Yukon Fitness Commercial Flat Olympic Bench

There is not a significant number of reviews for quality olympic benches online. I was in the market for the type of flat bench that you would find in any good gym. Most "olympic" benches on the market for home gym''s are unstable and seem unsafe for lifting any amount of weight. I priced the exact brand used by my local YMCA and they were over $1,000. I took a chance ordering this bench and could not be happier.

It is extremely sturdy. You can''t rock this bench from side to side with or without weight on the bar. The photo on Amazon shows the brackets where the bar rests as being cylindrical and having 4 different positions to rest the bar. My bench came with the more traditional angled flat steel brackets and have 3 positions instead of 4. It still offers all the positions I need but thought I would note that it was different that what appeared in the photo.

The bench was very easy to assemble. I did have another person available to assist with holding some parts while I got the bolts in place but I believe that a person could assemble the bench solo. Assembly took 15 minutes. I have friends that weight in excess of 360lbs and they are able to use the bench with no wobbling. I can''t stress how sturdy and well built this bench is. The pad is sufficient. It''s what you would expect from a bench that you use at a gym.

The only negative I would point out is that the black paint will scratch above the bracket when you put the bar back after finishing your sets. It''s not a major concern of mine and I would have been surprised if it didn''t. With the grip texture on a quality olympic bar it would be difficult to not scratch the paint.

Overall I would not hesitate to recommend this bench for anyone looking for a quality commercial grade olympic flat bench. I have been using it for months now and could not be more pleased.

Great quality on this item. Very sturdy well worth the money. Researched other sites and this was by far the least expensive. Had one issue, it was shipped without the spotter stand. The company said it wasn''t included. After some discussion and their review of the ad on Amazon they agreed and mailed the spotter stand.

This bench is worth the money, before buying it I was coming to terms with getting ripped off by lower quality benches that were mailed to me with defective parts that would have fit loosely and dangerously together even if they were made right. This bench is sturdy and surprisingly easy to put together. I got it together in maybe 25 minutes by myself. It doesn''t shake or wobble, its pretty quality craftsmanship and I don''t regret spending the 500 bucks. I thought it over for about a week before deciding to take a chance, cause well the internet isn''t exactly the most reliable place to buy something, and yeah I''m totally happy. So if your gonna invest in the sport don''t be afraid to spend a little extra, I mean a difference of 100 dollars could be the difference between a safe lift and a damaged rotator cuff and having to take 2 months off of lifting to heal, which is what happened to me....

Found it on google for $650 $499 with free shipping is a good deal. This is exactly like the benches at the gym, only in mint condition and without some guys sweaty head marks all over it.

Seriously just bought this July 2012 and I am extremely happy with the purchase.
