ProGear 500LS Flywheel Drive Energy Elliptical with Heart Pulse Sensors

Well packaged. Took about 2 1/2 hour to assemble by myself. Used my own tools although ProGear does send usable tools. Instructions were not detailed but common sense and minimal mechanical skills will get the job done. Very quiet and smooth working. I like the taller (60") handles even though I am not very tall. Pedals are wide, long, solid without foot slippage. Easy on the knees. Pedals forward and backward. Chain driven. Reads pulse , speed etc clearly. The stationary grips could be a little wider. Ten minutes and you get a pretty good workout. Not for the person who really works out hard ( i.e. Lance Armstrong) but great for the average person.

Light in weight and compact which makes it easy to move. No roller wheels. Looks good not "cheap." I used a little DW40 on threads as lubricant. I reviewed numerous elliptical online and in stores before purchasing the PG 500 LS and, am quite satisfied thus far. Unless one chooses to spend $1500-3000.00 on a ''professional'' elliptical the ProGear is an excellent choice. Buy it new not used or barely used as that is risky. You get a one year warranty.

If it holds up under average household usage the money was well spent. Time will tell as there was a paucity of reviews for this elliptical.

Best purchase for me, for the end of the year. LOVE IT!!!!!! Anyone that needs to exercise this is it.

I used this machine for 3 weeks and then it broke, yep, broke! I was on it and the preassembled parts came apart! I have a huge gash on my leg and a broken machine to show for my money. I would NOT suggest this item.

Assembly was fairly straightforward and took about an hour.

We used the elliptical daily for 30-60 minutes. About two weeks after we received it, one of the metal arms broke while my wife was using it, leaving her with a bruised and bloody shin.

I have left a voice message for the manufacturer and they have yet to return my call.

I do not recommend this product.

You get what you pay for. Like some of the other reviewers, the steel actually cracked in half while using the equipment. I have not used it for more than 8 or 10 hours. I don''t recommend this elliptical to anyone who does not have the ability to weld it back together when it breaks. Steel welded joints are inadequately welded. This definitely has the potential to cause injury!
