I''ve been sitting on a plain ball for some time, but found that in the summer, the latex is too hot, and you tend to sweat in places that can be uncomfortable. I tried to put a towel over the ball, but then it was too slick to stay on.

I saw this, and figured that since the legs adjust, this might be ideal. The ball won''t move as much, so I could use a towel as padding to give me a layer between myself and the ball latex. This part of the plan worked! It''s much more comfortable now.

However, the wheels on the chair are not very good. I will have to call the vendor soon and ask for some replacements already, (a couple of the wheels don''t swivel very well, so the chair is very "jerky" when you try to scoot in it). Also, be careful to adjust it first, as if you have it too high and try to sit in it, it will shoot out from under you with an amazing velocity.

Note also the wheel locks are very easily accidentally set by hitting them with your feet. The wheels and wheel locks on this chair are actually not well designed or thought out.

I have the old model of this chair at home, and just got the newer one for work. It''s great that the height is adjustable, and changing the setting is pretty easy. The pump that comes with this chair is also a bit faster and easier to use than the one that came with the earlier model.

The one down side of this chair, as someone else commented, is that every wheel has a lock and since you lock them by pushing down on a lever, it''s very easy to lock a wheel without realizing it.

I believe the older model has locks on only some of the wheels, which I think is a better design. That said, the locking-prone wheels are not a deal breaker, and are worth putting up with in order to get the adjustable height. I have taken to just giving my chair a slight nudge before I try to roll it over to the recycling bin or whatever. If there''s resistance, I reach down and flip up the locking mechanism.

I tried to make this chair work for me, but after three weeks I am giving up on it and returning it to Amazon for a refund. I just found the chair a major hassle to use. It doesn''t work well on carpet, even with the thickest, hardest office chair mat I could find. It doesn''t roll well and it''s hard to get it into position. I want to go one way but the chair wants to another. And, as several others have noted, the tabs that lock the wheels in place protrude outward from the casters. There are five of them. I am hardly clumsy, but it is impossible for me to stop from accidentally kicking them and locking a wheel. A lot of times you don''t realize that you''ve done it. I''m not sure why the wheels need to lock anyway. The chair also makes a lot of noise, believe it or not. It feels cheap and not well constructed. I kept putting the chair aside and used a kitchen chair at my desk instead. The product description on the website neglects to inform you that the exercise ball included is for people 5 feet five and under. You learn that when the package arrives. I just decided that $80 is a lot of money for a product that I am not using, so it will go back to Amazon.

This is possibly the greatest chair that I have ever sat on. I homeschool my son, and had been having back pain from sitting on a hard IKEA chair for 4th grade math...I have a very healthy back, teach classes at the YMCA....YET my back had been hurting. It stopped the VERY day I got this chair....you may want to stop reading this and drive straight to your local Target to buy one (mine had it--a nice minus for the shipping). My hubby has the older version of this chair from Gaiam at his work....he loves it....but what I love about this version is that the legs, and the back rest are adjustable...great for the core, and posture to use this chair. My back feels as good when I sit on it as if I had just done a workout class....loose and relaxed. It deserves 6 stars IMO. Thank you Gaiam!!!!! p.s I am 5'' 7" and find the near lowest leg setting very comfortable.

I really like this chair and recommend it for folks looking for a chair that will help with their posture and core while also being more comfortable.

I''ve used an exercise ball before as a chair and the primary issue was keeping the ball in place when you got up. This ball with stand cures that ill completely. The little lumbar back support was probably an unnecessary addition, but some folks might like it. I found that the support bar was set low and far enough back that using the support encouraged incorrect posture. Nor was it any more comfortable. But you don''t have to use the support bar; just sit up on the center (or center-front) of the ball as intended.

The one issue that I have had is the same one mentioned by others for some reason, the locks on the wheels seem to almost set themselves. Not sure why that is, but after just a bit of use, one or more of my wheels are always locked. I''m going to try using some duct tape to keep them open as I really don''t ever need them locked.

I also noticed the ball stays inflated at a "pretty firm" inflation level for a long time. But if I put more air in it to get it firmer, it loses that super firmness in a day. So if you want a really firm inflation level, this might not be for you. For me, the "pretty firm" level is fine.

Overall, I am quite happy and very comfortable. The annoyance with the locking wheels isn''t a deal-killer, but buyers should know about it before deciding to purchase.
