Pearl Izumi Men''s Elite Inrcool Tri Short

Got these for Christmas for my husband who is 5''11 and 150lb. He has swum, bike, and run in them and been happy with them with all 3 sports. I ordered him a medium and they fit perfect. Great deal for these shorts!

I bought these thinking they would be just a bit nicer than my Pearl Izumi Men''s Select Tri Shorts that I have had for awhile. Overall they are really about the same. The only functional difference as far as I can tell is the Select shorts have little rubber dots on the inside bottom of the shorts to keep them from moving around while the Elite shorts have little rubber squares that aren''t as comfy.

I was looking for a Tri Short that could be used in an outdoor chlorinated pool ( most labels say to avoid chlorine). These fit the bill. They are very comfortable and correctly sized.

I do several triathlons a year and marathons! I swim 100 laps everyday for training and then either run or bike! I thought these were the most amazing shorts and worth every dollar until about 2 weeks ago when they started to fall apart. The shorts are now see thru in the front and all the ladies can see my junk! These were supposed to last but i guess no good thing is meant to last. I bought them mid November, started using them towards the end of November. Thus they lasted a little over 2 months before going see thru! When i say see thru, i mean the black material turns whiteish and looks like panty hose. I am buying another pair and will not use them as often, i will try to update in a few months. i have 3 triathlons and one Marathon within the next 3 months. Will try to update afterwards.

After having 2 pairs of the "select" version of these, I opted for this next step up, "Elite", and it was worth it. The jump in design and quality is worth paying a little extra for these. Wore these in 2 recent triathlons here in FL, under wetsuit for swim. They dry quick and are plenty comfy on bike and great on run. I like the pocket in back as well that other shorts don''t have.

One of the problems for the "select" version for me was there is a seam right down the anotomical middle of the crotch area. This seam seemed to "rub me the wrong way" on bike in a bad way after a while. These have no such seam in middle of such a sensative area. Good quality.
