Harbinger Flexfit Training Gloves

Harbinger Men''s FlexFit Weight Lifting Gloves, XX-LargeI like Harbinger but this particular glove has a bad design. I never thought gloves could increase discomfort. It seems to me that it would be really hard to do because you have a piece of cloth that protects your hand but somehow Harbinger figured out a way to make it feel worse. The stitching on the inside of the glove near the thumb and the index finger has so much extra loose fabric that sometimes when I do my heaviest lifting, normally on an incline bench, it pinches the skin between my thumb and finger which is extremely painful. It totally caught me off guard the first time and I almost dropped the weights. Even the cheap disposable gloves I bought at walmart were more comfortable. I should mention I also own the Harbinger 143 Men''s Pro FlexClosure Wash & Dry Gloves which are cheaper and much more comfortable. It might be that the 143''s have extra padding. Maybe these thin gloves are great for people who don''t lift allot or other types of workouts that don''t involve an incline bench or maybe mine has bad stitching? I''m not an expert but I do know they hurt my hand when I use them.

These are solid lifting gloves. Anti-microbial works well; no smell. I''ve washed them twice over the past 4 months, as they do eventually start to smell (naturally). I lift hard and heavy and they''ve withstood the torture. There''s not a lot of padding, which is what I wanted (it offers better and more accurate grips).

I''d buy another pair for sure.

These gloves have a good grip, and the mesh on the back of the hand permites perpiration to evaporate easily. They contain an antibacterial agent that allows for them not to smell.

These gloves are perfect for weight lifting and spinning. I use for both. There is plenty of padding to protect the hands and fingers without being so much that it hinders getting a good grip on dumbbells and kettle bells. The material between the fingers is soft and pliable so it does not chafe the skin in that area. The thumb area is constructed such that the thumb is mobile without pulling, rubbing against and irritating the skin between the thumb and first finger. There is a bit of excess material in the seam around the thumb that would not lay down consistently in the same direction, so I trimmed that back to the stitching and it has been fine. Across the palm and the back of the glove are gussets so that the palm does not get pinched when clutching something, nor does the back of the hand feel tight, bound and restricted. These end right at the wrist and the Velcro closure holds the gloves securely in place.

I go through two or three pairs a year of these beauties. That''s nothing for me, I push around a wheelchair wearing these gloves 16 hours a day. Rain or shine, indoors and out. These gloves are butter-soft, no breaking in time. They mold almost instantly due to the contoured cut. Tougher than all in a lightly-padded category, and yet they don''t hinder movement. I''ve been wearing gloves for over 25 years, the Flexfitthis particular gloveis perfect for this quadriplegic manual chair-user. I''m extremely picky for something that I need all day every day. And they look dam cool too. I try others now and again, I always seem to come back to this exact Harbinger glove. 5 stars.
