What I like about this workout program is its well-defined work-out sessions: three workouts with props for muscle strengthening or toning and two workouts that are strictly for a fun, fast-paced aerobic exercise. I like, too, that the muscle strengthening workout (with aerobics) is immediately followed by a change-of-pace workout session that is just fun, the fun of doing a speedy aerobic walk.
Leslie Sansone does quite a voluble bit of talking on this program, but it''s possible on this DVD to turn off the voice instruction and just keep the music on, a feature not found on many of her other DVDs. I tend not to turn off the talk, however, because Leslie''s personality comes through as kind, warm, and friendly such that she''s capable of still putting a smile on my face even after hundreds of moments of hearing the same retort, line, joke or expression.
Another feature of this DVD is you can choose the full 5-mile workout or choose a 3-mile workout with two speedy walking workouts and one strength building workout.
Over time, I''ve managed to build enough endurance and strength to take on the full 5 miles all the time. It takes an hour but it''s an efficient and clean program that gets the job done. Buy it if you want to exercise at home and get serious about regular exercise. It''s trustworthy.If you are a Walk @ Home with Leslie veteran and just can''t go a day without one of her energizing workouts. This package will fit the bill and is the best deal you can get for a really ridiculous price. You get the DVD, plus the firming band, the belt and set of hand weights. The weights are so versatile, that you can just slide them around your wrists or ankles (if you are small enough) when you do other workouts too or to walk/jog/run outside as well. They''re even more comfortable than the weighted blue balls. Not to mention cute and pink, although, that might be a problem for guys I suppose. I don''t know if they''re all the same color. The band is also quite firm. I had tried several bands before of different levels of resistance, and I thought this one would be pretty easy, but I was surprised. I got a pretty intense workout on my muscles from day one and I loved it! The belt was the only piece that kind of disappointed me a little bit, but it works exactly as advertised, the problem is that my waist is small at 25" and at, the tightest point it is still very loose, so much it hangs over my hips. If I make the adjustment for it to fit, then I have the extra belt hanging loose and it''s kind of uncomfortable. But it still works, I just wish there was a way to stow away the part of the belt that is hanging. The DVD is great. It offers great variety of workouts, 3 miles with weights, belt or band, and 2 different sets of 5 mile workouts divided into five 1 mile sections that work different areas of the body with the hand weights, belt and firm-band. Bottom line, This is a great set: I just love it!
PROS: Low price, amazing DVD and great quality products. Decent shipping time for the money.
CONS: At least my set has pink hand-weights and firm band, which might be a problem for some guys (not for me)

I purchased this set primarily for the hand weights, plus the extra walking belt (already have one). The bonus was the 5 mile walk. I LOVE this DVD. The 5 miles is approximately 70 minutes long, including the stretching at the end. Leslie also has it broken up into 3 different 3 mile walks. Each one uses 1 of the boosters (1 has hand weights and 2 of the "faster" walks, 1 has the stretchy band and the 2 "faster" walks and the 3rd has the belt and the 2 "faster" walks). For the 3 mile walks, you would just have to fast forward/skip to the end of the 5 mile walk to get to the stretching. The 5 mile walk has 2 options--one has a slight break in-between (shows the "title" of the next walk; only a couple of seconds) and the other one just goes straight through. The slight break comes in handy if you need to switch the booster or take it off. It starts with the hand weights, then there is a very fast mile (about 10 minutes IIRC), then the Belt mile, then another fast mile (but not as fast as the 2nd mile), and she finishes with the stretchy band before you get to the stretching post workout. I love it. I''ve lost 52lbs watching my calorie intake and walking (some outdoor, some treadmill, and some with Leslie''s DVDs)!I got this because i wanted a 5 mile walk and love it for it intensity and for the extras that come with it :) however it starts right away to high intensity and the 3 3 mile don''t have the stretching at the end neither does it have cool down so its basically up to yourself to do it. basically each mile is done on its own not a continuous walk. its great anyway cuz i really work up the intensity. :)Want Leslie Sansone Walk At Home 5 Mile Deluxe Kit - DVD, Hand Weights, Belt & Band Discount?
This review is too early to say how well the workouts work but I wanted to give my first impressions. This is my first "Walk at Home" DVD.The positives:
My package arrived even earlier than expected.
All the items were included. Hand weights, belt, and band.
After one work out, the next morning I am good and sore! No pain, no gain!
The negatives:
Tough to say, but Leslie is annoying. Her chit chat is just too much. The menu options give you the ability to select with music only or instructions with music.
I also was disappointed in her music choices. It''s just a background beat. I was hoping for something a bit more lively. So I guess it all depends on if you want your instructor to be lively or your music. lol
The menu is a bit confusing. For someone with over 50 DVDs and has been in the business for 20 some years, I would think she would have a better system.
I''ll come back in a couple of weeks and let you know how the workouts do.
