ASICS Conquest Ear Guard

We bought these for my son, and he used them for the wrestling season. They were great for what he needed.

After years of cheaper sets of head gear, we finally decided to give this a try. We just receive them and I have to say, I''m impressed. I do not think they will be so easy to break or pull down etc when you have the opponents pulling on them. Since we just got them, we will see but so far so good!

Well as I was entering double overtime and I lock up this headgear fell just over my eyes and rendering me unable to see, guy takes a shot and I lose two points costing me the match. This has happened several times but didn''t fully cover my eyes all the way. Not only is this thing uncomfortable as the padding is really stiff and hurts like hell when you get slammed on you side but it simply does not stay on my head. I decided to stay with my worn out Asics Gel headgear. Much more comfortable but moves about as much as this one. However you can hear ever single thing out of this headgear. But the chin strap left me bleeding a bit after the double overtime match since it really is irritating. Now if this thing were to have softer padding and a few other changes I wouldnt mind having it but it is simply to much of a bother to be dealing with in the middle of a match so Id rather go with my trusty four year old Asics Gel. Then again, it may just be my head but another member of our team suffers the same problem with this model.
