Icebreaker Men''s Long Sleeve Sprint Zip

Icebreaker Men''s Long Sleeve Sprint ZipI never dreamed wearing wool could be so comfortable! Plus, it insulates well, layers nicely, and naturally repels body oders. What more could I want? I''m very happy with my purchase.

I use this top for running in cool weather (upper 50''s F and under) and as a light jacket when walking home from the gym. Merino wool is the best fabric I''ve found for running in until the temperature hit the low 70''s then I prefer the synthetic stuff because it seems a little cooler in the high humidity where I live although the polyester stuff smells pretty bad at the end of a work out. In the upper 30''s I need to wear another lightweight layer, such as a 150 weight or a light wind breaker with this top. I also will run in the "bodyfit" 200 weight and 150 weight (which used to be 100% merino but not longer is unfortunately) Icebreaker tops, both of which I''d highly recommend for running and life in general, but they lack the collar, zipper, and thumb holed sleeves.

Things I like about the Sprint Zip:

Wool breathes really great and is very comfortable to break a sweat in

The weight is good and is not so heavy that it gets too hot for our mild SC winters. Way more comfortable than the synthetic light windbreaker running jackets.

Collar is nice before and after a run to stay a little warmer. The collar is comfortable both fully zipped and when its unzipped.

Zipper is great for venting and is very easy to adjust while running. The zipper''s length is nice.

The fit is OK for my needs. Its not skin tight so I can pull it over another shirt easily or wear it around non-runners after a workout without looking too strange but its also not too lose. I''m 6ft 1in, 150 lbs and have the large. The arms were too short in the medium size. Smaller sizes would be tighter obviously.

Like other merino gear, I can run (and sweat) in the top 3-4 times before needing to wash it as long as I let it hang dry between uses. Besides being a constant source of fascinating its also a time saver and maybe a money saver.

Things that could be better:

The arms need to be about 1in longer for the thumb holes to work well for me. I can make them work but I really need to stretch the arms to do so which I suspect causes the arms to be less warm. I wish Icebreaker would make a "tall" version of their long sleeve tops.

Assuming the arm length was better for me I would also want the top to be 100% merino. I have another Icebreaker 200 top that IS 100% merino but does not have the zipper and collar which makes it less versatile than the Sprint. It seems to hold off odor slightly better which I suspect is due to the fabric being 100% merino but that''s just a guess. This is minor though.
