CardioCallanetics DVD

CardioCallanetics DVDThis is the workout I''ve been waiting so long to do. Thank you so much! I bought Callan''s book, Forever Fit which has the Cardio workout, but I''ve always found it easier to workout with DVDs. Once I had back surgery Step and Dance aerobics and even the Walking aerobics made my back pain flare up. When they say pain free, they mean pain free with Callanetics. Your muscles will feel fatigued, and a bit sore, but not painful. Plus, I really like the new energy of this workout with Sandra and company. I still love Callan''s originals, but it''s always good to get a fresh approach to a classic program. These women are great at what they do, I couldn''t be happier.

I have been into fitness for a lot of years (over 20), more recently, have gained a permanent injury in my ankle and was looking for very low impact cardio exercises. Well, I was so nicely surprised, not only does my heart get going in the cardio section, but the toning section is toning muscles I had forgotten about. I only wish I had bought this a long time ago. The difference in this system is the focus you need to place on doing the exercises right, the use of the pelvic floor makes the exercises get really intense, yet its all so enjoyable. I sincerely noticed more tightness on my body the very next day, and, in my third week, its still happening. So far, the more I do it, the better I get at holding my pelvic floor and posture, the more the exercises actually work. It does take focus though.

I bought this DVD out of curiousity. I am a fan of the "original" Callanetics and wanted to see if there could be any "useful" enhancement of the program. Callanetics was and is a program for toning and strength. Also, it is a great workout!!! Incorporating "yoga" and "aerobics" is unnecessary and needless for a program that is already complete for your needs. Buy the "original" it''s worth it, this isn''t. "If it ain''t broke don''t fixit!"

I just pulled this out again to see if I changed my mind about it. I did not! This workout is not only rather boring (I definitely missed her) it seems to not follow Callan''s care about safeguarding knees. Most of the exercises are based on lunges whether or not they are deep ones. I would recommend getting out older Callanetics exercises for great toning (especially the 20 minute targeted ones) and doing some other form of aerobic exercise.

The DVD is nice and gives a good work out.

The problem that I have is that someone unfamiliar with these moves is lost.

I had to watch the DVD 4 times before I could do some of the moves.

Detailed instructions should have been given for each specific move.
