Over the past ten years I''ve tried an assortment of exercise equipment and, occasionally, get impressed. My journey in becoming a fitness enthusiast began in the Marines and progressed well into the civilian life... so I consider myself well-versed in physical conditioning; from plyometrics, high intensity interval training (HIIT), functional fitness, core stability, etc.
RIP Trainer REVIEW: It is with great pleasure to say that the TRX rip trainer is one of the best tools I''ve ever used. I get an intense, varied, ''muscle-burning'' FUN workout that can be incorporated into other training regimens, or not. It is highly travel-friendly and can practically be used anywhere outside in the sun or inside a small room. I''ve spent a few weeks with the RIP trainer now, and I personally feel as though it is better than the TRX Suspension Trainer. If you are crafty you can create a wide variety of workouts with this simple tool, something I''ve felt is a tad more limited with any suspension trainer--or cables for that matter.
I did notice there are those who denigrate any training methods that incorporate sport-mimicry, but I personally feel this is unjustified. I''d say whatever kind of exercise program that gets you excited and dripping with sweat is just fine.
The only issue, though, is that after a few uses I''ve noticed that the protective nylon cover at the tail''s end is starting to tear apart. This is the area where the bulk of the strain/pull-action is received. I seem to be in the minority with this issue, but other than that this is the perfect equipment for anyone, especially those who travel a lot.
WORLD-CLASS customer service! I can''t say enough about their customer service department. It might be because they are still a relatively new company, but they go above and beyond for you! I sent in my complaint to them and had a great conversation with a well-spoken, energetic rep. who not only satisfied my complaint, but also took my feedback to heart. She also went one step further and sent me free replacement cords (2!). I came away very very happy and enthusiastic about the company''s future. Thank you :)My friend and I own a fitness boot camp and we''ve bought 9 of these for our clients to use. Yes, they''re quite expensive but they are worth every penny, trust me. We feel that adding the TRX Rip trainer to our fitness equipment has added so much more value to our program. Every time we set these out before our classes start we ALWAYS hear moaning and groaning from our clients because working out with these is quite taxing.
Please do not listen to the profound ignorance of the negative reviews. Believe me when I say that even if the medium resistance band couldn''t be removed it really doesn''t matter. There are so many hand positions and angles to workout from that I can''t understand how someone couldn''t give themselves a challenging workout with this product. If you want more of a challenge move your outside hand farther away from the band, step farther away from the attachment point or change the angle of the movement.
We have almost 100 clients that would tell you just how difficult a workout with the TRX Rip trainer can be. Today our clients did a one-sided chest press with the TRX Rip trainer using quick, explosive movements and they found it to be VERY difficult indeed.
I wish I could train Dave W''s clients for him because I 100% GUARANTEE that I would give his clients the workout of their lives with only the medium resistance band on this TRX Rip Trainer. The 2 people who give this product negative reviews are truly ignorant about how to effectively use the product, that is a fact.I have been reluctant to write this review, because I like the TRX Suspension Training System and was happy with their customer service. However, my experience with the Rip Trainer has been very different. The resistance cord is supposed to be easy to remove, but the eye bolt on my Rip Trainver is so small that the cord cannot be removed unless it is cut off. My clients and I have also found that the standard medium resistance cord does not provide enough resistance for most exercises. I bought 2 heavier replacement cords, but I cannot attach them to the trainer because of the eye bolt issue. I contacted TRX customer service twice via email and have not received a response.
I have found that the Gray Cook cable bar is a perfect alternative to the Rip Trainer. It has a good grip and eye bolts that are large enough to easily swap resistance cords. I recommend that anyone who is interested in this product buy the cable bar instead and only buy the resistance cords from TRX. Videos on YouTube will replace any information you will lose from not having the video and training guide that come with the Rip Trainer.I love the TRX Rip trainer and this one got here fast and made it in time for my next workoutEcxcelent to use with anyone. You can adapt workouts for differents levels doing dynamic movements using too with profesional sportman.
