I''m very happy with this product. The metal tubing is wide enough to be comfortable on the hands. I mounted this outside to my patio post, after installing a special parallel post. I noticed that the predrilled holes are 19" on center, whereas studs are 16" on center; this might be a problem for some installations.Read Best Reviews of Wall Mount Dip Station Here
My first impression of this dip station was it was much more solid and well built than I was expecting. The mounting plates are thick metal and the tubing (bars) themselves, particularly the hand grip section, has a decent circumference so they''re comfortable to use. I was a little leery of the flared handgrips as I''d never used that design before, but they''re very comfortable and natural feeling. My only complaint is the mounting holes are 19" on center, but that fact isn''t mentioned anywhere. If you want to mount them to studs (which are 16" on center), you''ll need to improvise. It would be nice if the manufacturer offered a version with flanges set to 16" for this purpose, but I made it work. Also, it would be nice if they came with foam on the grips, but you can use athletic tape to get extra grip if needed. I use weightlifting gloves when I workout and my grip is fine with them.
Overall, this is a very well built, sturdy and rather heavily constructed apparatus. I love it!
