I weigh in about 273 lbs and 68 inches tall. Im a big guy. i have always had a harder time with light ropes. I screw it up big time and when i get it right, I dont get an intense work out. Yes it helps for quickness/speed but i like a good challenge. This gopro rope does that. 1.5lbs is heavy espeacially while going fast. If you have weak wrist, dont use the handles. Instead grab the swivel or just the rope, but you miss out on the extra workout you would get by using the handles. I can basically speed rope with this, it feels natural and smooth, but when you get tired or you are repping to failure, be careful! I attempted a 8min session. I gave it my all and at 7mins 40 secs my arms gave out and the rope smacked me in the back of the head lol. It hurts. So consider safety for yourself and others around you. I also tried the dvd that came with it... Its a good program to work it. It''ll give you a decent workout if you dont have any type of rope training to use. Build is so so. Mainly the handles. They feel cheap but work. Try it out, if you dont like it return it. And for the price compared to others , its a cool deal.
One more thing, if you dont know how to jump rope dont start with this one.Don''t waste your money! The coils never come out of the rope from being in the package and the handles are such cheap floppy plastic that they don''t turn smoothly. Instead, they yank your hands around, immediately making your wrists sore. DON''T WASTE YOUR MONEY! I used to have a Gold''s Gym leather one that worked on smooth ball bearings in the handles. I will definitely be finding one of those to buy instead.
