Lifecore R88 Rowing Machine
Using the Rower: This machine is very easy to use. The first two days I limited my moderately paced workouts to 20 minutes on resistance setting #2. (Note: Most product descriptions -including Amazon''s -state that the R88 has 8 resistance settings but this model only has 6 resistance settings, which is clearly specified on the shipping box and manual.) After two days I felt a pleasant soreness throughout my body (legs, abdomen, arms, chest, shoulders, back, and butt), which told me that this machine really delivers. Using this machine provides a more intense cardio workout than the recumbent bike.
Pros: The R88 rower is simple, solid, compact, very well constructed, easy to operate, and smooth. I''d compare the build quality and operation to that of driving a base model Mercedes Benz with a manual transmission. The rower''s resistance settings (changed easily by turning a dial) will accomodate almost everybody''s fitness level. The seat bottom is firmer than that of the RB 900 bike, which is too soft. The unit folds up and can be rolled into a relatively small storage space.
Cons: These are minor but worth mentioning. First, the monitor is not as well illuminated as shown by the company''s advertising pictures. To clearly see all display info, a light (overhead or behind your shoulder) is recommended during workouts. Second, when folded for storage, the machine''s wheels do not roll very easily on carpet. Third, while the flywheel fan provides a welcome breeze and cooling effect, the fan is pretty noisy especially under hard rowing.
Conclusion: Investing $699 for this quality rowing machine was a no brainer. The R88 is fun to use and provides an outstanding, impact free, total body workout. My arthritic knee is painfree afterwards. The extra features offered by the R99 rower($200 more)seem like a waste of money. NOTE: I will update my review of Lifecore Fitness'' R88 Rowing Machine in a few months. G Miller -Phx. AZ
January 2012 Update: Sorry for taking so long to update my review of this rower. I am still very satisfied with the R88 machine and it continues to function flawlessly. Since I purchased the rower, I have tried out other machines both more and less expensive. For the money, especially at the new lower price, I can''t see how this one can be beat. The only additional con that I can add is that the monitor goes through alkaline batteries much faster than I would like.Pros, really get a good heart pumping workout. It is small and stores very well.
Cons, it is noisy. I don''t notice it as bad when I am using it, but when someone else is using it in our house it is loud. I do not like the manual tension dial, wished it was automatic.
Over all it is a good machine, just not sure about the price. Wished it had been a little cheaper.

This is a decent rower. If it cost $400, it wouldn''t be an issue. However, the seat is high, relative to the foot pedals, so you end up working your arms and back much more then legs. I was used to a Concept2 at the gym and did not feel like this was in the same league. I returned it and bought a Concept2 for $200 more and couldn''t be happier. There is a reason Concept2 owns the space.Read Best Reviews of Lifecore R88 Rowing Machine Here
The R88 is the best choice for rowers under $1,000. The combination of air and magnetic resistance is a great design. There are six resistance selections on the R88, not eight as described. The first and lowest selection is air resistance only, and the air coming through the vent will keep you cool. The display could be updated as the background screen is a dull gray. Initially, my rower wasn''t counting the strokes or distance (you can set it to count the strokes down from a set number or count up). I called Lifecore tech support and they said the sensors (there are two) near the fan wheel probably got loose during shipping. They suggest I pop the outer shell loose to check the sensor, and I did. The wires and sensor seemed secure but whatever I did made it work. The only critique I have is about the way the foot pads are mounted; I wished the foot pads would be almost level with the frame instead of lower. You are more in a sitting position than a laying position when in the "recovery" position or the stretched-out position. I guess the angle simulates the position in a real row boat. Also, I had to put some thread lock on the acorn nuts that hold the plastic foot pads on the metal rod they pivot on, as the right side kept getting loose from the pivoting of the foot pad. I think a C-clip would work better. The frame and seat (firmly cushioned) are nice and wide and will support any size body. The handle is permanently fixed to the flat strap that spins the fan; I wish there were optional accessory handles that allow a wide grip or a narrow vertical grip handle to work different back muscle groups. Overall, I am glad I purchased this rower because it is nice and solid and will add variety to your workout. I like to mix this in between running and cycling; diversity in a fitness program is very important, and the R88 provides that element.Want Lifecore R88 Rowing Machine Discount?
Background:I live in the north of Saskatchewan. There are no gyms here, and very little to do in town to keep fit. My job requires me to walk 10 ft to my car everyday, and the rest of my working day requires a lot of sitting down and very little physical activity. There''s not much healthy eating here, either. Fresh fruits and vegetables are extortionate, so I live off a lot of junk food. I''ve been living here for a year, and I''ve put on about 10kg and to my horror am developing quite the gut (lovely, I know). I''m not keen on running, and I tend to develop shin-splints quite easily. The roads around here are unmade and prone to twisted ankles. Lots of dangerous wildlife (and drivers) around too. So yes, I really need an indoor activity to keep me fit. I tried rollerblading around my basement, but it got tedious after a few dizzy laps. Plus it''s dark and cold down there, and very dusty. I tried doing ''runs'' up and down my stairs, but that too got boring (and quickly tiring too, for my poor untrained, unfit knees!). I tried P90X (the Plyometrics, I thought, would be a great cardio work-out, with very little equipment necessary), but I just didn''t have the discipline to do it day in day out. So fatter and unfitter I got.
And then I bought this rower...
I didn''t expect much of it, to be honest. I had budgeted to spend $1,000 on a piece of cardio equipment for my house, and in the end spent just $495 on this rower (including P&P from California to northern SK!) on eBay. Bargain. But, I worried it would show for the ''cheapness'' and not be too impressive. Oh, how I was wrong!
The rower is heavy (not too heavy; I still managed to carry it in to my truck and then on in to my house on my own), and feels very sturdy. I was a little miffed at first when I thought I was missing the nuts/bolts/washers, but then realized they were already screwed in to the pieces and I just had to unscrew them and attach the parts together. At first I thought this was a set-back, but I realized it''s actually a bonus, cos then I knew exactly where each bolt etc went, instead of having to work it out. Saved a few seconds/minutes perhaps on assembly time..!
I got the entire rower assembled in a little over half an hour. Not bad.
The rower doesn''t take up much space on my floor at all, and it''s easily rolled in to a corner when not in use, due to the two ''stabilizer'' wheels on the end. The seat glides smoothly, and there is an impressive amount of tension in the pulling mechanism. It''s wonderful actually; the main reason I bought a rower was because I wanted to get some calorie-burning heart-healthy cardio exercise whilst also getting some resistance training for my arms. This is perfect.
What I also like is the built-in fan that actually works rather well, and definitely helps keep me cool. I''ve positioned the rower beside a window for additional cooling effect.
Haven''t really tried the computer out yet (I just like to aimlessly row while I watch tv) but it looks decent so far and appears to meet my needs (measures time and distance etc).
I''m 175cm tall, weigh about 80kg (ouch! was 68kg a year ago..!), and the rower is perfect for my height and weight. It doesn''t wobble or tip at all, even when I have the resistance on full and am really exerting myself. Like I say, it appears to be very sturdy and it''s great construction. I can see this rower lasting a number of years, and I''m really excited to start seeing some results as I''m sure this equipment will help get me well on my way to being trim and fit again! (I''m visiting friends and family in a couple of months, so hopefully the results will come quick!)
If my experience with this rower changes, I will post another review. But for the time-being I would rate this rower with 5/5 stars, and would wholeheartedly recommend it. I see no fault with it yet, and it by far exceeds all my expectations. $495 well spent...!!
TRX Suspension Training Pro Pack Basic
Notice I gave this product Four Stars. I stand by it, even though the following review may seem to be geared toward another product.
So, I''ve owned the TRX force kit for about five years, XFit Rings for about three years, and the Jungle Gym XT for about a month now, and I have to say the Jungle Gym XT is the Best Over-all product, in almost all categories. Here''s the preferential order I would put the three products: First place: Jungle Gym XT, Second Place: XFit Rings, and Third Place: TRX. And I''m rating them REGARDLESS OF PRICE!!!!
I''m not trying to pick on any specific product. I''m giving my best over-all objective opinion based on my expertise (I am a personal trainer at an exclusive high level gym). To be fair to all manufacturers, I still use ALL three of the products. My intention with this review is to educate consumers so you can make an objective decision.
I''ll just limit my review to the cons because I don''t want to continue the redundancy of talking about what these products can do.
First: Hygiene! the TRX falls short especially if you are sharing the product with others. The Jungle Gym handles and foot cradles are made of TPE (thermoplastic elastomer, which is a sturdy plastic with a rubber-like feel), and the XFit rings are olympic styled rings (lowest level is a very sturdy, almost invincible, hard plastic). Which both are easy to clean. The TRX, on the other hand, has a foam-like material over the handles, and the foot cradles over the nylon webbing. Which you can''t clean unless you want to speed up the deterioration process. So, little microbes can fester on the handles and foot cradles. So if you share it with others, have an anti-bacterial gel nearby.
Next: Durability! I''ve had the TRX the longest, So it''s been worked over!!! the main components of the straps are still well in tact. But!!! the foam on the handles have worn down, and are splitting. I''ve called FitnessAnywhere to find a solution, and they mailed me (for free), TAPE!!! Yes, TAPE!!! does it work? Yes. for how long? I don''t know. Definitely not a long term solution though. There only other offer was another older model force kit for a discounted price (ten dollars less than the newest model). The Rings are solid and I know they will maintain its over-all integrity for many years to come. For the Jungle Gym, I''m familiar with many gym products and seeing the design and quality of the materials, there is premium quality, long lasting materials. You can tell it''s the best made even if you compare all the products side by side if they were all new.
NEXT: Comfort. TRX, even with the foam handles, are last place. why??? the adjustable METAL buckle is designed to sit at a right angle to the handles. which means LOTS of snagging when doing pushing exercises. When I had the TRX the first two years, I would constantly have scratch marks on my arms, shoulders, and neck because of the metal buckle snagging me during use. Actually, an under armour long sleeve shirt (or similar) will go a long way. With the rings, the metal buckle can be adjusted to be away from your range of movement. The Jungle Gym, The adjustable buckle contraptions are modeled like the TRX except that it is made of a very durable hard plastic, contoured and rounded so there are no uncomfortable edges, and they lay flush (not at a right angle) to the handles. So... NO SNAGGING!!!
NEXT: Variations! you can do ALOT with any of the suspension trainers. But the TRX has the most limitations solely on the fact that both straps come to one point. So there is VERY LIMITED abduction exercises. and if you do try abduction... be ready for snagging. Not an issue with the other products. You''ll be surprised how much MORE VARiATION there is simply by having each handle individually anchored, and able to control how wide each anchor point is. The Xfit rings don''t have designed foot cradles, but if you are at an intermediate fitness level, you can stand your feet on the rings, and do all the foot cradle exercises comfortably. The jungle gym''s foot cradles are by far the easiest to get in and out of, and the most comfortable.
LASTLY: Portability! Finally, the TRX wins in this category. One, it comes with a mesh drawstring bag. If you want one so badly, spend five dollars and get one for the other products. Also, the TRX packs the smallest. Actually, I have the first model Force kit, and it packs about a third of the size of all the current TRX models and is slightly lighter. I actually HATE that the newer TRX models are bulkier than they used to be. All the models have the bulkier (less expensive), nylon webbing. Don''t be fooled if someone will try to lie to you and say it''s better quality. it''s not. I actually have the older, BETTER product. They''re saving money!!! Even though they other products (XFit Rings, and Jungle Gym XT) don''t pack as small, they are still VERY PORTABLE.
Because I have all the products, I have the advantage of doing total body suspension exercises. I can mix either of the products to achieve that. For my personal use, I''d use the Jungle Gym XT for my feet, and the rings for my hands (which coincidently, is the best buy), or you can get two Jungle Gyms, or Two TRX''s. I''d recommend to getting two jungle gyms though.
This review is meant to educate consumers so you''re not dazzled by the marketing, and you can buy confidently because you have as much objective information.
All the best on your fitness journey!!!Just received my TRX. The one thing that tripped me up is the description of "bonus in box" workouts. I thought I was getting two more DVD''s which helped me to justify the $60 increase in price over the original model. Alas, bonus in box means you cut two workouts off the cardboard box to read. They are not DVD''s.

A good workout and innovative idea. However, This is definitely not the best form of suspension training available. It is somewhat restrictive when you compare it to the Lifeline Jungle Gym XT or Elite Freestyle Trainer, USA, Vegas Straps. With a split design, you have freedom that TRX cannot give you. You can do all the exercises plus a lot more. You can vary your width of the grips, which you cannot do with a TRX. This allows you to do dips, hanging knee raises, pull-ups, etc., that cannot be done on a TRX. All which provide you with a more challenging workout than the traditional forms and more freedom as well. These are a heck of a lot cheaper options, not to mention that you can make your own.Read Best Reviews of TRX Suspension Training Pro Pack Basic Here

Okay, it seems very well made, but its just straps and handles! I''m glad I got it and like using it. I''d recommend it but when you realize that you paid all that for just...okay, I won''t say it again! The carrying bag it comes with is a little too small to conveniently get the TRX into. It can be done, but it wouldn''t have hurt to make it a little bigger.
Lifeline USA Power Push-Up with DVD
In the case of Lifeline''s Power Pushup, the product had a very promising proposition = eliminate the need for a bench/barbell/weights, and replace it all with the Power Pushups! As I wanted to transition to working out 100% at home, this product sounded like a perfect fit for my home gym, since it eliminated the need to purchase bulky equipment. It all sounded too good to be true, and indeed to my dismay, after using it for a solid 2-3 months, I have finally decided to ditch the Power Pushups altogether.
There are a few negatives I would like to cover:
*(1) The Power Pushups doesn''t work the chest in an effective manner. Why? Well, if you can imagine a regular bench press... as you are pressing upwards, the weight is always constant. When your arms are at a right angle with your body, the amount of resistance is the exact same as if your arms were fully extended. This provides full resistance throughout the ENTIRE "pressing" motion.
On the other hand, with the Power Pushups, even though the bands provide full resistance when your arms are fully extended, as soon as you lower your chest to the ground, the resistance drops dramatically to nearly zero. This proves to be a major problem if your goal is to work out your chest. Because as any bodybuilder knows, the most effective "zone" to work out your chest is when your arms are approaching a right angle with your chest -your chest is fully stretched in this position, and if the bands don''t provide extra resistance in this zone, then you are essentially just doing a regular pushup. It doesn''t matter that the Power Pushups provide full resistance when your arms are fully extended because that only works out your triceps -not your chest. In summary, the Power Pushups does not provide constant resistance throughout the full range of the pressing motion, and therefore does not give your chest the proper resistance that it needs.
*(2) Secondly, after a week or two of usage, the bands became considerably "looser" and more elastic. It was plenty obvious that the rubber did not provide the same resistance that it had straight out of the box.
*(3) It may just be a specific problem with me, but after using the Power Pushups for awhile, my shoulder developed slight pain, almost as if my rotator cuffs were being affected. I tried different hand positions (forward/back/closer/wider), and different band positions (higher back, lower back), but the problem still continued. I never had this problem with regular bench presses/pushups, so I''m assuming the Power Pushups were stretching my body in ways that it wasn''t supposed to.
So, some of you are wondering at this point: "how do I work out my chest at home?" If you already hit a plateau in your chest growth and have gotten used to doing regular pushups, then here is my suggestion to you: Grab any backpack, and fill it with bottles of water, a bag of rice/flour, or anything that''s heavy enough to provide resistance. Then wear it on your back and do pushups as you would regularly. Here''s a rough guideline to know if the backpack is "heavy enough": If you can''t do 10 reps, then the weight is too heavy. If you can do more than 10 reps, then the weight is too light. This backpack solution seems simple, but works well because wearing a weighted backpack provides resistance throughout the entire range of motion to your chest, just like how a bench press would.
Good luck, and I hope this review helped you make a more informed decision.Hey y''all, just wanted to give a little heads up on the power pushup. Awesome product number one. Lifeline USA is really puts out great, quality products. I would have to say that the bands will last for a while, and the equipment has so multi-facet. I say this because you''re getting two lifeline products for the price of one! Well, I made the mistake of buying this product and chest expander. Not mistake as in they aren''t get pieces of equipment. No! What I mean is that the handles that come with the power pushup are exactly the same as the chest expander. Therefore, all you have to do is buy some of the tubes off the lifeline website (for the chest expander) and you got that as well. I think they''re both awesome! buy getting the resistance bands is cheaper. Cool. I''m out

This is good for added resistance for push-ups but the progression to additional bands (the ones included) is quite steep. You might have to buy bands with different resistance in order to progress in lesser increments.Read Best Reviews of Lifeline USA Power Push-Up with DVD Here
as a 180 lb male in his 30''s that usually bench presses with weights between 200 and 250 lbsthis has been an effective substitute for bench press for me.
I have been looking for a way to avoid the gym and get a decent workout at home and in a safe manner in the morning before work.
With a combination of these power pushups, the lifeline cables with triple grip handles, a set of heavy dumbells, the product known as "the rack", and the product known as "the iron gym" I have managed to get a pretty decent workout at home that hits all muscle groups. For legs, I concentrate on doing one legged calf raises and one legged squats.
It can be done you can get a decent workout at home in your basement even if you dont have a lot of room for equipment.Yes I was expecting a good fast work-out.What I got was good clean power push ups every time. One thing you get used to is those darn push-ups and the amount of time you have to spend doing them. Well the power push up cuts down on the amount of time and gives increased results. That is right in the shoulder blades and chest right where it counts!

I learned about this device at a Chiropractor visit. He had three of the devices, and encouraged those waiting "adjustments" to stretch. (He did provide initial training guidance on it!) He recommended (to me) that I strongly consider purchase of this device, especially as I am a cyclist, and riding a road bike for extended periods does cause some body stresses. So, I bought one! Assembly was simple. (I had my son assemble it!) I use the device EVERYDAY. I am confident that it has been excellent for me, especially in the back, hip, and glutes stretches, all of which suffer in varying degrees when I ride. The price of the device is steep, but actually is half the cost of similar devices I have seen in gyms, YMCAs, etc.Read Best Reviews of LifeSpan Fitness SP1000 Stretch Partner Stretching Machine Here

After reading other reviews about this piece of equipment, I expected it to be more like the Precore I have used at the gym in the past. This is a nice piece of equipment, but I was surprised to find that the front piece moves. It is not bad, it is just different. Also, I read that it might not fit a tall personmy boyfriend is 6''6" and he uses it just fine.JFit Premium Vinyl Kettlebell 8, 10, 12 and 15 lb. Set
The vendor Green Lifestyle is awesome. Fast shipping are very reasonably priced. I have ordered one more set for my sister and will suggest these kettlebells to other friends and family members.I have not purchased this set of kettlebells yet, but have done the next best thing...I borrowed a set from a relative and have been using them for a bit over one month now. I must say that after actually using them and due to the fact that I really need to return them one of these days, I plan to purchase my own set right after the holidays.
This particular set which includes 8, 10, 12, and 15 pound weights was and is absolutely perfect for my needs. I am not now, nor have I ever been into the body building thing, ergo I do not need large amounts of weight. I use these strictly for toning and cardiopulmonary exercises and weight control/loss. For that they are ideal in my case.
Using these weights is a bit different that using free weights or machine weights. The exercises are much different with more swinging and flexing that you would normally expect. I would strongly suggest one of the many fine video or CDs available which feature full workouts. I admit that I did not use a video, working mostly from trial and error and advice from those who have used them. I could probably have saved myself some aches and pains and could have started with a more effective workout.
Like another reviewer here, I found that the handles of these weights are quite smooth which cut down on friction blisters. They also fit my hands perfectly. The vinyl coating does indeed cut down on the noise. Do take heed though of the warning that these are for indoor use only. They would not do well out in the wet.
Now as to the calorie burn. Proponents of these weights and sellers make claim to a 40 to 60 percent increase in your ability to burn calories when these weights are being used. Being a skeptic by nature I cannot truthfully state that this is true. I do know that after use my body feels like it has been put though much more by using these weights rather than traditional. It only makes sense that they would increase the bodies capability of using up calories...it is just that I do not know for sure how many and at what rate. I do know that after using these for approximately 30 days, three times a week, I shed 15 pounds of excess fat. I suppose that is an endorsement of sorts as I certainly did not change my eating habits during that time period.
Each person must choose their own direction with any product of this sort. By that I mean what weights to start with, to continue with and which are more effective. The same holds true with the particular exercise regimen you decide upon. No one knows your body like you do and these decisions, among others, have to be made by only you.
Please do take note here. For the older individual, of whom I am one, you must realize that there is much more joint rotation with these things than traditional weights. If you have problems with arthritis or other joint related chronic illnesses you might want to consider this. I personally have a touch of arthritis and am prone to bursitis in my shoulder joints. You need to tread lightly and find what your limitations are. Hey, we cannot all stay 18 years old all of our lives even though we may mentally feel that way. As Dirty Harry I think once said "A man (or woman) has to know their limitations."
Overall these are nice and useful weights. The price here is quite reasonable even with shipping.

If any problems occur in the future, I''ll let you know. Hopefully not tho. This bike came in as a gift from my daughter, the delivery is fast, the assembly is easy by following manual instruction; most of all, the bike is not just looking great, it is so quiet and sturdy. I just love it! This bike has now established me a routine workout habit, I watch TV and paddle the machine for 30 each day, with speed at my discretion. There are many measurement indexes to help me understand my body needs, build up my target heart rate, and motivate myself to meet my exercise tolerance. I would definitely recommend this bike to my friends!!

This bike is well built and sturdy, quiet and easy to put together. Theseat is comfortable and has lots of cushion. I am 5ft tall and I can reach
the pedals just right, if I were any shorter I would not be able to reach them.
When tightening the screws by the handle bars dont over tighten or the plastic will
crack.
I am pretty satisfied with this bike and think its a great deal for the price
and is not cheap and flimsy compared to other bikes of this price range.
One pedal makes a clicking noise as it goes around now but its no big deal and does not interfere with using it, just turn on the radio or TV and you wont notice.

I too had a few problems, when I first received mine. However when I called the company and spoke to Jeff who took on the responsibility of making everything wrong,to making everything right. He immediately sent me a new bike and paid the shipping as well and UPS picked it up. The first thing you need to know, is this company really cares, and have given lots of time to help straighten and resolve the issues I have had with this bike.Issue 1 Tension didn''t work.. Issue corrected....new bike sent.
Issue 2 On board computer didn''t work properly. Problem corrected... New magnet sent.
Now that everything is working, this is my review.
This bike is Rock Solid, lots of heavy metal and very little plastic.
The bike is very smooth to pedal, and the variable 8 speeds should challenge most people for years to come.
This bike gives me total adjustment of both the seat, and the handlebar. The seat adjusts both in height , and in back to front so a person under 5 foot to a person over 6 feet tall will have no problem in this area. The handle bars are also fully adjustable as well which means you can lean as far forward as you choose as well as sitting straight up as well. By allowing you to do this, you work many areas of your body then any other bike even twice or more expensive then my PHEONEX.The seat by the was is very large, and very comfortable as well.Another feature is that it is DEAD QUIET with not a hint of noise and I love that you can change the gears without any difficulty. The on board computer has all the bells and whistles that I want and then some. Another feature of the on board computer is that you can program in your individual history re weight height age etc.
And to top it off, this bike looks great as well.
Over all the PHEONEX #99607 IS ONE HELL OF AN INVESTMENT,which in my opinion, has no competition. The resistance control cable did not work in the bike I received. The factory installed end of the cable was not attached inside the bike body. The cable attachment seemed to be prone to coming undone. It was easier to disaseemble the bike body, attach the loose end of the cable inside the bike body and reassenbke the body than to ship the bike back.

I have started to use this with Cathe Friedrich''s weight workouts (an advanced level so preview clips before purchasethese are much more advanced than the DVDs that come with the 360). Because of knee issues and prior surgeries I am unable to do tall step climbs/Leg presses anymore. Yet I still need and want to work the "thutt" areathat place where the butt and thigh meet. I also want to work my stabilizers and strengthen them as I am an avid walker and I want to now get involved with 5 and 10ks. This piece of equipment is allowing me to train the lower body in the way I want. I also lose how I connect a band to the platform for added resistance if I don''t want to use dumbbells. If you want less wobble inflate it to the max safety point. If you want more challenge, let some of the air out. It''s as simple as that. The platform as had a foam pad on top which helps keep you from slipping. I don''t sit on the platform for upper body work, I still prefer my bosu and stability balls for that; it''s more comfortable and I can get the angles I need a lot easier.
The cons IMO are:
1. The DVDs. I have the Deluxe upgrade DVDs from it was first released via informercial in 2010. I do not like Jesse, the male instructor; he gets on my last nerve so much so that I''ve only used 2 of the workouts. The workouts are short (a pro in my book) but there are an''t many workouts included in the set without the upgrade which is no longer available.
2. The air chambers leak. Not badly, but every couple of weeks (I use this 1-2x per week) I need to add a little air as it gets too low for my liking. Letting some air out adds to the challenge but if too much air escapes then the challenge goes away completely.
Is it worth the money? That depends on what you will use it for and how often. I didn''t use this for about 18 months and would have said it''s a waste of $$$. But now that I use it, my bosu rarely gets touched. I also like it a lot more than a high step for 1 legged work and step ups. If you are looking to purchase it for that New Year''s Resolution then I would pass. It''s quite bulky and heavy and takes up a lot of space both inflated and deflated. The DVDs IMO are not worth the money and I wouldn''t recommend them to anyone but beginners. Major boredom factor with them. This is a versatile piece of equipment. It''s not as unstable as a Bosu ball but adds a nice cushion for steps and jumps that a standard step doesn''t provide, which is better for joints. You can use it for variations of squats and lunges as well as other exercises for different body parts. I also like the resistance cord catches/locks. I quite frankly don''t think that it adds much of a balance challenge, unlike some reviewers here. And I do consider myself to be balance-challenged. For me the benefit is that it''s a piece of equipment that I can use to do steps and jumps all barefoot in my home. My complaint is that it is a bit bulky and I don''t like the workout DVD that comes with it. I bought this as a christmas gift for myself and I have to say, after a few trials, I love it. The DVD that comes with has a great variety of workouts and the workouts are intense. When I first started using it, I was a little scared of falling off and it slipped a bit on my wood floors. However, placing the whole thing on a yoga mat cleared that problem up. My only problem with the step360 is that it never seems to be as inflated as it is on the videos that making for a bit of an adjustment every time you use it.

Around the console issues mentioned: I''m 6''4", and I can see and interact with the console easily from any motion I make on the trainer. My guess is that they evolved the console a bit, and that the new model has a better viewing angle-this isn''t even remotely an issue now. (I bought mine in summer 2010).
Also note that one user mentions that the programs don''t allow you to change the intensity and the stride length during a workout without doing it manually. Actually, the custom programs (up to 5) allow you to do just that. My guess is that this may be related to the old console -or, more probably, the user didn''t read the manual. The custom programs allow for both variations in intensity and motion from minute to minute. I just got finished setting up a hill-climbing program that increases intensity and shortens range of motion "up" the hill, and then lengthens the stride coming back down. Very cool.
What you''ll also notice is that no-one doesn''t like the "feel" and durability of the elliptical. It''s a solid, well-made piece of equipment, and it''s a joy to workout on. (Well, as much as working out is ever a joy.) The motion is smooth, and I''m able to use it without any pain, even after a hard day of officiating soccer the day before (trust me, chase high school soccer players for 80 minutes a few times a day -your knees will probably hurt!). The dynamic range of motion works well for my entire family-my wife (5''3"), my older daughter (5''7") and I all love to use the machine.
The IPOD speakers are definitely tinny, but not bad for a piece of exercise equipment. I do wish it had a drink holder.
Assembly is pretty involved -I build computers in my spare time, and I''ve assembled more machines than I can count, and it still took me 2+ hours to put this together. Note, it''s not a light piece of equipment...if having it delivered upstairs or downstairs, I''d pay for the "in room" delivery. It''s not too bad to move after it''s assembled and you can tilt it up and roll it, but it''s not light by any means.
Net, if you''re looking for a really firm elliptical that should last for a long time and has great motion, this fits that bill nicely. Length:: 0:53 Mins
The video says everything.
This equipment starts getting rust from day one. Tired of wiping and taping the joints from the rust. I leave it to show on the video. Sucha noisy and cheap feel machine. Grinding/squeeking noise makes it feels like a $199 elliptical. Both of my smooth fitness (treadmill 9.45 ST and this DMTx2) are big time disappointment. Nothing but noise maker and traoublemaker.
I bought the DMTx2 even though the treadmill experience is not smooth because their service attitude was good. Now they don''t even have the service or warranty left!!! Good luck if you bet on this company, I was a sucker spent $3600 on this brand name.

I bought my Smooth Agile DMT X2 Elliptical machine in January, 2010 and I have been very disappointed with the quality, given the price that I paid ($2,000).As with other reviewers, I found the display to be virtually unreadable. I am 5 ft. 10 ins. and the only way I could read the display was by stooping down. It is remarkable that Smooth Fitness would ship this product with such a serious design flaw.
The iPod docking station is worthless because the quality of the speakers is extremely poor. I used it once to test it and I have never used it since. This feature seems to be nothing more than a gimmick, designed primarily to persuade you to buy.
Despite all of the above, the exercise part of the machine itself worked fine for the first six months. However, a few days ago, the electrics on the display panel started going haywire. The settings started to change mid-exercise without me touching them, as if they had a mind of their own, e.g. the level of intensity and angle of motion would start falling for no apparent reason. After a few days of this, the settings stopped being visible completely. The display panel is now just a garbled mass of light and the settings are unreadble.
In fairness to Smooth Fitness, they sent me a new replacement consul immediately.
If I had to do it again, I would not buy this machine.

I have had this ellliptical for about 10 days now. Assembly was not difficult and took about 1.5 hours. I am pleased with the quality of the materials used, and everything seems to work fine. Unfortunately, the nice color LCD display cannot cannot be read when you are on the machine. When you try to look at the display while using the trainer, you cannot read any of blue text (heart rate, calories, distance, etc.) or the yellow text (countdown timer) because the viewing angle is wrong. The text can only be read when viewed at an angle of between 30-60 degrees. When looking at the display from a 90 degree angle, all you can see are 88:88. I contacted Smooth Fitness customer service, but they have no solution. You would need to be less than 4 ft. tall to read the display in its mounted position. I find it unbelievable that they did not see this coming and design a monitor that could pivot.Want Smooth Fitness Agile DMT-X2 Elliptical Trainer Discount?
I have had this elliptical for 3 months and it still isn''t fixed. I can''t get Smooth Fitness to do anything to get it fixed. I have had to pester them to get the repairman to come and try and fix it. Smooth Fitness tech support doesn''t even have a wiring diagram for repair purposes. It sounds like a business in trouble. Probably run out of someones basement with a warehouse in Tiawan. I am still waiting for them to respond back to me from 10 days ago.AVIA Men''s A104M Fitness Shoe
That being said, I have very wide feet, so I ordered these wide, but they''re still just a little cramped. If your feet are no wider than most, it''s a nonissue for you, but if you have very wide feet, consider ordering a half-size larger than you otherwise would.Great shoes for the price. Better than getting shoes at the local store just make sure you know the size you need.

Avia''s budget sneakers used to be a good buy: they were leather and the uppers lasted a long time. I bought them for years. Now, unfortunately, they use a lot of vinyl ("synthetics") and far less leather. I had a couple of recent pairs of their sneakers that cracked along the instep of the upper, showing it to be vinyl. I took that as disappointing, but overall, they held up pretty well. However, the uppers on my last pair completely separated from the soles (on each shoe) so soon that the soles had no wear on them at all. That is just plain shoddy. I found their customer service to be truly unresponsive. I hope you have better experiences, but I do not think you can have confidence in them.Read Best Reviews of AVIA Men''s A104M Fitness Shoe Here
Wears well (about 2 months now) and was easy to break-in the leather uppers. So far my feet were not cramped or squeezed. Feels comfortable with Levis and Calvin Kliens. I use them for shopping and casual get togethers with friends or family but nothing too physical or too sporting. I have saddle soap cream and hope to keep the leather soft and maintain its look.Want AVIA Men''s A104M Fitness Shoe Discount?
I don''t know if these are knock offs or whether avia has lowered its standards but I bought these sneakers before and they lasted over a year of heavy use. The soles on the ones i bought form this seller eroded like the were made out of paper mache. My old worn down sneakers that these were supposed to replace are now in better shape than this pair. and I just bought them
Livestrong® LS8.0E Elliptical
First off, I had narrowed it down to this or the Sole brand. There were a few other brands I was interested in, but I immediately ruled out anything I didn''t have hands on access to and went to two different stores to compare the Sole and Livestrong just in case one was wasn''t noticeably defective. Now between this and the Sole e25, the Sole is a nice looking machine, the display is prettier and actually shows graphics for your workout and more display options. The reason I ruled it out was the resistance. The e25 has 20 resistance levels compared to the 8.0e''s 16, yet the e25 at 20 was easier than the 8.0 at 8. Like I said, I compared the units side by side at two different stores and even the more expensive models, the resistance on the Sole''s are weak and I would too easily max it out and be wanting for more. Now comparing the different Livestrong models. My price range was under $1k so I was closely considering the 10.0e. The only real differences I noticed was that the 10.0 has the motorized incline as opposed to the manual, the pedals have a rubber padding, it has the USB drive for updating the firmware and using the workout tracking and such, there is a few more display options and 3 more programmed workouts and 20 resistance levels instead of 16. For me those are all non-issues and didnt justify the price difference, the function is exactly the same. The 13.0 has some nice features, but was more than I wanted to spend.
Onto the positives. This machine is pretty easy to assemble. From setting it down downstairs and carrying it up piece by piece to the upstairs bedroom, to taking out the last piece of trash, it took me right at an hour and a half. The instructions are good, and the parts are laid out in an organized manner.
The machine is solid, I''ve only used it a few times, but maxxed it out at 11.8 mph, no rocking, squeeks, or other noises that there shouldn''t be. Only the whirring of the flywheel, which isnt even as loud as the fan on max. Speaking of which, the fan is decent, I only use it during the cooldown though and it felt pretty good.
There is a spot to place a book, ipad, or whatever you want and there is a pocket for an mp3 player. It looks like it might be an ipod dock, but it is just a holder, they include an aux cable to go from your mp3 layer to the sound input though. The speakers are decent. I only tested it for a few minutes though, it''s in the bedroom and I just put the TV on. There is also a headphone jack that I find pointless. Anything you can plug an aux cable into will take a set of headphones so why use the elliptical as a middle man for your sound.
As far as the negatives, the only ones I really have deal with the display and electronics and none of them are really an issue to me. The display is pretty basic, there are three different LCD displays. One displays Time or Calories, the middle one shows Speed or Watts, the right one shows Distance or Heart Rate. Time, theres no way to mess that up. Calories, not sure how accurate it is but seems low. Would be more accurate if you could put in age and weight. The elliptical I use at the gym, it shows around 200 calories after 12 minutes, thise one was just shy of 200 at 20 minutes. I don''t really go by Watts or a precise speed but if you do, this isnt the machine you want. The speed goes in increments of .5 or .6, for instance I usually go around 7mph, in that range this goes from 6.3 to 6.9 to 7.5. So if you want to hit and stay at a steady pace, this doesnt work very well. As for the distance and Heart Rate. The distance seems close, if maybe a little high. I usually do an 8 minute mile and this had me at around a 7 minute mile. Lastly the heart rate monitor. If you plan on using your arms on the handles, the H/R sensors are almost useless. It defaults to 70 BPM and resets to that if you hands are off the sensors for 4 seconds. Add that to the fact that it takes 1-2 minutes for it to acquire your heart rate, slowly climbing from 70 every time and it''s pretty much useless unless you hold the sensors the whole time. I havent read all the instructions yet so I don''t know if theres a way to recalibrate it or anything, it doesnt really matter to me though. As long as the time and the resistance works, my body tells me how I''m doing and I don''t pay much attention to the rest. Some people are different, my wife needs to be told exactly what and how she''s doing so she doesnt like that aspect of it. A non issue for me and not a deal breaker for her.
Bottom line is, this is a pretty well built and solid machine. It does everything I need it to do for a good price. Another thing of note, the warranty is non transferrable which is something to consider if your considering looking on Craigslist or someplace. It has to be registered within 30 days or purchase and proof of purchase has to be kept for warranty concerns.

I have owned several machines. This one is by far the best. Assembly was easy. Took about an hour, but when assembling you realize this is a sturdy machine. Using it the first few times it showed ot me the most important aspect: a solid machine, well built and seemingly to last a long time. Several different programs and resistance levels. You can do manual incline which is no problem, you just hop off and increase incline and get back on. No longer than taking a water break. Nice touch having the aux input and holder for an MP3 player. Speakers are adequate, but who really cares as you could just wear your headphones. Calorie counter, heart rate monitor are all adequate, but you can wear the machine out for quite a while and only burn 200 calories. But all that considered, it is very smooth. Easy to use and quiet. Great machine.Read Best Reviews of Livestrong® LS8.0E Elliptical Here

The Pros: The design of the footbeds and stride is ergonomic and I have no joint pain when using it. The levels have sufficient range for absolute beginners to pretty fit people to get a good, safe workout. When working it was very quiet (must have a gym mat).'''' Having an elliptical at home is the best. The cons: There are constantly major things wrong with it (3 service calls in 5 months) and I had it professionally delivered and installed. I am 110 lbs and the only person who uses it. It has now been out of use 10% of the time I have had it. The bolts/bearings on the pivot arm were broken, the flywheel belt and now the flywheel itself. Customer service is disorganized and slow to respond. They have many subcontractors all over who do the fixing and the level of compentency is very variable (2 out of 3 very poor). I would never buy this again nor would I recommend it. Check out reviews from Dicks Sporting goods and other sites. The longevity of this machine is not good and the quality is variable poor. 800$ is a lot of money to spend on 200lbs of something that I can''t use.
Helpful Info about ellipticals in general: You should be aware that ellipticals weigh ~ 200 lbs. You should not only measure length and width at the base to see if it fits in your space, but the height (low ceiling basements will not work with a tall person). Also the area around the machine how much room you want to the walls. I have a small space, but I wanted to be able to use weights to do upper body, so you need more arm spread .
New Kinetic Bike Bicycle Indoor Exercise Trainer Stand
That''s why it''s cheaper than all the other bike trainers available here, obviously.
This trainer is little more than a stationary roller for your bike wheel, providing only the resistance of the weighted flywheel. It offers NO variable, or increasing resistance of any kind, and little if any, wind resistance with that mi-nute circular fan!
I didn''t purchase this trainer myself but almost did when I went to order mine (the magnetic version of this same model by the same company, FDW). Don''t get me wrong, if very low resistance, low intensity activity is all you need, and u just wanna be active indoors, great. I just don''t like being fooled into ordering the wrong item because it looks almost identical to another, and the descriptions are not very distinctive for either version. It doesn''t state that it''s a "Wind Resistance Trainer" anywhere, and could easily be mistaken for the slightly more expensive magnetic version, which is the one I purchased. It uses variable "magnetic resistance" (currently the best cheap form of stationary bike technology available, unless u wanna spend upwards of $200). Considering I only paid about $80 for mine, it''s a great value, and it''s pretty effective!
Got mine yesterday, set it up 2day (in no more than 5 mins). Almost comes fully assembled, 5 screws, 1 bolt and ur good 2 go, simple. Mounted my bike in it, after airing my tires that is. Adjusted the roller snugly against my tire, as tight as could go. Got my workout on. I have smooth road tires on my Gary Fisher, "Mako" Mt. Bike, so noise is negligible. I was expecting it to be way louder, I live in a very thin walled apt and it''s not a problem. It''s everything I hoped it would be. It provides a great workout, esp. w/ the variable resistance. It comes with a handlebar mounted adjustment, levels 1-5, so u can not only switch gears on your bike, but also increase up or down 5 levels on the trainer. It''s very sturdy, looks well made, not flimsy. Theres also 2 little plastic "grommets" for mounting your bike axle into the screwtite clamping action of the trainer, which u may or may not use. Comes with all tools needed for assembly(allen key, sm wrench), except a phillips screwdriver. It arrived in about 2 weeks, lil'' longer than expected, but I''m pleased with it''s overall quality and performance so far. I work with metal and can attest to it''s quality construction, we''ll see if it lasts.
I used to use the recumbent bikes at the gym, which I find more comfortable, but to have this in my own home and 2 b able 2 utilize one of my own bikes at any given moment is cool, and I can be active while zoning out watching TV, or a movie, or reading...??? Excellent alternative to letting bike collect dust, esp. during bad weather..! I know it''s not the same as actual riding outside, but it''s a great complement to it, and can also serve as a warm-up before an actual ride..!!
Although I can''t comment on the specific product advertised here, only it''s near identical counterpart by the same makers (the only difference being the manual level adjustment, and the type of roller assembly), this review can be considered accurate for everything except the few differences. Their construction is likely the same, which is pretty good. Everything appears quality, I''m not disappointed in the least.
I''m very pleased w/ my purchase of an almost identical product by the same company. My point for writing this review is to help people not get fooled by too many shoddy descriptions of advertised products here. Only 3 stars because of this, more if an accurate description was included. :]After knee replacement surgery, I needed a way to bike. Avoiding having to purchase a stationary bike and utilize my mountain bike was the objective. This product did just that. Very sturdy, easy to assemble and easy to place and remove my bike!

This product was exactly as described and presented. It is stiff, rugged and easy to attach the bicycle. The flywheel is well balanced and very smooth running. The Fan is small (as shown and not surprising) and therefore not as effective for a reactive load as a larger unit.Read Best Reviews of New Kinetic Bike Bicycle Indoor Exercise Trainer Stand Here
After looking for a reasonably priced bike exerciser for a couple of years in the bike shops and sporting goods stores, I finally came to my senses and searched Amazon; voila! there were the choices I was searching for. Instead of being limited to $300+ metered, adjustable devices with multiple read-outs I found this simple adapter that just attaches to the bike and provides indoor exercise all winter. Easy to assemble, simple to attach, and it does the job. Effort, of course, is set by simply shifting your bike''s own gears and it''s really all you need. It helps if you also get a front wheel lift to level out the bike. Aside from all this the product is very sturdy and folds easily for tucking away; happy journeys to nowhere!Want New Kinetic Bike Bicycle Indoor Exercise Trainer Stand Discount?
