Accoutrements Mr. Tap Water Bottle

Accoutrements Mr. Tap Water Bottlethis is so cute! the lid is easy to un/screw & is secure. the graphics are very clever/cute just as pictured.

the 20 oz. bottle is very good quality, practical, brings a smile to all who see it.

Great quality product. Helps keep liquids at a desired temperature from material. Supports package material in a fun way. Thank You.

This water bottle has a great 1950''s design. Not only does it make fun of those who drink expensive bottled water but also those who insist upon expensive $25.00 "sig-type" water bottles. The cap fits on tight and it''s a good size. I did have a friend who used one exhaustively and the design did start to wear off, however.

Jerzees 973B Youth 8 oz. 50/50 Sweatpants

Jerzees Youth Fleece NuBlend Sweatpant, Pink, LargeItem fit well. The description of the color given ''birch'' gave me the impression they would be white, but they are actually a light gray. No problem, they were worn under a Halloween costume for a little ghost.

These are great for hanging out in at home or sleeping in. My son would rather have pockets, but that''s ok, this way he doesn''t leave things in them before washing.

The pants are of good quality. The shipping was a little slow took a few days to ship and were towards the slower end of the time frame. I actually had to get another pair slightly different locally for my daughter to wear in a parade, but they did finally arrive the day before the parade. Just wasn''t the fast response I''ve gotten used to with Amazon companies

Rubber Cal Treadmill Mat

Rubber Cal Treadmill Mat, Black, 3/16-Inch x 4 x 7.5-FeetWe ordered this for our treadmill. Last mat we had was paper thin. Was worried about this one. We were pleasantly surprised and happy with this product.

It was one of the few mats that was actually wide enough and long enough. I have a Smooth Treadmill, extra long, and wider than most. It is a nice quality rubber mat, pretty heavy, but that is a good thing. The most important thing is it didn''t have that "rubber" smell that so many rubber products do, only if you put your nose right down to is could you actually smell it. It keeps my treadmill from moving around, and would highly recommend this product. I would like to purchase one for under my Elliptical next.

G601 Golds Gym Shorts

G601 Golds Gym ShortsLove the fit and feel of these shorts. Make sure to read the description cause they run small. Great buy if your looking for some soild shorts.

Okay one thing I have learned about these shorts, be careful when washing them. Don''t use a hot dryer. Just medium will do. They shrink a bit till I get them on and working out in them and then I can stretch them a bit while I am sitting. But overall I feel these are a great buy. And if you see them at a second hand store or a garage sale grab em!

These shorts are great for the gym.

I grew up in the 70''s and 80''s and a lot has changed in the gym since then, but I could never get used to wearing shorts that hang down over my knees.

They''re cotton, fit well and don''t get in the way that''s all I needed.

For a shorter man they hit about mid thigh and that''s best for working out.

TRX Suspension Training Pro Pack Basic

TRX Suspension Training Pro Pack BasicThis review was geared for another product, but the comparisons I''ve discovered will help you make an educated decision.

Notice I gave this product Four Stars. I stand by it, even though the following review may seem to be geared toward another product.

So, I''ve owned the TRX force kit for about five years, XFit Rings for about three years, and the Jungle Gym XT for about a month now, and I have to say the Jungle Gym XT is the Best Over-all product, in almost all categories. Here''s the preferential order I would put the three products: First place: Jungle Gym XT, Second Place: XFit Rings, and Third Place: TRX. And I''m rating them REGARDLESS OF PRICE!!!!

I''m not trying to pick on any specific product. I''m giving my best over-all objective opinion based on my expertise (I am a personal trainer at an exclusive high level gym). To be fair to all manufacturers, I still use ALL three of the products. My intention with this review is to educate consumers so you can make an objective decision.

I''ll just limit my review to the cons because I don''t want to continue the redundancy of talking about what these products can do.

First: Hygiene! the TRX falls short especially if you are sharing the product with others. The Jungle Gym handles and foot cradles are made of TPE (thermoplastic elastomer, which is a sturdy plastic with a rubber-like feel), and the XFit rings are olympic styled rings (lowest level is a very sturdy, almost invincible, hard plastic). Which both are easy to clean. The TRX, on the other hand, has a foam-like material over the handles, and the foot cradles over the nylon webbing. Which you can''t clean unless you want to speed up the deterioration process. So, little microbes can fester on the handles and foot cradles. So if you share it with others, have an anti-bacterial gel nearby.

Next: Durability! I''ve had the TRX the longest, So it''s been worked over!!! the main components of the straps are still well in tact. But!!! the foam on the handles have worn down, and are splitting. I''ve called FitnessAnywhere to find a solution, and they mailed me (for free), TAPE!!! Yes, TAPE!!! does it work? Yes. for how long? I don''t know. Definitely not a long term solution though. There only other offer was another older model force kit for a discounted price (ten dollars less than the newest model). The Rings are solid and I know they will maintain its over-all integrity for many years to come. For the Jungle Gym, I''m familiar with many gym products and seeing the design and quality of the materials, there is premium quality, long lasting materials. You can tell it''s the best made even if you compare all the products side by side if they were all new.

NEXT: Comfort. TRX, even with the foam handles, are last place. why??? the adjustable METAL buckle is designed to sit at a right angle to the handles. which means LOTS of snagging when doing pushing exercises. When I had the TRX the first two years, I would constantly have scratch marks on my arms, shoulders, and neck because of the metal buckle snagging me during use. Actually, an under armour long sleeve shirt (or similar) will go a long way. With the rings, the metal buckle can be adjusted to be away from your range of movement. The Jungle Gym, The adjustable buckle contraptions are modeled like the TRX except that it is made of a very durable hard plastic, contoured and rounded so there are no uncomfortable edges, and they lay flush (not at a right angle) to the handles. So... NO SNAGGING!!!

NEXT: Variations! you can do ALOT with any of the suspension trainers. But the TRX has the most limitations solely on the fact that both straps come to one point. So there is VERY LIMITED abduction exercises. and if you do try abduction... be ready for snagging. Not an issue with the other products. You''ll be surprised how much MORE VARiATION there is simply by having each handle individually anchored, and able to control how wide each anchor point is. The Xfit rings don''t have designed foot cradles, but if you are at an intermediate fitness level, you can stand your feet on the rings, and do all the foot cradle exercises comfortably. The jungle gym''s foot cradles are by far the easiest to get in and out of, and the most comfortable.

LASTLY: Portability! Finally, the TRX wins in this category. One, it comes with a mesh drawstring bag. If you want one so badly, spend five dollars and get one for the other products. Also, the TRX packs the smallest. Actually, I have the first model Force kit, and it packs about a third of the size of all the current TRX models and is slightly lighter. I actually HATE that the newer TRX models are bulkier than they used to be. All the models have the bulkier (less expensive), nylon webbing. Don''t be fooled if someone will try to lie to you and say it''s better quality. it''s not. I actually have the older, BETTER product. They''re saving money!!! Even though they other products (XFit Rings, and Jungle Gym XT) don''t pack as small, they are still VERY PORTABLE.

Because I have all the products, I have the advantage of doing total body suspension exercises. I can mix either of the products to achieve that. For my personal use, I''d use the Jungle Gym XT for my feet, and the rings for my hands (which coincidently, is the best buy), or you can get two Jungle Gyms, or Two TRX''s. I''d recommend to getting two jungle gyms though.

This review is meant to educate consumers so you''re not dazzled by the marketing, and you can buy confidently because you have as much objective information.

All the best on your fitness journey!!!

Just received my TRX. The one thing that tripped me up is the description of "bonus in box" workouts. I thought I was getting two more DVD''s which helped me to justify the $60 increase in price over the original model. Alas, bonus in box means you cut two workouts off the cardboard box to read. They are not DVD''s.

A good workout and innovative idea. However, This is definitely not the best form of suspension training available. It is somewhat restrictive when you compare it to the Lifeline Jungle Gym XT or Elite Freestyle Trainer, USA, Vegas Straps. With a split design, you have freedom that TRX cannot give you. You can do all the exercises plus a lot more. You can vary your width of the grips, which you cannot do with a TRX. This allows you to do dips, hanging knee raises, pull-ups, etc., that cannot be done on a TRX. All which provide you with a more challenging workout than the traditional forms and more freedom as well. These are a heck of a lot cheaper options, not to mention that you can make your own.

Okay, it seems very well made, but its just straps and handles! I''m glad I got it and like using it. I''d recommend it but when you realize that you paid all that for just...okay, I won''t say it again!

The carrying bag it comes with is a little too small to conveniently get the TRX into. It can be done, but it wouldn''t have hurt to make it a little bigger.

Powerline PCH24X Roman Chair Back Hyperextension

Powerline PCH24X Roman Chair Back HyperextensionAfter a lot of shopping I purchased this Roman Chair. It arrived well packaged and clean. The instructions were a little complicated, but not terrible if you are used to assembling things. You definitely need a set of socket wrenches and/or fixed monkey wrench to assemble it.... a ratchet is even better(adjustable crescent won''t do it, neither will a suregrip plyers. Nuts and Bolts are large and need to really be tightened for the chair to be stable and work properly. So if you don''t have these tools be aware that you will need to buy or borrow one.. I can''t remember the size, approximately an 11mm I think. Then it is stable, I am almost 5 11" and when I started using this I was nearly 190, and stability wasn''t a problem. If you have tightened all the bolts and it continues to feel unstable, try putting sandbags or equivalent weights on the chair''s feet, I did this at first, and it helped. The overall extension is good, but the rear bar to catch your ankles is a little short, its adequate, but if your coordination is off, tired etc, it wouldn''t be impossible to slip. I extended the bar with some pipe I bought for a few dollars at that hardware store, and its a little more secure. This was something I just did, but may or may not be necessary.

Its not the cheapest of these machines, but its close, and compared to what I have read and seen of others if you are looking for a simple home version of this piece of equipment, this is a reasonably priced, light duty version of one. I like it, and the price was right. If you want something more substantial then consider spending more money, but this is a good work out machine, stable, essentially comfortable, simple. functional. Hope this is helpful.

I am 6''2",210 lbs and was looking for a durable back extension machine that was big enough for me. This product met my expectations and was a great price. Was also very easy to put together.

I''m a personal trainer with my own fitness studio. I purchased this even though many of my clients can''t use it due to back issues so, for occasional use, it will do fine. It wouldn''t last a week in a commercial gym but for home use, it should do what it''s supposed to do for years.

It comes with no instructions on use OR assembly, but the assembly is straight forward using the basic tools you probably have.

A word of caution. If you have existing lower-back issues (diagnosed or not), do hyperextensions with great care!

Cathe Friedrich''s STS Shock Cardio: Step Moves DVD

Cathe Friedrich''s STS Shock Cardio: Step Moves DVDThis DVD is a big disappointment. I''m a huge fan of Cathe Friedrich and own every single one of her workouts. I pre-order on the first day of her sale, no matter what the workout. Cathe was one of the first instructors to offer advanced home workouts. Her STS Weight Series is one of the best advanced strength training programs out there.

That being said, I hated this workout. This is my least favorite of all the Shock Cardio workouts. But, I always try to find something positive to say about my favorite instructor.

What I liked:

**DVD production quality was excellent and up to Cathe''s usual high standards. There were no problems with the sound.

**the backdrop is nice to see. It''s the same one as the STS Strength Series, a loft-style room with views of New York City.

What I really disliked:

**the whiney, techno hip hop music. Cathe''s choice of workout music isn''t always great, but in previous workouts I could overlook the music because I was enjoying the workout so much. Not so with this workout.

**no fun factor. Even Cathe doesn''t look like she''s enjoying herself. She''s rather subdued. I miss her enthusiastic and friendly persona. I can only do about 20 minutes of this workout before giving up, because of this and the awful music.

**overly long warm up. A 9 minute warm-up is not needed for a 30 minute low intensity workout.

**no cool down. At the end of the Step section, Cathe says, "okay, stop the DVD and cool down for several minutes and then come back to join us for a stretch." No, I don''t think so. When I stop the DVD, it''s over. I would have much preferred a shorter warm-up, a shorter stretch and at least a few minutes of cool down.

**misleading workout description. It''s described as an advanced workout. I call this an intermediate one. I used 2 risers, instead of one and I still couldn''t get my heart rate into my aerobic zone. The choreography is complex, so I guess you could consider that advanced.

I recommend any of Cathe''s other Step DVDs over this one.

I only started step about two months ago and am slowly working my way up through Cathe''s step video''s. I really love this video. It took me several tries to work out all the moves, but once you learn them you can really work up a sweat. The video is 44 minutes from beginning to end, but it feels much less than that. Once you get past the warm up you''re done before you know it. I agree with some of the other posts though. This video I think is more intermediate than advanced. I have some of her other step video''s and I can''t even begin to do those yet. Yet....

Buy Cathe Friedrich''s STS Shock Cardio: Step Moves DVD Now

I would love to give this a five star review, but I can''t seem to get through the whole DVD before giving up. I wanted more challenging choreography, but I feel like I could try this for the rest of my life and never figure out the steps. I can''t work up a sweat because I spend my whole time watching, unable to catch on. I have watched it without doing the moves twice, and twice have tried stopping after each new move to try it over and over with no luck. It looks like it would be fun of I could figure it out! For now, I''ll have to do my usual workout in the morning, and, if I have time in the evening, keep trying this little by little.

She is simply the best. Choreography could be broken down and layered, especially because I "borrowed" some of it for my classes, and ny students appreciate the different options. She is never too complicated, and with a few runs, you will really be enjoying it!!

Zephyr HxM Bluetooth Wireless Heart Rate Sensor for Android and Windows Phone 8

Zephyr HxM Bluetooth Wireless Heart Rate Sensor for Android and Windows Phone 8The Zephyr HxM heart rate monitor is without a doubt, the best bang for my buck that I''ve found while looking for a HRM. While new to biking and just getting back into weight lifting, this is the first HRM that I''ve used, and while expensive, it provides seemless, live, heart rate information on my Droid. I get to track my biking route through the Droid''s GPS, as well as my avg and top speed, average and top BPM''s, and so on.

This little baby frees me up from having to keep track of multiple devices, and allows me to use one device to track all of my information needs, and provide a little musical entertainment while on those long bike rides.

It''s accurate (when compared to the manual method of checking your pulse for 15 seconds then multipying that by 4), extremely light weight, and the belt is extremely easy to clean (just pop the monitor itself off the belt and wash!)

My only complaint is that the device only comes with a USB charger. Not very handy if you''re on vacation and not near a laptop of computer. However, the monitor''s battery gives you approximately 23 hours of use on a single charge, and after having it now for almost four weeks, it still has the same charge that I put on it after opening up the box!

If you''re into exercising and want to know where your heart rate is for optimal weight loss and muscle development, AND own an Android OS based smartphone, I *HIGHLY* recommend this baby!

Everything about this heart rate monitor seems so perfect from the soft comfortable fabric strap, the great battery life, the Bluetooth connectivity and range, to the compatibility with lots of great Android apps. I previously thought that the heart rate detection was inaccurate, because I found that it worked fine if you stay very still, but if you are moving around at all (e.g. using an elliptical, or jogging) the sensor will confuse the jogging motion for the heart rate. However, I have now found that I can solve that problem completely by prewetting the sensors with a little bit of water. I''m guessing this is a particular problem for me because I live in an air conditioned building, so my skin is usually very dry.

I''ve been analyzing the packets the device sends over Bluetooth, and have found out that, contrary to my previous belief, in addition to the average heart rate, the device transmits the actual RR intervals in milliseconds. This means that with the right software, the device could easily be used to analyze heart rate variability, and that you aren''t limited to the heart rate averaging algorithm that the device itself uses (which seems to be pretty solid anyway though).

I also love that they include a USB charging cradle. Much better than the Polar heart rate monitors with the expensive alkaline batteries that you have to replace every few weeks.

So in summary a great piece of kit. My only ask is that Zephyr makes the API available publicly for free; I think that would boost developer adoption and we''d see a lot of Zephyr HxM apps on the market.

Buy Zephyr HxM Bluetooth Wireless Heart Rate Sensor for Android and Windows Phone 8 Now

I really wanted to like this product it''s very cool to be able to integrate my HR with my Android phone & use SportsTrackLive to monitor my pace & distance, and to have my heart rate announced to me every X seconds while I''m running so I know just how I''m doing, all while listening to tunes on Pandora.

So, that''s great and all, but very frequently after a half hour or so, the Zephyr will tell me that my heart rate has dropped way down for example, from 160 to 80. It''s so irritating and makes me completely lose focus on my run when I hear the thing announce such a low heart rate. It''ll often happen during a very difficult part of the run when I''m really pushing myself, so it''s especially distracting when I know my HR has got to be getting close to the max and the thing tells me it''s at 80. I end up slowing way down and futzing with the unit, re-positioning the strap, unsnapping and resnapping the module, etc. Sometimes the HR will get back to normal again, but it''s typically a bit messed up from that point on.

I''ve followed all of the suggestions that are on the Zephyr web site, including wetting the strap, making sure it''s tight enough, and positioned high enough. I''ve also had several different phones in the time I''ve owned the Zephyr HXM, and this problem is consistent across all of them. I believe that the problem is happening after I''ve worked up a good sweat it seems to mess things up when it gets too wet. Another reviewer, "S. Cronin", had this same problem, so it''s not unique to me.

I have sent 4 emails to support over the past several months, and they haven''t answered a single one. I posted on their forum and this has not been answered either. I believe they''re ignoring me because they know that this issue has no solution. Either that or they just don''t care to answer emails from their customers. Either way, it''s not a good sign that the company won''t take the time to answer a customer who is having issues.

I finally got so fed up with it that I went out and bought a Garmin 610 with HR monitor, abandoning the tracking-runs-using-my-phone concept altogether. The Garmin is working great. The HR readings have all been accurate with no sudden drop-outs. I do miss having the voice cues, but I''m willing to sacrifice them in the interest of accuracy. I''ll just have to get used to looking at my wrist for HR data.

I recommend staying far away from this product. For me, I think it''s done more harm than good it is incredibly distracting having an inaccurate HR announced to you, especially when it happens when you''re really exerting yourself. There are a bunch of positive reviews out here, and I can''t say why they haven''t seen the issues that I have, but there are also several negative reviews. Maybe myself and the other negative reviewers just have a faulty units. If that''s the case, I still can''t get through to anybody at the company to replace it, and at this point I don''t even care to. Maybe my HR runs higher than the people who don''t have issues, and it''s confusing the unit & causing the bad data. Who knows all I know is I can''t get through to anybody to troubleshoot it, I''ve completely given up on the HXM and the Zephyr company in general, and will be tossing this one in the trash heap. It was a complete waste of time & money. My advice is to stay far, far away from this one. Maybe the bluetooth HRM from Polar is better......

---------------------

**UPDATE 7/21/11: I finally heard from Zephyr. They never did answer any of my emails to the support address, but I decided to give it one last try and sent an email to the address they give for requesting an RMA# to return a unit. I received instructions on how to return it, and they will be sending me a new one. Hopefully the new one doesn''t have the issues that my original did. So, I''m glad that I finally heard from them and that they''re willing to replace the unit, but the whole lack of answering any of the emails to support, or to the two individual addresses that I had tracked down still leaves me with a sour taste in my mouth... I can''t say for sure if the new one will have the issues that the old one had, but I''ll post my findings and will modify the review accordingly.

I''ve been using the HxM for a few weeks paired with my Motorola Droid (using 2 different apps) and I''m very happy with the product. Unlike my previous Polar strap, the HxM strap is all-fabric with no plastic contacts that get all sticky on my skin. Because let''s face it, when you''re working out, if you aren''t sweating you''re missing the point. The HxM is very light, thin, and soft. I could easily wear this all day. There''s plenty of battery life to last a week between recharges. If you want to get a leg up on working out and really get some peak performance out of your body, do yourself a favor and get the HxM now.

I was having a lot of reception issues with my Polar heart rate monitor. I was about to give up on the whole Bluetooth concept with an HRM, but gave the Zephyr a try since it had some positive reviews here on Amazon. I''m really glad I did! After three weeks of use for backpacking in Acadia National Park, several hundred miles of cycling, and a fair amount of running, it''s performed better than I could have hoped. It is extremely accurate (I am very adept at doing manual heart-rate counts), has tremendous range (and has a nice long 20hr life. As others have mentioned, you have to charge it with a USB connection into a notebook or PC, but that''s not an issue for me. If it''s a problem for you, get a really cheap adapter. My phone came with one, and I have a ton more of them from other devices I''ve owned in the past.

The main issue I had with my Polar is that while cycling, I got terrible reception to my HTC Sensation when keeping the phone anywhere but directly in front of my body. Bluetooth is pretty infamous for having a terrible time broadcasting through the human body, and so I had basically assumed that Bluetooth would never work for the application I needed for most: cycling. I tried this one out, and was very surprised at how well it worked. Just how good? I had my friend carry my phone on a ride, and it never lost connection as we road over 20 miles on a trail--the whole time we were fairly close together, but at times were at least 10-15 feet apart with the phone in his bike''s rear carrier. That really impressed me. I''ve worn this riding home in the rain and never lost connection--again something my Polaris struggled with.

This is the best heart rate monitor I''ve ever owned, and I''ve owned quite a few the last 5 years. It''s the only one that Bluetooth works properly on in my opinion. It''s worth spending a bit more for this unit vs. the Polar for that very reason.

I use the Zephyr literally everyday with Endomondo fitness tracker (look me up if you use Endomondo--I use my real name there too) and it''s been flawless. As an aside, I''ve tried most of the fitness trainers like Cardio Tracker and iMapMyRun and Endomondo beats them hands down, at least with my phone. Highly recommend this HRM and Endomondo both.

Feel free to ask questions in the comments--I''ll do my best to answer them.

*****Update*****

After a month and a half of use (on a nearly daily basis), I am still extremely impressed with the Zephyr. It just works.

However, I did want to note that when I housed it in my 100oz Camelbak, it lost connection with the chest strap. Since bluetooth doesn''t transmit well through water, I guess I could have predicted that it would have problems. So if you plan to use the Zephyr, keep in mind it won''t broadcast through your Camelbak & your body both.

Puma Men''s TB Running Split Shorts

Puma Men''s TB Running Split Shorts, New Team Royal, MediumThese are good looking, good quality shorts. But, be warned, they are wide in the hips. More like girl shorts. In fact, if you''re a girl you might want to give these a try. But if you''re a slender, no-hips/no butt guy like me, i.e. you have a typical runner''s body, think twice. They also run a tad wide in the waist compared to other brands in the same size. They do have a key pocket.

i bought these and then went running in them. i did not get arrested for indecent exposure. would recommend to anyone that is looking for a similar experience.

I got these shorts for a few races I have coming up. They they have a key pocket, elastic waist with a draw cord on the inside, lightweight and they feel like you have nothing on. Ordered a small and they fit true to size since I''m 5''8" and 162 lbs.

Split shorts are the only way to go for me, and these allow for a full range of motion, and are also light as a feather. I''d definitely buy these again; I also bought these a size larger than normal, and that seemed to work pretty well for me.

These shorts are exactly what I wanted. They are short and they allow full range of motion. However the tag is inexplicably large and very uncomfortable. It constantly scratches my lower back and butt and I find myself adjusting them all the time while running.

There are better options such as Soffe Men''s Running Short.

Lebert Equalizer

Lebert EqualizerThese are indeed great fitness tools, but $100 after a steep discount? for glorified pipe? Make a trip to the plumbing department, make your own custom-fit version for less out of 2" PVC, or, spend a little more on galvanized pipe and get a stronger final product.

I just received my Lebert Equalizer, yesterday. Easy assembly, although I was missing the 5mm allen wrench to assemble it all and so had to dig one out of my toolbox. Also, I had to bend the washers that came with it because the bend that was on them didn''t match the profile of the tubes. So assembly took a little more time than normal, i suppose. I used some ''thread-lock'' on the screws for good measure.

After assembly, it worked great. It''s very sturdy and stable. I keep it tucked in a corner of my living room and have at it during commercials.

Some suggestions: Although I don''t mind the yellow, I would have liked it in black. Also, the hand pads could extend the full length of the horizontal top and the feet could be of a better rubber instead of plastic caps. Also, no reason why it can''t be about 6 inches taller for us taller folks at 5''10".

Not a bad piece of exercise equipment, overall.

Awesome for CrossFit workouts. Mobile enough to take with you to the track or while traveling. Provides an all over workout that can be scaled to any person. I can do gymnastic movements from dips, handstands, and rows. My wife, who is working to do real pushups, can do assisted pushups and rows instead of pullups. A great tool for exercise.

Power Punch MMA Boxing Gloves, Mixed Martial Arts

Power Punch MMA Boxing Gloves, Mixed Martial ArtsSo, I just purchased these bad boys. After using for 3 days now, I have to say they are excellent. The resistance is nice, and they actually work. You can definitely feel it when you are finished.

Con: The gloves are a little uncomfortable. For the price, I wish they would feel better. It is obvious that the resistance of the bands are pulling at the gloves and applying a lot of pressure in between your fingers, which causes an annoying pain when you are trying to work out.

If you can work through the discomfort of the gloves, they are definitely worth the money. I would not give them up, but if you feel like the discomfort from the fingers may bother YOU, they are not worth the purchase.

So I first saw these gloves on Amazon and then checked out the company website and found out they have a new and improved style. I ordered them for myself and LOVE them. I cancelled my gym membership and use them at home along with all work out DVDS I own. They are so versital giving me a full gym work out with a simple piece of equiptment. Great gift for a busy woman in your life or for guys getting into the MMA world. Perfect training tool. Love it

AVIA Men''s A1371M Fitness Shoe

AVIA Men''s A1371M Fitness Shoe,White/Black,8.5 MThe shoes look good! I was very happy with the appearance.

The right shoe was fine, nice support, nice fit, leather seemed to be quality.

The left shoe was a different story!

It felt like it was a size too small. My big toe was pushing out against the side of the shoe and hurt like all get out!

Very uncomfortable, I refereed 2 basketball games while wearing and my foot was KILLING me when it was over!

Only wore the shoes about 2 1/2 hours, but it seemed like a lifetime.

AS USUAL, Amazon customer service was 101%!!! Was able to return with NO questions asked!

I won''t buy Avia again, but will always consider Amazon when buying anything!

As a side note, the only thing that didn''t seem to be quality was the back of the shoe. Seemed a little thin towards the top.

BTW, I ordered a size 12.

I like these shoes. Good form fit and light on the feet. I can walk around all day in these without any fatigue, and they are really good on a run, also!

UFC Weighted Jump Rope

UFC Weighted Jump RopeI''ve been using speedropes for preworkout warm ups and cardio conditioning for years and I''ve gone through a ton of them from the standard everlast to the buddy lee aero''s. Speedrope training is a great exercise that you can have alot of fun with. Becoming proficient in is allows you to enter a trance like state where the time flies by and fat just burns. It works your shoulders but more importantly your legs muscles which are your largest calorie burning muscles. It also can increase hormone production that will help sculpt your body. Boxing trainers around the world consider 10 mins of speedrope training the equivalent of 30 mins on a treadmill. For the price of admission, and practice, it''s worth it.

Onto the UFC speedrope. I was skeptical at first thinking it would be some cheap jumprope with a UFC branding slapped on it but was pleasantly surprised. I''ve used it roughly 6 times so far as warm ups to my workouts. The weight of the handles can take some getting used to. Going from an everlast to this requires an adjustment period before you are able to trick out with double unders. The weight, as well as the actual cord is adjustable, but I haven''t modified it yet because i want to get my bearings first before changing anything. The handles are nice and comfortable. They fit great in the palms and there is a little indent for your thumbs. It''s made mostly of hard plastic but has these red rubber like linings the prevents them from slipping out of your hands.

The actual cord seems to be a standard black nylon (?) cord that is thinner then most other ropes, but this rope also has a thicker coating of clear plastic over that which seems very durable. I haven''t noticed any damage to the cord thus far so I figure it will last as long as the others with consistant use (most likely 3-6 months). Speedropes break, it''s annoying, it''s life. Get used to it. I''m expecting to have to buy another one of these by the end of the year.

All in all, i can tell it is worth the 15 bucks. Hope this helps you.

I recently broke my favorite speedrope, so needless to say I was in the market for a new one, but I didn''t really know what I was looking for. The broken was was my father''s and there were no markings on it to tell the manufacturer, so I decided to try a different better one.

I bought three.

One was a cheap 9'' rope by Rival. It is far too long for me (I am 6'' tall) and it feels cheap. I also bought an 8'' ball bearing rope because it was only $10 and it was a cool color. That rope is very light and rather fun to use for a time. But because this UFC rope arrived in the mail before that rope, I always come back to it. It is very easy to adjust and is now the perfect length for my height. The rope is very very fast. The handles have a good weight to them and the grips are very ergonomic. For twice the price of the ball bearing rope, the UFC rope is infinitely many times greater than that rope, and even better than the one I had sought to replace. I love this rope.

Buy UFC Weighted Jump Rope Now

I got this rope yesterday (6-1-12) and decided to try it out this morning. I haven''t Jumped rope in years and forgot how great of a workout it was.

The Handles were very comfortable. The Rope weight was just right. It didn''t take much to get the rope going and keep it going. It didn''t tangle on me at all during my 20 minute workout.

I went to our local stadium to use my rope because they have a very nice track that is made of asphalt and rubber pieces. Very soft , low impact and easy on the feet. After I was finished I checked the abrasions on the rope and found it was very very minimal so I will be using my rope at the stadium.

I''m a 5''6" dude that weighs 145 Lbs. I find that I needed to shorten the rope a bit because it forced me to stick my hands way out to the side. While this is nice because it works the arms heavily it just feels uncomfortable. I''ll be taking about 4"8" from the rope and it should be perfect for me.

I''m Totally pleased with this product so far. I will add an update if anything goes wrong with the rope but from what I see so far, I probably won''t.

I''be been using this for about a month now the weight surprised me at first but easily adaptable and I don''t notice it any more. The cord is the only problem when it arrived it was tightly bound together and has never lost the "kinks" in the line. Its only an annoyance when I start to jump once I start going fast enough it seems to smooth out until I slow down or stop but those are the times it catches my feet!

This is a really good rope & especially for a noob like me. The quality seems very heavy duty...

It has some weird chemicals on it when you open so I suggest you wipe it really good.

Scosche IPTM myTREK - Wireless Pulse Monitor

Scosche IPTM myTREK - Wireless Pulse Monitor
  • Work out from up to 33 ft away from your device.
  • Control music from the armband while you work out.
  • No bulky chest straps or wires.
  • Wirelessly connects to iPod or iPhone.
  • Audio prompts for real-time feedback while you work out.

My needs are fairly simple....I have tried (and liked) several of the Polar and Timex monitors that require chest straps. But this device is slick....especially becuase it links with an iphone app--and I was using the iphone for music on my workouts and/or for gps on outdoor walking, etc.

However, the Scosche Mytrek app is horrible....inconsistent, doesn''t work, requires my iphone to be rebooted, etc. But there is an app, Digifit, that recogizes the device and works great. I use it every day. Haven''t fully compared every feature of the two apps, but it''s kind of a moot point as my needs are pretty basic, and the Digifit works great, and works and plays well with other apps (especially when multitasking). Without the Digitfit app, I probably would rate the device a 1 rather than a 4.

Only downsides are that the device needs to be chaged between uses, and overall the iphone battery life is an issue when using this (and iphone criticism, not a Scosche criticism!) If you''re using the app, GPS, listening to music, occassionally surfing the net while working out, etc. it really runs the battery down quickly,

The hardware is good and measuring heart rate seems accurate; unfortunately, the MyTrek software is horrible.

There is an alternative compatible software, Digifit, mentioned on the Scosche website and mentioned in another review, which is excellent. Even though I had to pay a couple of bucks for Digifit, the combination makes it solid heart rate monitor solution for me.

I bought this device to help monitor my heart rate for my daily jogs. While the hardware itself is fairly adequate, the iPhone software is woefully lacking. After loading the Scosche app for the first time, the app promptly failed without warning and spontaneously quit. I rebooted my phone many times and paired/unpaired the device without success. The only workaround I found was to delete the app and reinstall it, which gave the app one more life until it went into a crazy crashing cycle all over again.

I''m giving the hardware 4 stars, and the overall package a 3 star rating because there''s a perfectly good workaround to these problems: Digifit. Digifit is a nice dashboard that aggregates workout data from a variety of sensors including pedometers and heart rate monitors. So far, I''ve been pretty happy with using the MyTrek band as a sensor and Digifit as the accompanying software solution.

I have been getting back into running for a while now and using the app Nike+ GPS. I got the Scosche myTREK because I liked the idea of getting more info than Nike+ GPS provides like my heart rate and calories burned. I must say this product is amazing. Scosche does a great job of providing everything you need in the box and then some, including 3 different size straps. The unit is small and you can barely feel it. The set up is very easy and the app is very easy to use. I found I was actually burning way more calories on my runs than Nike+ GPS was estimating. I highly recommend this great product!

Background:

I''m a technology guy who runs long distances. I wanted a heart-rate monitor to tell when I''m overheating in the summer. (It''s hard to monitor body temperature, but when you get too hot, your heartrate spikes). I had a Polar chest band system, which worked well but I really hated running with the tight chest band.

What this is:

It is an armband that goes on the thick part of your forearm NOT your wrist. It shines green light onto the hairless part of your arm and uses the reflection to determine when your heart beats. The device does NOT have a display. You need an iPhone to view your heartrate. The charger plugs into a USB slot it does NOT plug into a wall socket. It DOES use bluetooth to talk to your iPhone, so you don''t need to plug anything into your iPhone to make it work.

iPhone & App:

I have an old 3GS. I used the Digifit app, based on the recommendations here. The app ("Digifit iCardio Multi-sport Heart Rate...") is free, but it costs $3 to have it connect to the Scorsche myTREK.

Setup:

I had no problem charging the device. It connected easily to Digifit. It took a while to understand the armband there are two different straps included to fit different size forearms. I use the smaller one and it is almost too large. (And I''m a 200 lb. guy who boxes...) In Digifit, you want to press "Workout" NOT "Quick Start". "Workout" has the good features "Quick Start" is for people who didn''t pay $3. I did have to enable bluetooth on my iPhone. (I had disabled it to save battery.)

Experience:

Overall, it''s okay. It seems to take a while for the device to "lock on" to your actual heartrate. It often says 72 at startup, when my non-workout heartrate is less than that. After a while, it gets it right. I don''t think the software handles changing heartrates well, but it does get the steady ones right. The graph of heartrates when I went for a 10 mile run was what I expected.

The Digifit app has some problems. It claimed that my 10 mile run was 13 miles. When ran by the reservoir in Central Park, the app somehow thought I jumped to the opposite side of the water. And then jumped back again. There was another jump somewhere in the run, but I made two rounds of a loop and the app couldn''t show those loops on the map separately.

I don''t like that I have to get the phone out just to check my heartrate. It also takes 3-4 seconds for the phone to unlock and for the app to wake up. (It''s a 2 year old phone, but this is slower than any other app except the camera.) Given this and that the device takes time to "lock on to" a changed heart-rate, I''m not sure how useful for checking for extreme heart rates.

Using Digifit and the device does chew up phone battery. It used up 80% of my battery in 2hrs and 15 minutes.

One thing I did like about the Digifit app is that it recorded my max heartrate and shows all numbers as a percentage of that.

The armband is comfortable and light. I forget it is there when I''m running, which never happens with the Polar chest strap!

Conclusion:

If you want to track your average heartrate through a workout, and have an iPhone with you, and won''t go so long as to run out the battery on your iPhone, and don''t need to move your arms heavily, this is a comfortable solution. Much more pleasant than a chest strap.

I think it''s an okay "version 1.0". It has its faults, but it''s much more comfortable than a chest strap for runners, bikers, etc. I wish it had its own heartrate display. I wish it was better at calculating the current heartrate. I wish the Digifit app used less battery and handled distance better. These few things better would make a solid "version 2.0" product.

BurstFIT: Dr. Josh Axe''s Complete Home Fitness Workout DVD Program

BurstFIT: Dr. Josh Axe''s Complete Home Fitness Workout DVD ProgramI have been a follower of Dr. Josh Axe for about 6 months now and I really like a lot about what he says in terms of nutrition and exercise. I also have read a lot in the past year concerning high intensity interval training (HIIT) and the many benefits of it. My favorite being it doesn''t take a lot of time, perfect for, well...everyone. But as a full-time working mom of a 4-year and a 1-year old kid, I like something that gives me great benefits without having to spend time away from my family, paying for a gym, and taking hours of time working out. What I love about BurstFIT is that each section is 23 minutes long (20 minutes of working out with 30 second rests every couple minutes). I can spare 23 minutes. You don''t need a ton of room, which is good in my tiny living room, or a lot of equipment. I enjoy that I get strength training and cardio workout all in one and that each workout session works on different parts of your body in one session. I also like that he has 3 assistants, 1 beginner, 1 intermediate, and 1 expert level, so you can see the different variations and choose which level that you are at for working out. I, of course, am a beginner and while I normally feel I''m in fairly decent shape, I''m not an athlete and I''m definitely feeling it working out at the beginner level. I also enjoy that Dr. Axe corrects his assistants if their form or method is not right, it keeps me in check that I''m doing things correctly as well. I haven''t done all 7 workouts yet as I pre-ordered this from his website and it was delivered to me on Monday, so I''ve been able to complete 3 sessions so far. Each one has been challenging and I feel very accomplished at the end. In terms of HIIT, he moves you quickly from one exercise to the next, we each exercise set working on multiple body parts at once, to get your heart rate up. Approximately every few minutes you get a 30 second break and then onto the next workout. Another thing I like with these DVDs is that he runs a timer in the bottom left corner, so you know the time left for the exercise set, the total time left for the DVD and in the bottom right corner, he lets you know what is coming up next. There''s nothing fancy with these DVDs, which to me is perfect. After just 3 days, I''ve already recommended these DVDS to about 5 of my friends. I think they are great!

Also with this set is his quick-start guide and a nutrition guide. I haven''t used the nutrition guide yet for some health reasons, but I have perused and am interested in several recipes. I am currently following the quick-start guide which is 4 week weight loss guide with 6 workouts a week. I personally recorded my weight and measurement numbers on Day 1 and plan on updating my review after 4 weeks to let others know how I did.

I love these workouts! If your looking to get in shape and especially lose weight on a tight schedule this is perfect for you. I''m not trying to lose weight, but get stronger no tone up! I''m a 21 year old senior in college and I''m sweating and breathing heavy after every workout!

It''s could be better if they added stretch time or at least told people to stretch.

I also do some workout before some of them.

Ex. I do the 100 push-up plan and 20 push-up plan with these workouts and some arm stuff.

But I consider myself more advanced, but these are excellent still. I''ve been doing it for a month and I already see results and feel great!
