Purchased so I could push swimming to more than one mile a day. This makes swimming laps sooooooooooo much more enjoyable.

I''m disabled vet and can''t do a lot of sports and exercises like I used to, but I can swim. I was up to a mile but it gets so tedious swimming laps. I bough this and today i did 2 miles for first time!

I swim fully underwater and it works. What''s more to say?

I clip it to the back of my goggles and put extra wire from earbuds under the the goggle strap and it works wonderfully. Used it twice now and it just stays in place and works wonderfully. Will update if it fails in unreasonable short amount of time, but I am very impressed so far.

I purchased the Waterfi waterproof shuffle with the sole purpose of using it for swimming. While it''s a high price for an iPod shuffle, all of the waterproofing is internal to the tiny unit. That means there''s no need for a big clunky case adding weight and reducing usabilility, especially while in the water. It works great, and I highly reccomend the unit.

The in-water user experience is excellent. Since you don''t need any extra case peripherals to make it waterproof it''s still small enough to clip onto the headband of swim goggles. Wrap the headphone cable up and zip tie it to the headband as well and you don''t have to worry about catching cables and ripping earbuds out while in the water. That''s great.

The only caveats I have are due to that same internal waterproofing. It makes the buttons much harder to press and less sensative. It''s often hard to tell if you pressed the button or not since the tactile feedback is masked by, what I assume are, the gaskets needed to keeping water from destroying the unit. While this is slightly annoying, it doesn''t hinder usability. It just makes the tactile feel less satisfying.

The second caveat is, and this is (or was when I got mine) stated in the Waterfi user guide, that in order to maintain the best water seal you should avoid sliding the power switch as much as possible. Again, this is understandable and doesn''t really affect the usability of the product... except when you forget to put it back on the charger for a couple days and run out of battery in the middle of a workout. Yes, it''s a personal responsibility thing to remember to put it on the charger, but all that really does is make you feel kind of like an idiot during your workout instead of just being annoyed that your music is gone.

All in all I''m very happy with the unit and would buy another one if mine died. Which... it hasn''t. So that''s also a plus since I''ve had it for over a year.

I purchased the Apple Ipod waterproofed by Waterfi in mid-Nov 2012 and it worked great until mid-Feb 2013 (about three months). It will no longer hold a charge. I contacted Waterfi and was instructed by Waterfi to return the Ipod and they would replace the battery. I sent the Ipod back on Feb 20 via certified mail. The USPS has attempted to deliver the Ipod twice, but no one at Waterfi will sign for it.
