also been using these for step and kickboxing, and they work wonderfully well for those activities, too. They are a true cross-trainer!

The base of the shoe also bends nicely, allowing the forefront of your foot to bend easily when doing things like push-ups, where your foot is bent.

As for sizing, I always go a half-size up in my athletic shoes, and did the same in these. In regular shoes, I wear a 7 1/2, but I always buy an 8 in athletic shoes -and these in a size 8 were perfect for me. (With past pairs of Rykas, I''ve sometimes had to go up a whole size, but these seem to run a half-size smaller than regular sizing.)

I bought these in the gray and red color, and they look really nice, too.

This is the most comfortable workout shoe I''ve worn in recent years, and I''m definitely going to be buying a back-up pair!

UPDATE ON 3/5/10: I''ve been using these shoes since August five or six days a week for all of my workouts, and they are finally starting to give out a bit on the inside. I usually have to replace my workout shoes every six months or so, so these Rykas have held up really well. I love these so much that I am buying a new pair of them to replace the ones I bought last year.

UPDATE ON 3/2/11: Although I still really love these Ryka shoes and went through several pairs of them, I recently "upgraded" to the Asics Gel Intensity , and really like the Asics even more since the cushioning in the Asics is excellent. That being said, however, the Asics shoes are twice the cost of these Rykas. If you can afford the difference, though, and want lots of cushioning, I''d recommend trying the Asics.

Looking for a new cross trainer when I ran across a fitness magazines recommended Shoes article featuring this shoe. Well cushioned soles and light-weight shoe make it a pleasant wear for when I do my step or circuit videos. I bought a half size larger and was glad-still breaking in the shoe, but overall pleased with my purchase. Shoe did not receive four stars because it still has some points of stiffness when performing lateral moves. Well priced shoe.

I am not very happy with these shoes. I purchased them because they were advertised as cross trainers and I needed shoes that I could use for kickboxing and step aerobics. They were comfortable when I first put them on and I love the color and look of these shoes.

After using these shoes for a few workouts I know that I will need to get another pair of shoes. During my high intensity workouts my feet and ankles started hurting and I couldn''t wait for class to be over so that I could take them off. I have never had this problem before. They just don''t provide enough cushion or support for me.

I love my new Ryka shoes. I use them for Jazzercise and they are super light and comfortable yet offer a great support. I usually have pain in my feet due to insufficient arch support in my shoes but these seem to take care of the problem. I have only used them for a little over a month but am already thinking about getting a second pair.

I am a certified fitness instructor. I teach a Mixed Martial Arts inspired Fitness class called Body Combat. I train 6 days a week and pratice more than you could imagine. I have been through Nike, Ascis, Adidas, New Balance, etc. you name it, I tried them! I am willing to spend money for quality top rated sneakers. But I do love an affordable sale as well! I found the Ryka Assist XT sneakers 2 years ago and haven''t looked back since! I was recommended them from a co worker whose family owned a footwear company in Ardmore, PA. He suggested trying them. I spoke to him about my concerns and what I wanted from the sneaker. He hit it right on the head with Ryka''s Assist. I have yet to find a better sneaker. I still try different sneakers every few months. I tend to have to purchase sneakers every 3-4 months due to my training regimen. The Assist''s are comfortable, supportive, light and durable. They last! You get your money''s worth and then some. I have never had an issue with these sneakers, no cons, downfalls, etc. Now everyone has their own opinion, but I have recommended these sneakers to everyone in my classes and not one person has ever had problems or issues with them. The arch support is great, they are not too narrow like Nike''s that I have tried, they are super light weight, amazing for a cross trainer. They have a wider boxed toe for lateral movements, cushiony heal and room for your toes, nothing gets squished together, but they aren''t too big either. They are lower cut for the comfort around your ankles, yet not too low that they don''t provide support. The do, very well. I love that they are grey all over and some red. One thing I hated was white areas on the sneakers that always got so dirty. These are great to go with everything. They also come in other color variations. I even tried the Assist XT2, but found that they were not comparable. They were much bulkier and heavier. I did however get excited because they were purple and grey (MY FAVE COLORS!) But sadly had to return them, they were just not comfortable or supportive for the training that I do daily. Try them, they might be for you. I found the Assist Xt''s on Amazon & eBay for suprt cheap! Right now they are on eBay for $38.21 with FREE SHIPPING as of 10/29/12 @ 4:55 pm from walkingsue7. I have found my sneaker for life and hope that they don''t stop making them. I have no clue what I would do if I couldn''t find them! LOL I hope that this helps some of you. I know that I extensively review sneakers for the best value, best comfort, best everything so that I can kick butt in my classes and rock it out always! Research is key and most people are great with returns and exchanges, plese read their exceptions though. You always need to read everything before buying! Thank you! Rhiannon The link is below:

Weider 2980 x Weight System

Weider 2980 x Weight SystemI bought this at K Mart, on sale for 200 bucks. It took forever to assemble, but that was ok since I expected same. I didn''t expect an awful lot from a 200 dollar machine, and unfortunately I was not disappointed. The pully mechanisms are not smooth and the machine wants to tip over when doing some exercises. Overall the chest and leg routines were OK, the biceps and abdomen, not so much. I will continue using it as I am not an avid weight lifter. For someone like me who just wants to tone a little, maybe the machine will be OK, but I wouldn''t pay the price Amazon wants you to pay.

I received the gym in a somewhat tattered box. However, it did it''s job and the contents were blemish-free. After about 2 hours of initial assembly, I got to the point of installing the pulley and cable system. Unfortunately, of the three hardware blister packs, one was a duplicate, so I was missing blister pack 2 of 3. Off to the Weider web site. At first I had the audacity to try to call phone support. Ha! I was on hold for a hour with lots of ads and no feedback about the wait time. I finally had to go to the bathroom. I did not take advantage of the "call me back" feature, which would probably have been the smart thing to do.

Instead, I used the online form to request that they send me the blister pack 2 of three. I gave the product number and serial number and a very clear description of what was missing.

The response I received was astonishing. Their support representatives do not have access to a parts list, and are unable to fulfill a request for "blister pack 2 of three". They suggested that then only way they could produce the missing parts would be for me, the customer, to reverse engineer their bill of materials from the steps in the manual! This means, find the steps that had parts from blister pack 2 and build a list of the parts for them. I was flabbergasted.

I can''t decide whether it is laziness, stupidity or malice. First of all, they should have access to at least the BOM for the machine in question. Secondly, it should be trivial for them to call someone and ask "hey, what''s on blister pack 2 of three for the 2980x?". Perhaps it''s the language barrier with the Chinese child who packed the box?

So, I went ahead and spent an hour putting that list together today and sent it to him. I hope it is accurate. That''s an hour of my life that I''ll never get back, all the while seething at the insipid foolishness of Weider customer support.

I own a company that has a customer support function. This little exchange will be used for training purposes on what NOT to do.

I am currently awaiting their next excuse.

Machine is exactly what I need to tone up! Not for body builders with max of 214 lbs. Took around 6 hrs to assemble by myself. The graphics in the instructions are not perfect. After complete assembly, discovered a extra thin pulley? Weider C/S was no help in this matter. I discovered my error, because of poor design in the manual I missed one step. Over all very satisfied!"

I purchased this via Kmart online for about $210 bucks. Drove to my local Kmart and loaded the huge box in my Truck. Took about 3.5 hours to assemble. It is an OK weight system for what it is. Easy to use, functions well.

Want Weider 2980 x Weight System Discount?

I bought this, put it together and have used it a few times now. There are reviews out there that this is hard to assemble. It is not terribly difficult. I did it with my 4 year old daughter in about 4 hours. She helped unpack and hand me stuff, it was a nice little activity.... If you follow the directions, get/use the appropriate tools, and get the parts identified, it''s not bad at all. I got rid of a bench and a bunch of weights/bars/etc. that were taking up a ton of space and I didn''t really use anymore.

Necessary items they don''t really tell you that will make it easier a socket/rachet set 1/2 in and 5/8 I believe are all you need. Oh a a screwdriver for the tower covers that actually fits the self tapping screws properly (this was the biggest pain, w/o the right philips head, they tend to strip or be difficult).

Pros:

Space savings, it''s compact and self contained.

It does a decent amount of basic exercises.

It looks nice..

Nuts and bolts well labled and described in the directions.

Cons:

The weight resistance on the lower pulleys starts at like 58 lbs. It''s probably not the best piece of equipment for younger people or possibly women. It doesn''t go any less than that on the lower stuff so you may not be able to use it if you''re not strong enough to start at 60lbs or so.

If you''re bigger than 6ft, it''s probably going to be a little tight. I''m 6'' and there are some exercises that I feel like I need some more room on the machine.

The exercise chart is not specifically for this machine. Instead it''s for a group of machines. You''ll not be able to do more than half of the exercises listed.

Otherwise, it''s a decent machine for the price. I paid under 300. It''s certainly convenient and easy to use. I am able to get a nice 30-45 minute workout in the morning without any fuss.

ThunderBell COMPLETE Training Program: Multi-Grip Weight, Workout DVDs & Guides

ThunderBell COMPLETE Training Program: Multi-Grip Weight, Workout DVDs & GuidesLet me start by saying that you WILL see results from using the Thunderbell. It will be one of the best decisions you make if you are sincere about changing your life in a positive direction.

If you are looking for a workout routine, chances are you''re searching for a way to ''get yourself started'' or need a system that fits your lifestyle. As a former athlete, I had fallen into bad habits and dug such a hole for myself that taking that first step was a challenge in itself. I was embarrassed to take that step in public, and lacked the structure and discipline to do it on my own. It was always ''maybe tomorrow.'' After stumbling across the Thunderbell, I was amazed at how realistic the program is and how it removes the ''thought'' from the process by leading you step by step.

As with any workout program, you have to make the effort. It starts with you. But the Thunderbell does just about everything it can do for you except lacing up your shoes. And I promise, if you follow the guide and stick with it, you WILL see the results and be so happy. The workouts are challenging, but not overwhelming. The Food/Nutrition guide was a tremendous and necessary resource, and the Calender tells you what to do each day. Within a week or two, I was seeing the benefits on the scale...and was soon losing several pounds a week. I am happy to say that a quick 90 days later I had lost over 35 lbs and was sporting a much toned body, a renewed mentality and spirit and incorporating much healthier choices into my daily life. There is nothing more motivating than when your friends start noticing the difference in your appearance, and trust me...they will. All you have to do is follow the guide and stick with it.

I can also say that this program is suitable for both males and females. Guys, you will drop lbs and tone; the workouts will get you. Ladies, the lower weight/high reps/movements will leave you slender and toned. And the transformation all starts in the privacy of your own living room. After the 90-day completion, I have even ''re-started'' the program and am working through my second cycle.

I have recommended the Thunderbell to several friends, will continue to do so, and can tell you with 100% sincerity that it works.

Just received my Thunderbell from Woot!. It came with the Thunderbell and 2 DVDs (Level 1, Level 2, Bonus Core, & Training).

Pros:

You definitely feel it all throughout your core!!

Takes up minimal space

No assembly required (I was nervous that I would have to screw the 2 disks onto the bar), which is great because there are no parts that will loosen as you workout

Not boring (I''ve done P90X: Tony Horton''s 90-Day Extreme Home Fitness Workout DVD Program, INSANITY: 60-Day Total Body Conditioning Workout DVD Program, INSANITY: The ASYLUM 30 Day Sports Training Workout DVD Program, Tae Bo, & Bryan Kest Power Yoga Complete Collection). I was looking for something to unbore me with my current DVD selections (Bryan Kest hasn''t gotten boring) and I think this fits the bill. Because it requires you to properly learn how to use it, you stay pretty focused throughout the workout.

Cons:

Not sure if this is a con, or a warning, but, if you''re not seriously careful, it''s easy to hurt yourself with the Thunderbell. It''s better to slow down the moves in order to ensure you have COMPLETE control than to swing it and yourself (or something else) and twist in a dangerous way with a 10lb moving object.

The DVDs and calendar (which you have to download) are a bit bootleg (though they get the job done just not fancy like the big name home workout systems) and I found it slightly confusing to follow due to the naming convention of the videos.

I don''t feel they gave you a "start here" point once you opened the Thunderbell. I had to scan through the DVDs to figure out what to do first. I''m a bit impatient, but forced myself to go through the video showing all the handgrips. I tried to follow along, but some of the moves went too fast (and I''m pretty coordinated)

If you''re not coordinated, it will be a bit of a challenge to follow the instructional video showing the basic moves. I don''t think the demonstrators understand when they say "put you''re right foot out," they have to put their left foot out so the viewer can mirror them (hope that made sense). It was a bit of a challenge to follow along with the vocal cues AND the physical demonstrations.

I look forward to seeing my results as I progress. I''m not sure if I will actually follow the calendar they provide. Since it''s a full body workout, I will probably treat it as such and incorporate it with other home workout systems/DVDs I own. I can''t speak on the nutritional guide that''s also downloadable in the "members area." As a Weight Watcher, I''ve had and continue to have much success with that plan.

Buy ThunderBell COMPLETE Training Program: Multi-Grip Weight, Workout DVDs & Guides Now

As a runner, cyclist, and 14 year group fitness/aerobic instructor, I have found the Thunderbell by Teeter, to be a great full body workout. What I like best about Thunderbell is the overall fitness routine; it tones and builds strength, while maintaining aerobic endurance. If you are like me and tend to do a lot of cardio (running, cycling, etc.) while not making as much time for lifting (which is important), Thunderbell will add in the weight training piece you are missing and improve your overall fitness level.

The DVDs are easy to follow and you can get in a substantial workout in a short time, which is great if you have a busy schedule. Throughout my years in the fitness industry, I have tried many fitness programs and this program is definitely one of the best for an overall full body workout. Cardio and strength building, which are the two primary components of a successful workout routine, are coupled together in Thunderbell. No matter what your fitness level or goals are, you will see results with Thunderbell.

I love the concept of the Thunderbell, it is a great workout device which totally takes training to the next level. When you are first getting started the videos are great and will give you about 3 months of solid training which will get you lean and fit if you also follow a sound nutrition program (they also have an awesome nutrition program). After 3 months you can follow on-line workout sites to expand your fitness regime and come up with creative HIIT programs for yourself. For most people the standard weight of 10lbs is sufficient but I am looking forward to their debut of heavier weights. As a personal trainer, nutritionist, and yoga instructor I recommend Thunderbell to anyone who wants a simple at home program that will deliver results and expand their awareness of how to train their body. I also recommend Thunderbell to gyms I train at because it enhances anyones gym workout, being that it can be used in so many ways.

I purchased Thunberbell after a friend recommended it. As a triathlete and runner, I was looking for a supplementary workout I could do from my home that would tone and build muscle. I can say without reservation that Thunderbell was what I was looking for. Not only do I love the size of the product (unlike many other home gym products, Thunderbell does not take up any room at all) but the beginning workouts were perfect. I also liked the time commitment, I can do a quick Thunderbell workout in about 15 minutes, which as a father of three is great! After the first workout I could feel how it worked all of my muscle groups. I highly recommend this product!

Medi-Dyne StretchRite Exercise Strap

Medi-Dyne StretchRite Exercise StrapI was looking for help with my plantar fasciitis and this is perfect. It beats using a towel or belt when trying to stretch your foot or calf muscles. Great price and shipping was fair.

I highly recommend this product for stretching. It is well made and sturdy.

This exercise strap gives great control as to how much you want and can stretch. I would highly recommend it to anyone whose legs or thighs are tight.

I bought the Medi-Dyne StretchRite for my wife who HAD plantar fasciitis. She follows the instructions in the user''s guide and has been stretching every morning for around 2 months. Despite the fact that she jogs every day and does not have any other treatments nor visit the doctor, the plantar fasciitis is now gone.

The product is strong and very well designed. At first I thought a belt would do the job but finally decided to purchase the StretchRite. It works great. The handle knobs are easy to hold and your hands will not get hurt when stretching. This is a purpose-built tool and worth the money.

Having used the large rubbery bands for stretching, and having killed numerous of these--was delighted to find a well constructed one that my husband, with greater strength, can use without killed (popping in half). Buy it if you stretch with these--you''ll have it for YEARS.

Icebreaker Men''s Bike Ultraliteicro Socks

Icebreaker Men''s Bike Ultraliteicro SocksThese are warm and comfy. I use them on my long bike rides and have no complaints. I''d buy more if they weren''t so pricey for a pair of socks.

My brother and I cycled 3 months with a pair of these each, under temperatures from 10-35 celsius washing them very week or so, and with all dirt and dust into them we had a very good experience. They are stronger than expected so they dont tear easily. They breathe enough.

Would happily buy again.

Weider Neoprene Reducing Shorts (Large)

Weider Neoprene Reducing ShortsI found these on clearence at Kmart for $2.00 and all that they had left was Med and xxl-xxxl, I knew the med were too small but figured the xxl-xxxl would be huge, but bought them anyway because they were so cheap. I wear a 13/14 and they fit and are really tight. I have a hard time getting the zipper closed. So I doubt these would fit anyone over a size 14. So just keep that in mind when buying.

I''ve worn out my curves neoprene shorts and was in search for a replacement, these were great! Though not of the same quality, it does the job. I used them the same day I recieved them, by the end of my workout I was drenched in sweat. Im quite satisfied with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone, and for such a low price why not try it out?

I was looking for a neoprene short that had a higher waist on it and, although the waist on these are a little higher, not quite as high as I''d like. With that said, they do produce sweat. I didn''t like that it just had a zipper for closure as the other shorts I have also have velcro straps to secure it. They are decent but I wouldn''t repurchase.

I purchased these neoprene shorts because of other reviews. No need to spend $$$$ on other shorts when this one does the trick. Can''t wait for this summer I''m going to purchase another pair of neoprene short and use them as swim shorts.

I am a size Medium, but purchase a Large size and I''m glad I did. Shipping was fast.

They seem to be the right size through the hips and goes above the navel the way I like my neoprene shorts to be. I have to say I thought they were a great price and good quality neoprene shorts.Weider Neoprene Reducing Shorts (Large)

Weider Push Up Stands

Weider Push Up StandsThe good thing about these Weider push-up stands is the angled bar, which feels better doing regular push-ups than a straight bar. This is also very helpful if you are doing easy push-ups on your knees.

Unfortunately, they are only fair quality, and don''t seem very durable. While the bars are steel tubing, the bases are actually just hollow black and gray plastic shells. If you weigh over two hundred pounds, I think the bases might crack after a while, especially where the ends of the steel tubes press into the plastic. The bases are also smooth on the bottom with no gripping surface, so the hard plastic surface will slide on a smooth floor. They are O.K. on carpeting or a gym mat.

The foam pads on the steel tubes are not dense, so they don''t give much cushioning for your hands. It helps to use padded weightlifting gloves.

The problem is that the stands I got didn''t fit together properly because of design and quality control problems.

The stands had deep grinding marks inside the holes in two of the bases, where the manufacturer apparently tried to correct moulding problems in the plastic. I initially thought that the stands had been used, but the replacement set I received was just like the first.

To assemble the stands, you need to push the ends of the steel bars into the plastic bases and secure them with threaded T-screws that thread into the bars. However none of the holes lined up properly on mine, so the shoulders of the T-screws wouldn''t fit into the holes in the bases. I was eventually able to get the second set of stands put together by filing down the ends of the bars slightly. You also need to use some grease on the bars to get them to slide in or they shear off the plastic gripping ribs moulded inside the holes.

All this may have just have been quality control problems in one lot, so you can take a chance if the price is low and you just want some light duty stands.

Dont buy these. They are garbage!!! They have nothing on the bases to keep them from sliding!!! The grey plastice you see on the bases falls off constantly. VERY LOW QUALITY PRODUCT!!!

If you are looking for the cheapest efficient pushup bars, then you have considered the right ones. These pushup bars can handle 300 lbs, which is what i started out at in january 2012. I''ve since then lost weight, I am at 220, and these pushup bars are still going strong since January. I use them with p90x, and they have yet to let me down. Only reason it gets a 4 star rating is that it slides on hard floors, they have plastic bases, and they aren''t that aesthetically pleasing. Monday is chest and back again, and these bars will still hold up when I use them then. If they break I will revise my review, but I don''t see that happening anytime soon.

I purchased these (actually got the wrong item) after getting wrist problems doing regular push-ups. Overall, i''d say these are pretty good. I like the angle to the bar also and a few weeks of these and my wrists feel good even on the floor again. The construction is overall good with the steel tube and the plastic is adequate. The only drawback is the base is slippy. I tried these on a wooden floor and almost ate wood. They work fine with a yoga/exercise mat or carpet under them

I purchased these as my first set of push up bars. I have wrist issues and was unable to do push ups using the ground as the base. I have to say I am highly satisfied with the product. I only use them on carpeting so I can''t comment about hardwood floors but I used them for P90X and they worked flawlessly. True, it took a little to put them together but they haven''t failed me yet and I''ve used them (on average every other day) for the last 3-4 months. They were $8.00 when I purchased them and I am still happy with money spent. To compare, I am only about 145 lbs so I also cannot comment about their durability in the 200lb range.

Gymnastics Arabesque T-Shirt

Gymnastics Arabesque Girls 6/6X Black MultiThe quality of the t-shirt was good, but I was disappointed that the purple and pink accents were very hard to see. To me, the color or material of the detail should be strong enough to be seen from a distance. The shirt was dull and just ok. Fortunately for me, my niece is only 3 and she didn''t complain:)

I realize this shirt is designed to be worn while practicing, but it is sized extremely small. The detail on the front is beautiful. The fabric is soft and a bit thin. I''m happy with the tee, but wished I had ordered a bigger size.

Manduka Black Mat Pro Yoga Package, Graphite, 71 Inch Mat

Manduka Black Mat Pro Yoga Package, Graphite, 71 Inch MatThe Manduka mat is as good as everyone says it is; much sturdier and provides more support than a sticky mat; sort of like the difference between really good running shoes and spongy flip flops. The bag is good and this was a good deal on it. I wouldn''t have paid full price to buy the bag separately. I did have problems with the bag''s lining getting caught in the zipper initially and had to pull out my sewing kit. I probably could have returned it, but it was an easy one-time fix. All in all, satisfied.

After buying a new yoga mat every 6-8 months, I finally decided to grow up, break down and buy the Manduka. I am so glad I did. A couple of things I really like about it are; though thick, it does not have a squishy feel. So for balancing poses, you actually feel as though you are on a sturdy surface, not a sponge. Though environmentally friendly, it does not disintegrate in to pilly balls over time. It is solid, durable, sticky, reliable and stylish. It is like I went from a Datsun to a Hummer. Amazing. Love the bag as well, which has 2 compartments and air holes! I also want to point out that if you do a hot yoga style (like I do), and you sweat a lot, the mat is going to get slippery. There is NO way to avoid that without a towel or a rug. Sweat + Frictionless Surface = Slip, regardless of stickiness. If you were doing hot sweaty yoga on rough sandpaper you would slip. It is not the mat''s fault. It''s Physics! Right out of the box, the mat has a film on it that makes it more slippery at first. This will eventually wear off, but you can also speed up the process by cleaning it with light soap and water, and rubbing the whole mat with a cloth. Also, instead of the pricey Yoga Toes, I would recommend a YogaRat Microfiber YOGA TOWEL for a fraction of the cost. This will help prevent slips on sweaty mats. Namaste.

I read the reviews, bought the mat, took it to a heated vinyasa class. It was very slick the first time I used it. Took it home, used some simple green cleaner on it, scrubbed with a nylon brush. I allowed a couple of days for drying, and used it again with much better results. I anticipate it will get better with a little wear, and am quite satisfied with my purchase. It is quite heavy, and gives off a strong odor.

After reading all the good reviews about this mat I decided to give it a try. I practice ashtanga yoga and I was looking for something that could last a lifetime. This is what I found:

It is more slippery than I expected. I was surprised to find out that my hands sweat more than usual while in contact with this mat''s surface (I had tried the cheap mats that my gym provides and many of them are less slippery than the manduka).

At first it had a strong rubber smell. I just left it under the sun for a couple of days and the smell diminished (I think that it will vanish completely as time goes by).

It is heavy. I wouldn''t recommend it for long distance walks (if you are walking one or two blocks with the mat, it is not a problem).

Size is great (larger than most mats).

Cushion is great (thick and firm).

Corners don''t roll. It behaves like a sticker on the floor. This mat has sides, so you have to turn it around to use it and then turn it again to roll it.

Seems durable (and in most reviews it says that there are yoguis that have had this mat for more than 4 years and that it is still in great shape).

The bag is great. It is easy to put the mat in even if it is not rolled tight.

One regular yoga mat wasn''t supportive enough for me. For a while I tried two regular mats, but that was slippery, and after only a few months I could see signs of wear. I decided to invest in a quality mat. I asked a bunch of yoga teachers which mat to get, and several recommended the Manduka.

When it arrived I was skeptical--it didn''t seem very cushy. But the first time I used it, I immediately noticed how much more support it provided. I left class with my wrists and ankles feeling great!

The mat does have a slippery coating on it, but that wore off after a few weeks of classes. I wiped it often with some regular yoga mat cleaner, and used a cut-off section of one old standard mat to brace my hands until the coating was gone. Now it''s sticky, but not "eyeww" sticky. Just right! The surface is easy to clean--no bumpy texture to trap dirt--and it doesn''t absorb the sweat that can lead to that old-sneaker aroma on standard mats.

I highly recommend getting the Mat Sak as well. It''s a great bag--well made, and the ventilation holes are a good idea. As previous reviewers have mentioned, the mat is a bit heavier than some other mats, but the Sak is very helpful in that regard with a comfy strap that makes carrying your mat easy.

If you''re looking for a great supportive mat that will wear a long time, Manduka''s the one you want!

Update, March 2012: Two years later, six classes a week, and this mat still looks and feels new! Wiping it with regular old yoga-mat cleaner after class is the only maintenance I''ve done on it. It was expensive, but it has turned out to be an amazing bargain. Thanks, Manduka!

Wai Lana 151M Yoga Ball Kit, 65cm - PARENT

Wai Lana 151M Medium Yoga Ball Kit, 65cmAs I use the Wai Lana video tapes to do yoga exercise at home every day, I trust her products also, and decided to go with what I know, and buy my equipment from her label also.

The ball is firm for sitting on, and with just enough bounce. A perfect height for doing those back arch yoga exercises which you need some support in to get a really good stretch.

As I work on the computer a lot, I get a lot of lower back pain, and also tightness through my shoulder-blades; I find this ball and some of the suggested exercises, the perfect antidote.

It''s also great for the ab crunch & reverse crunch(and boy do I need them!)

The supporting booklet contains `ball assisted exercises'' for Beginners, Intermediate & Advanced, illustrated with attractive & informative pencil drawings of Wailana doing the exercise, step by step.

It''s a pretty handy little booklet and is a great daily workout.

Highly recommended. Some yoga exercises are improved by the use of aides, and this ball is very handy. When it''s not being used for exercise my son loves to play with it so far it''s been incredibly sturdy and durable, especially considering what we have put it through!

Only note is although the air pump works, it''s a good idea to take it to a gas station & pump it up there, just make sure you use a manual airpump, not the type where you enter in the numbers (for obvious reasons, eg over inflating the ball).

Highly recommended

Kotori 2004 ojadis@yahoo.com

(TOP 10 REVIEWER)(COMMUNITY FORUM 04)(#1 Hall OF FAME REVIEWER)This kit includes a medium-sized inflatable ball a pump and a book of 27 exercises. There is no video or DVD.

The ball is suitable for persons from 5''6" to 5''11" (I just managed to fit) and so if you are SHORT you need a smaller ball. When sitting on the ball, your thighs should be parallel to the ground, or knees slightly lower than hips. Also, the weight limit is 400 lbs. The ball seems flimsy, however, softish rubber. If you are big, I''d recommend a durable ball, one that is listed as resistant to bursting, especially if you want to do more on-ball exercises.

The booklet that accompanies the ball has 27 exercises and recommends 3 sessions a week, each followed by a day of rest. The exercises are geared to flexibility and building up strength, especially from using your balance.

You need adequate space (maybe 6ft by 6ft?) and possibly a mat or other surface. The surface should be level and smooth but not slippery.

The equipment

The yoga ball is smooth, has some concentric ridges and a very definitely tacky surface, for getting a good grip. The ball is heavy-gauge plastic and requires that you pump it up to partially full, allow it to stretch overnight, then pump it to full tautness the next day. Full means a finger can make a 1 inch dent or so. It''s about 2 feet inches in diameter when fully inflated.

The pump is a double-action hand pump, as you''d use for a football. I instantly jury-rigged a foot pump instead to pump up the ball, as I find stamping on a pump easier than a push-pull type hand pump. This also means you will probably leave the ball inflated. So count on space for a 2-ft diameter ball somewhere in your apartment, house or dorm room.

The booklet has 27 exercises, illustrated in black and white line drawings, and some charts.

Strangely, the French booklet only has 24 exercises. Not sure why the Francophones are treated to three fewer techniques.

The Exercises

The beginners'' exercises are primarily stretching exercises.

1. Rock lower back

2. Frog (hunch over ball)

3. Shoulder Chest stretch

4. Arm Raise

5. Calf Stretch

6. Leg Stretch

7. Double Leg extension (roll ball up wall, extending legs)

8. Tiger Pose (crouch over ball, stick leg out extended)

9. Bounce and relax

You aren''t going to get fit doing the beginners'' exercises, but you will get a good stretch and flex your back. If you have back issues, I''d show this book to your therapist or doctor first. No one wants to find you stuck to the floor on your yoga ball, back thrown out and you immobile! But it could happen, so do get advice if you have physical limitations. These are easy exercises, however, for most people, including the elderly. Oh, and did I say, you need a mat or a surface for this ball? You need something. A hard floor is not good--you could slip. Or your knees will object.

Intermediate--require muscle strength, some flexibility--most people can do these, such as people who''ve been exercising in some sort of program for about three months

1.Ab Crunch--standard crunch while lying on the ball.

2. Reverse Crunch--lie on floor, legs on ball

3. Wheel (this is fun) sit next to ball, roll back, arching over ball. Uses abs and is a good back stretch.

4. Back extension--lift up using your small back muscles while lying prone on ball.

5. Arm and alternate leg raise

6. Incline pose (like a bridge)

7. Crocodile (kind of a push up while legs rest on ball, you lying prone)

8. Hip stretch (Lunge over ball)

9. Single Leg Locust (back leg curl while lying prone on ball.)

Advanced--require muscle strength, balance and flexibility. People who''ve been exercising over six months

1. Side plank --lie sideways on ball and hold oneself up with one arm.

2. Warrior Stretch--more advance lunge, from standing position.

3. Cobra stretch (hold back legs out in space, while prone over ball.)

4. Wheelbarrow (prone on ball, walk along on hands. Fun)

5. Kneeling Frog (inner thigh stretch over ball, works inner thighs, risk of overstretching here.)

6. Bridge--lie down, feet on ball, lift tush, not easy

7. Table. Like bridge but even more difficult (legs on floor, head on ball, body makes the "table."

8. Locust--double leg raise while prone on ball.

9. Plough--lie prone, roll legs back over head until resting on ball.

This is an inexpensive exercise program with possible benefits to just about anyone, but of course anyone with back or other health issues would need to consult a physician. The booklet is illustrated with about two pictures per exercise and some text. If you are an exercise novice, a video or class may be preferable. This is not exactly "yoga"--but some of the exercises are based on yoga poses.

Summary: This is a fun, relatively easy exercise program with challenges to shoot for. It''s not aerobic (you''ll need to incorporate walking or some other exercise for that.) There are some risks to consider if you have health problems.

I really liked the size and firmness of the rubber of this ball, but it stopped holding air after less than a month of ownership. And less than a dozen uses.

Summary: Very good ball, great exercises, bad pump.

My pump broke on my first attempt to blow up the ball. I had to do it manually -which I suppose was good exercise for my lungs! Fortunately, the hole is large enough to take the nozzle of our electronic air pump, which we use to blow up air mattresses. I''ve had my ball for about a year, using it fairly regularly and traveling with it, and it seems sturdy and mine has not burst as others have commented. I bought a Bally FitGear ball for my office as it was cheaper. That was very flimsy and it burst as I was sitting on it and the fall almost broke my neck! This ball is more sturdily constructed. The exercise book is very good, with lots of photos and the movements are very effective.

I bought this in a package that also came with her yoga mat and I would highly recommend the mat, too.
