100 lb Resistance - Lifeline Fitness Cable 5''

100 lb Resistance - Lifeline Fitness Cable 5''Perfectly good cable. It is 5 feet long so I had to rig it a bit to fit my older Lifeline product. As my title suggests, this is an incredibly powerful cable, so don''t let the 100 lbs. fool you.

You''re simply the best, better than all the rest

Better than anyone, anyone I''ve ever met

I''m stuck on your heart, and hang on every word you say

Tear us apart, baby I would rather be dead

The video shows the easiest way I have found to insert this strand into the handle.

This strand (Lifeline USA R10 100 lbs black cable) is a very valuable tool and for its utility, very lowly priced.

Some have noted, as well as I, that these cables from Lifeline USA are extremely useful for increasing strength, especially in the Military Press. Unlike a barbell, one cannot use any inertia for pressing. Like a barbell, one has to stabilize one''s body while pressing (assuming one is standing on the strand). While a strict military press is not just a feat of strength, but of discipline also, one has no choice but to be strict when pressing strands (except, it is possible to lean back a little, which I recommend one counter by tensing the entire body and tensing the abdominal muscles).

Putting this strand in the center of a Lifeline Triple Grip Handle, and putting strands as needed on the outside, makes for a very compact, light, portable, and highly effective barbell replacement. It can be used to do presses, squats, lateral raises, and variations of this merely by standing on it. With the door attachment and a suitably strong door/place to attach, one may have even more options, although, that is not the purpose for which I have bought it.

Due to the thickness of this strand, I find it uncomfortable to stand on with bare feet.

One issue people seem to have is inserting this strand. It is very thick, and one does have to stretch it more than the other strands, and considering its resistance, this can be difficult. The video with this review hopefully shows a more effortless way to insert it. Please note, in the video, I snap it after inserting it. This was an accident because I had done this several times before this, because I kept pulling the strand out of frame, so I was just happy to get it on camera. One does have to stretch it a substantial amount and it is only after seeing the video of me doing it that I realized how far was required. The first time I inserted a strand, I did it like I did with lighter cables, and although that is certainly possible, it is not something I recommend as it is not very efficient.

Getting it out of the handle is the same process in reverse, although, one has to loosen the plug. One can wiggle it out, but it is easy to pull out with some aid to gripping the short end above the plug.
