Stamina Seated Inversion

Stamina Seated InversionAfter severe back pain almost incapacitated me and I had constant numbness and twitching in my leg muscles, my chiropractor had me get an MRI, which showed degenerative disc disease 2 torn, bulging discs (mild stenosis of spinal cord and other minor issues). My doctor said I would need surgery if my leg muscles began to lose strength, and both he and my chiropractor suggested that I try inversion therapy and/or traction/VAX-D to attempt to avoid surgery. Having found that traction/VAX-D could cost me several thousand USD since it is not covered by insurance (even though unofficial evidence suggests it really helps), I opted to try out inversion therapy first. I bought the Stamina seated inversion table because other Stamina products have good reviews and I liked the seat feature (for ease of mounting and dismounting). I agree with other reviews that say that Stamina does not package their products very well (items were too loose in the box and washers were missing because of a hole in the single-layered hardware bag), but the product itself is good quality and solid when assembled. The limiter strap had been wrongly mounted, but it was easy enough to correct that.

The seat feature makes the table very easy to get on and off. Since you hang at 50-60 degrees by your feet, it is a little hard on the ankles at first (I recommend wearing shoes and pulling your pant legs down around your ankles) but, once you get used to it, it can be very relaxing (don''t fall asleep!). I usually play Klondike on my iPod during the 10 minute sessions morning and evening. Maybe after a week of using this table I started to notice that my numbness and twitching had vastly reduced and my back pain was not noticeable most of the time. I am sure this table has helped me. I don''t have any scientific proof to support this and it may just be coincidence, but even the psychological effect of doing something positive to help yourself is priceless in my mind. I definitely recommend this table to anyone in a similar situation to me. Well worth the money!

I helped my parents(who are in their 70s) purchase this equipment. My parents complained of lower back pain and were starting to slump more. They are very active for their age. So I talked them into trying this equipment -knowing I would get real feedback on if it works or not :). This was more of an experiment. First of all, this was easy to assemble I followed the instructions and had it put together in less than hour. I like that fact that one starts in the seated position and slowly goes back. For my parents I adjusted the slant to not to completely vertical upside down but enough to provide the inversion needed to not cause vertigo. Well, my parents used it daily (and they still use it) and at first my mother did not use it as much, but my father did (which I was surprised because my father was most skeptical). And after 3 months away, I went to visit again, this time my father who walked with a slump was more upright. And my mother started using it daily too after watching my father''s success. I have to say I am amazed at their posture! I would highly recommend this to a person with lower back pain. I am not sure if doctors recommend it, as they make more money with unnecessary surgery. I hope to get one for myself in the future, but since I am only in my 40s, I can do yoga to help more, but will probably add this to my fitness equipment in the future. I think this makes great equipment for seniors (and my parents promised to only use it while being observed by the other...it would not be good to use this when you are old and by yourself...might be dangerous).

I did not buy it at Amazon, but the price is around what we paid for it! I think this would be awesome therapy if combined with joint supplements :)

The chair is very comfortable and easy to recline in. Did take the two of us over 2 hours to assemble. I use it almost every morning and it helps relieve the back pain. It would have been helpful if it came with a manual suggesting how long you should invert.
