SPRI Xercise Ball

SPRI SB55VC 55cm Total Body Xercise BallMy trainer wanted me to get one of these. I looked on Amazon, found this one and ordered it. It wasn''t the brand she suggested so I thought she might think I''d got an inferior product but in fact she said it was one of the best out there. I''ve had it a few months and it seems to be holding up well.

This exercise ball works great for me as a desk chair. I spend a lot of time at my computer, since I teach online, and I decided that sitting in a chair is just too lazy. This exercise ball is perfect. It has stayed perfectly inflated now for about 2 weeks, with tons of use. The pump is great, better than the old style pumps that needed a special tip. The tip is built right in, you don''t have to worry about losing it. And it also comes with a little fork-like thing when you need to pry out the plug and inflate or deflate the ball. I haven''t yet checked out the video, but I plan to start using the ball for exercise, too.

I recommend to use a ball pump instead of the pump that comes with the exercise ball.

It took awhile to pump the ball. It was deceiving at first, thinking that it was a smaller sized balled they gave us, but if you pump the ball enough, it''ll eventually stop growing at 21", actual size of the ball.

It''s pretty sturdy. Only starting to use it now, but so far so good.

I ordered this ball because they''re rated as one of the best quality exercise balls in this price range. I returned it without inflating because it was not the same color as advertised. (I wouldn''t care normally but I''m in a studio apt and want it to match.) I can''t give a full/decent review because of this but wanted to stick a note up for others so they''d know what I didn''t.

The ball that came was a soft/light black with a slight sheen to it from the outside PVC texture. The texture was not smooth nor excessively gummy, it would be good to grip for exercises. No oily film/liquid was on the ball. It also appeared to be thicker than some other balls, good quality. The pump looked mediocre, the tip is a screw-in plastic nozzle instead of a needle. The hole for pumping up the ball is about 1/4" in diameter which is then stuffed with an included plastic plug (white).

I don''t know if they gave me the higher-quality ball they have of this size (55cm) which is normally black, or if they changed colors in production for the Xercise. I couldn''t tell.

I purchased an exercise ball from Sam''s Club a while ago thinking that it would be good for me to use as a birthing ball while pregnant. Then when I became pregnant and tried to use it, the material for the ball was too stretchy so it just squashed down when I sat on it. It was completely useless.

Immediately when opening the package for the Total Body Xercise Ball, I could tell that this ball wouldn''t do that because the material seemed thicker and more resistant to stretching. Sure enough that''s exactly the case! I am in my last trimester of pregnancy and have gained more weight than I''d like but this ball holds up! I was a little skeptical of ordering from this vendor because the sizing listed is off but I''m glad I did.
