Adidas Men''s Climacore Knit Down Jacket

I have good luck with Adidas clothing and this is no exception.

If you just want style, this is well made and dashing. In white, the green logo and accents on the front are barely noticeable, the rear logo completely invisible, and the dark stripes bold and straight.

As to fit, I''m a large guy (not fat) and found mine on the tight side as to chest and gut (which means you may need to go up a size if you layer more than two tee shirts thick), long below the belt line, and long in the sleeves. Both the sleeves and bottom are very nicely cuffed, just elastic enough to feel and look good.

As to performance, my early evaluation is that this is more about covering your grungy layering in style as opposed to providing real warmth with the much appreciated benefit of not trapping moisture. For example, the first night out (I walk mornings and evenings), temperature about 40 F, strong winds, I wore it over a mid weight thermal and damn near froze as both allowed the wind to pass through to my skin. Next time out, same conditions, I wore it over a single, regular close knit long sleeve tee and it was perfect. Since then have found it to be excellent in light rain as well as cool and dry. Thermals if not windy, long sleeve closeknits if cold and gusty. The stand up collar is especially nice, comfortable and warm.

And, since what I wanted was something in highly visible white to wear over my assortment of well worn layering stuff, something that would not trap sweat, keeping in mind I like colder weather and rarely layer more than a couple tees or a single thermal, I''m a happy camper.

P.S. I don''t know why "down" appears in the description or exactly how "climacore" works. This is a knit track jacket with a soft satiny finish made of a breathable material which actually breathes as opposed to everything GorTex I ever purchased. It weighs next to nothing but feels substantial because of the material''s thickness or in technical terms (I think) the material''s weight.

Ordered this for my husband who is a tennis player. He wears it often in the spring and fall months. Fits him very well and keeps the light chill out.

Love this track jacket. To be honest I wear it more as a casual jacket and keep a separate grunge jacket for running. But this one is light weight, keeps me cool when I need to be, warm when I need to be and cuts the wind. Well worth the price.
