Marcy Deluxe Smith Trainer

Marcy Deluxe Smith TrainerMy previous weight bench was just a smith bench due to an old shoulder injury. Now that my shoulder is better I wanted to get back into benching free weights again. So when I saw this bench I could see that it had both options (free weights and smith). The other thinks I like about it are:

I like that the bench accommodates standard one inch plates.

The bench can be placed at a 90 degree angle for shoulder presses

Things I don''t like or would change:

The smith part of the bench is cheaply made. I normally squat ~200lbs. The first time I squatted with this bench I nearly gave myself a hernia! The guides that run along the smith bars are too short allowing too much play in the bar. So if by chance you do not lift the bar perfectly parallel to the floor it binds up completely! This sucks especially when you are mid squat with 200 lbs on you back!

I ordered new parts to hopefully alleviate this problem. But it''s been a month and I have still not received them yet. I called again and they say they are still on back order.

Also make sure you have space. This thing is huge. Takes up half a bedroom

The piece arrived fine enough, but there are LOTS of parts. I didn''t find it too difficult to assemble, but... if I were to do it again I would get a dozen Styrofoam cups and put the screws/bolts into them with the corresponding part number on the cup. There are WAY too many similar sized bolts. They are numbered in a shrink-wrapped container, but as soon as you open it they scatter. Trust me use the cup idea.

Also, I would give this four stars but the bottom right floor bracket was machined improperly. The bolt holes on that side are about 1 1/2 inch too far out from the back. I called the factory and they said they would ship a replacement. After two weeks I called and asked them the status and they advised they are waiting for the part and it could be another 8 weeks. Grrrr! Because of this the safety bracket does not fit on that side, which defeats 75% of the reason I bought this piece.

Also I wish that they had designed the resting brackets to be reversible. They only face out. So, (once I have the correct sized bracket) I will be starting my squats from the lower position instead of the upper position. Not a fan. Maybe I can fabricate something.... That is why I couldn''t give this 5 stars.

edit : A few years gone by. There is no way to easily fabricate a resting bracket for this device. The internal safety brackets are completely useless. Either get a better machine with a proper internal setup or get a cheaper one which doesn''t even try. Just don''t get this one.

The shipping & packaging was ALL jacked up. The first 2 boxes that came were smashed. Could not refuse delivery bc it was left at my front door. I opened it & a lot of screws were scattered. This made a bad situation bc the screws are taped to a piece of #''d cardboard. When the 3rd box came the delivery man had me take a look at the package. He said, "If I were you I would refuse this & call the manufacturer for a new one." Glad I listened to him. It looked like it was used as a trampoline. I called Amazon & was told they already resent a new one & it should arrive on blah blah date. That date happened to be the day I called. Confused as hell I asked, "So the company knew they sent a jacked up package & the replacement should arrive today?" The rep said yes. I told him that the replacement arrived & it was unacceptable & I wanted another. I was given a $100 gift card for the inconvenience & was told they would replace the replacement. (LOL)! I ended up receiving 3 new boxes instead of one which ended up being a blessing in disguise. A LOT of pieces and screws were missing from the original so I rummaged through the new boxes & got all the parts I needed. Imagine the nightmare I would have endured if they didn''t screw up by sending me all 3 boxes. Needless to say I have to send them the extras...or whatever is left seeing I had to use them. As for the machine itself..it''s AWESOME. As far as putting it together, not so awesome. I would take the advice of a previous post about using plastic cups & #''ing them. I''m stubborn so I didn''t. Would have saved some time. It didn''t take as long as people said it would in previous reviews. One person said 13 hrs total & another 9 hrs. I am not mechanically inclined, I fix people, not machines...anyways it took me 5-6 hrs by myself. Could have been faster if I wasn''t BSing around. Putting the pulley system together took up the most time, but even that wasn''t as hard as I thought. And one person is correct about the glide posts. It needs to be greased. Not a big deal. I do recommend this machine to whoever is interested. It''s a great price for what it does and I go to the gym every weekday and actually know what I''m doing. I work in physical therapy. As far as buying this from Amazon or whoever this ships through...HELL NO! Hope this review helps.

I ordered this smith machine in October. It is now March and I STILL do not have all the pieces. The original was delivered in November, but was damaged. The company told me they would replace the damaged pieces. Each time I call, I get a different story: they will come so and so time, someone will return my call and then never does etc.

Bought for $630 eligible for Amazon Prime.

Let''s be honest, complete home gyms with Smith Machines and Crossover Cables don''t come cheap. They range from $600 (this one) up to $2500. If you''re looking at this one, you''re scraping the bottom of the barrel, you''re extremely price sensitive, and wondering if a Marcy is as good quality as a Body Solid.

Shipping:

I see a lot of other reviews complaining about shipping. It comes in 3 boxes. One of them was handled perfectly, delivery guy came in with a hand truck and put it in the house where I wanted it. The other two boxes were in very rough shape. One of them had burst open and the side of the box was flapping as I dragged it into the house. The contents were jostling about inside, and I wasn''t sure if I had all the pieces. Generally a less-than-ideal experience. I started to file a claim online, but they asked if any pieces were missing and I couldn''t inventory without opening them all up, so I went ahead and unboxed all of it. It turns out that I did have all the pieces, but some of the hardware were scattered in the boxes instead of cellophane wrapped (and numbered) to the cardboard.

Assembly:

Definitely definitely do the cups idea! I put all my hardware in solo cups and sharpied the number on them. It would have been a nightmare without doing that. Some people here have said 8 hours, others 13. I took my time and it was probably 12 hours all total including unboxing, separating, parts, laying them out, throwing away plastic and cardboard, labeling cups, etc. Directions are a bit skiddish and hard to read sometimes. After a few hours you get to understanding their philosophy behind bolted joints and it becomes easier.

A few issues came up. On one of the supports, a beam was supposed to fit inside another. The hole was warped, so I had to use a dremel grinding bit to modify the shape of the hole for it to fit. Not a big deal, took 10 minutes to fix, but just be aware. Another hole had metal sticking up from where the hole was drilled and the metal prevented a beam from inserting into another. I had to dremel that as well. Other than that, assembly went well. In some parts it says Two People Recommended. It''s possible to do with one person with a little care and dexterity, and I''m 5''0" 100 lbs, but I''m sure two people would be safer.

Performance/Features:

Smith Machine definitely grease the guide rods with WD40. After that I don''t see any reason why anyone would need linear bearings. The action is very smooth and I experience no binding when using it for squats or presses.

Crossover Cables there''s a little more friction in the system than what I imagined. I would have liked to have a stack of plates with a pin in the back for convenience but for $630 all total, I can''t complain at all.

It lacks a lat pull down, and the bench doesn''t have an attachment for a preacher curl. The pegs for the weights are plastic and a bit cheap feeling/looking. With everything else being pretty good quality (metal), these are the only things I have to gripe about and it''s a little petty.

Value:

Compare this to the Marcy Diamond Elite with Linear Bearings ($1050). Linear bearings sound nice, but once the guide rods are greased, you won''t know the difference. Most power racks by themselves are $400-$500. With this, you get a bench w/ leg station, crossover cables, a fly station, and a seated row station.

If this system came with a Lat Pulldown and a Preacher Curl attachment and was $100 more, I''d get it. If it were $200 more and also included a stack of plates for the cables, I''d get that, too. The Gold''s Gym System is actually close, but it isn''t Amazon Prime eligible... so good luck with that shipping. ;)

Valeo VCL Competition Classic 6-Inch Lifting Belt

Valeo VCL Competition Classic 6-Inch Lifting BeltI don''t use it for weightlifting anymore, I use it for my bad back and it works great. It really keeps you from over-extending your back, this is not a medical device but it works great for me.

This is a good quality general fitness belt. I find it is difficult to get the belt really tight. (Like a powerlifting belt.) Granted it is NOT a powerlifting belt. The belt is comfortable to wear and easy to cinch and unhook quickly.

If i had to reorder this product... I wouldn''t. I may send it back too. The belt is "O.K".... It doesnt really have any front support for lifting nor does it secure by way of buttons or in a belt like fashion. Also.... They run a little too small.

I have back issues and bought this belt to use as a back support when working around the house and yard. It does make a positive difference. I believe it gives me better lower mid back support then a not as wide 4" back support belt. I have a 38" waist the X-Large fits well leaving ample room for growth..... It has a nice buckle that makes it easy to get the right tightness. Its made well and should last quite awhile. It''s also washable don''t know yet how well it washes.

I use it daily, not only for doing legs but also for benching and

Canari Women''s Aurora GEL Baggy Short

Canari Women''s Aurora GEL Baggy ShortWhen I bought this item one of the reviews said it was tight, so I ordered one size up, large instead of medium which I always wear. The liner is really tight, even one size up, but the short is oversized. Looks terrible!

I purchased these shorts because I didn''t want to wear the usual tight, stretchy shorts. I ordered my normal size but the waistband feels very tight, without much "give" in the elastic. The inside liner also feels tight and the leg openings ride up the thigh. As for the padding, it seems to help on the bike seat but since overall they are so uncomfortable, it is difficult to feel good in these shorts at all.

Okay one thing I have learned about these shorts, be careful when washing them. Don''t use a hot dryer. Just medium will do. They shrink a bit till I get them on and working out in them and then I can stretch them a bit while I am sitting. But overall I feel these are a great buy. And if you see them at a second hand store or a garage sale grab em!

These shorts are great for the gym.

I grew up in the 70''s and 80''s and a lot has changed in the gym since then, but I could never get used to wearing shorts that hang down over my knees.

They''re cotton, fit well and don''t get in the way that''s all I needed.

For a shorter man they hit about mid thigh and that''s best for working out.

Health Mark VF81003 Osci Stadium Whole Body Vibration Therapy Machine

Health Mark VF81003 Osci Stadium Whole Body Vibration Therapy MachineI purchased this item because of other positive reviews after having tried a much more expensive product which has variable frequency vibration at a large fixed amplitude. When I received this product (the one being reviewed) and assembled it per the instructions, I found that its vibrations were only strong enough to affect my feet and lower ankles. I likened it to standing on an electric razor (an exaggeration). The amplitued of the vibrations was simply not large enough to product the desired effect. The tip off to this was the weight of the unit (much, much lighter than I expected), and the power supply, which was about the size of a power supply for a laptop computer definitely not enough juice to power the vibrataions which the other reviewers claimed this unit could produce. After I and my wife tried it for about an hour or so, I boxed it up and shipped it back. Amazon made this return very easy. The next day I ordered the VPX 2000 machine for a price of $899 and am extremely pleased with this unit.

When I first ordered this item, I only half-heartedly believed it would do all the things that were being claimed it would do; however, I decided that for the price, if it only did half of what it claimed, I''d be happy with my purchase.

I have now had the Osci Stadium for a full month and I can''t believe how much it has helped me with my regular exercise program. I use many types of equipment for my daily workouts, and whole body vibration will be permanently incorporated into my routines as the most fun. It has helped my posture, balance, and flexibility; but most of all, it has increased my enthusiasm and feeling of well being.

I''d buy it again in a heartbeat.

This may be an excellent product for increasing bone density and increasing muscle, as well as helping heal sore bruises and sprains. I will get a bone desity scan in a year to know for sure about its ability to increase bone density! The shape and size make it more useful for a variety of exercises, including lying on the spine. The shape is why I bought it over any of the others.Health Mark VF81003 Osci Stadium Whole Body Vibration Therapy Platform

I used to belong to a gym that had a vibration machine that would give me a really good workout, with vibrations felt all the way up to my shoulders. I purchased this after much research, and liked that it would work with weights up to 300lbs. I stand 6 feet, 8 inches tall with an equal sized frame. However, when I received it, the top speed gave my legs to my thighs a buzz, but not beyond that. I suspect that it may be more appropriate for a shorter person.

I did like the larger platform size, but ultimately I chose to return it after three weeks of trying to find a reason to keep it. I have not given up on this, and will likely try the Medvibe NitroFit system next Medvibe NitroFit Personal Whole Body Vibration Platform A16814. It''s twice the cost of the Health Mark VF81003 which is a negative but I don''t believe what I''m looking for exists in the $400 range.

CONS

I must say I couldn''t be more pleased than I am with my vibration stadium. I use it twice a day for 10 to 15 minutes each time. I have severe pain from a number of sources including a twisted spine, osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia and I have chronic fatigue too. This is so easy to use even if I''m tired, I just get on it and feel better, there is no effort required.

I use my platform to stretch daily on it and am gaining flexibility. I''m in too much pain to stretch properly without it. I like to use it after a bath and that increases my flexibility even more while decreasing pain. So I use it the first time to stretch on and the second time I increase the vibration level and use it for some resistance strength training.

Because of the size, I''m able to lie down and place my entire back on it and that is one of my favorite positions. I highly recommend this to anyone for pain relief and for generally feeling better.

ProForm 280 CSX Upright Bike

ProForm 280 CSX Upright BikeProduct was very easy to assemble. Easy to use. The back display is hard to see and when the batteries go down, it''s impossible. I don''t like that I have to buy batteries for the bike to display, figured it plugged in. Seat is comfy, pedals are smooth and it is great for those who have knee problems! I would recommend!

Nice features and good quality. However, it is quite uncomfortable. It doesn''t provide an enjoyable workout experience due to uncomfortable seat and insufficient clearance between seat and console. Could use a redesign.

Pedals smoothly, electronics work well for changing intensity, fan is a nice plus, upright is much more comfortable than a regular exercise bike. Things that could have been better: Ipod system didn''t work correctly (it shorts out and sounds like its coming from a barrel), handlebars adjusting front to back would have been helpful, seat is not extremely comfortable I wish it came off like a regular bike and I could have put on a nicer one.

I bought this bike after reading all of the reviews and thought the price was really good for the quality of what it sounded like the bike was.

I was not disappointed when I received the bike. I put it together by myself (They recommend two people but it''s not impossible to do alone) and everything works great. I''ve probably only used it for about three hours as I received it yesterday but everything is working perfectly so far. The wheels are really convenient so I can move it around my living room without a problem.

I am a very feminine woman and was able to assemble this bike myself. I wanted to avoid the outrages assembly charge so I just simply rolled up my sleeves and read the instructions. The instructions were very simple and the pictures clearly outlined the parts to assemble. In the beginning there was a clicking noise when pedaling but it must have been the bike adjusting itself because it left within 3 workouts. It has been a month now and the bike gives a great workout. It has pre-programmed workouts or you can just start pedalling for the manual setting. I choose the manual program and increase the resistance to give me an excellent workout. If you need to cool down during your workout the fan works well. What''s great is that I can already see changes in my legs and that''s my goal. The price was excellent at less than $300 and it doesn''t take much space. I would recommend the ProForm 280 CSX Upright Bike to all.

Sunny Health & Fitness Magnetic Recumbent Bike

Sunny Health & Fitness Magnetic Recumbent BikeWhen I was deciding on a recumbent bike, it came down to this one and the Mary Recumbent Mag Cycle. I chose this one because it had a pulse reader on it. The only thing that I do not like about this bike is that when "scanning" between the time, distance, pace, total, and calories... it doesn''t go to pulse. You have to press "Mode" and then it starts to calculate your pulse. No matter if your fingers are already on the pulse, it will still start from 72 and take a minute or so to calculate.

Other than that, my husband and I have had great work outs on the machine. The tension knob is not numbered, but it tells you to twist left if you want less tension, and twist right if you want more. This is not calculated into your calories burned, which is another downside. However, I know the amount of tension I am comfortable with and as long as I get my hour in every day around a certain pace, I feel great about my work out.

It is definitely worth the great price!

We bought this bike (our second) for a small+light workout bike to place in front of the TV. I have to say that I am terribly disappointed with it.

For starters, it is a tiny bike. The seat is probably just 14-16 inches off the ground. Which means that even a medium-height person will find it difficult to sit on the bike without getting their knees jammed into the front console. Next, is the feel. It feels light and flimsy in general. While i would not expect a cheap bike like this to feel sturdier, this feels especially light.

But my biggest gripe is about the tension adjustment. It is NON-existent. When we set up the bike, there was no tension, even at the maximum level, so, we opened up the bike and readjusted everything (really, just a wire that goes into the console). While the tension went up marginally, it could not be adjusted at different levels. This results in a very very dissatisfying ''workout,'' if you can call it that. More like sitting and waving your legs.

This is the kind of bike you should never buy. Not on a budget, not because you need a small bike etc. In my opinion, something like the Marcy Recumbent Magnetic Cycle is probably much better, although just a few dollars more. I have that and am very pleased with it so far.

This bike, on the other hand, is just a big mistake that is now just sitting in my family room, annoying me.

Very easy to assemble, wonderful performance, comfortable seat, easy to use, and quality of the material.

I love using it in the morning (not evening, because I noticed it''s hard for me to fall asleep after the exercise). It''s very good for the knees.

This bike is adjustable you can control the tension and adjust the bike size to your height (make the bike shorter of longer). And, it''s not huge, you can keep it in any room it doesn''t take much space.

I''d recommend this bike to everyone! The big advantage is you can use it any time, in any weather, unlike the regular bicycles (I don''t mean it''s better, but more convenient for people who don''t spend much time outdoors).

Not too hard to assemble. Good for shorter people. I''m 5''1" and don''t have it adjusted all the way forward. Not sure how it would be for taller folks. The tension does not tighten very much. I may check my assembly to see if something isn''t quite right.

Powerline PCH24X Roman Chair Back Hyperextension

Powerline PCH24X Roman Chair Back HyperextensionAfter a lot of shopping I purchased this Roman Chair. It arrived well packaged and clean. The instructions were a little complicated, but not terrible if you are used to assembling things. You definitely need a set of socket wrenches and/or fixed monkey wrench to assemble it.... a ratchet is even better(adjustable crescent won''t do it, neither will a suregrip plyers. Nuts and Bolts are large and need to really be tightened for the chair to be stable and work properly. So if you don''t have these tools be aware that you will need to buy or borrow one.. I can''t remember the size, approximately an 11mm I think. Then it is stable, I am almost 5 11" and when I started using this I was nearly 190, and stability wasn''t a problem. If you have tightened all the bolts and it continues to feel unstable, try putting sandbags or equivalent weights on the chair''s feet, I did this at first, and it helped. The overall extension is good, but the rear bar to catch your ankles is a little short, its adequate, but if your coordination is off, tired etc, it wouldn''t be impossible to slip. I extended the bar with some pipe I bought for a few dollars at that hardware store, and its a little more secure. This was something I just did, but may or may not be necessary.

Its not the cheapest of these machines, but its close, and compared to what I have read and seen of others if you are looking for a simple home version of this piece of equipment, this is a reasonably priced, light duty version of one. I like it, and the price was right. If you want something more substantial then consider spending more money, but this is a good work out machine, stable, essentially comfortable, simple. functional. Hope this is helpful.

It comes with no instructions on use OR assembly, but the assembly is straight forward using the basic tools you probably have.

A word of caution. If you have existing lower-back issues (diagnosed or not), do hyperextensions with great care!

Harbinger 1215 Big Grip II Weight Lifting Gloves

Harbinger 1215 Big Grip II Non-WristWrap Weight Lifting GlovesBoy have I had a hard time finding a pair of weight lifting gloves! My previous ones were simple leather Saranac gloves, not much padding but they lasted for several years. The leather eventually rotted out forming huge holes. But I can definitely say that the Saranac gloves were awesome.

Now onto the replacement. I tried four different types of gloves.

Harbinger 143

Harbinger 1260

Harbinger 1215 Big Grip II

GoFit Diamond-Trac

The Harbinger 143 gloves were OK. They didn''t have too much padding, but fit very snug and were difficult to get off. Also, the fingers were short.

The Harbinger 1260 and 1215 were both unusable due to having too much padding in the palm and knuckle area. The padding is comfortable for pressing exercises (e.g. bench press), but makes it all but impossible to do pulling exercises (e.g. pull ups, curls, deadlifts, rows, etc.). You can try them yourselves, but save some money and take my word for it.

The GoFit Diamond-Trac gloves are the best of the bunch for my needs. They have a little padding in the palm, but not enough to interfere with your grip. They are lightweight, so I''m not sure how long they''ll last, but I''ll reserve judgment on that. They do make my hands sweat, because the neoprene on the back doesn''t seem to breathe well. They run a little larger in size than the other gloves. Also, I like that they have a finger tab to help you pull off the gloves.

Please be kind enough to indicate if reviews are helpful.

My husband used a pair of these gloves for several years while weightlifting three days a week. They finally were in need of replacement. He had saved the packaging from the original set to ensure he would be able to replace them with the exact product. He says they are the best weightlifting gloves he has ever used and states they they give him a very secure grip.

I bought these for my brother and he loves them. He really liked the padding, and didn''t think it was too much.

I don''t like these gloves. Padding is nice and thick which is good for pushing a bar, but too thick and non-pliable to get a firm grip on the bar, necessary for pulling motions.

Bowflex Xtreme 2 Home Gym

Bowflex Xtreme 2 Home GymI did a ton of research before buying the X2. I run on a treadmill 3 or 4 days a week (about 12-15 miles a week) and work up a good sweat, and my lower body is pretty lean. However, being almost 40, and not having trained with weights since high school, I felt I needed to start doing some weight/resistance training, particularly on my upper body.

Well, after 3 weeks, I can tell a huge difference after using this machine. I''m also glad I got the X2 instead of the X because of the ability to work out faster without pully changes.

I also have been able to gradually increase the weight so that I''m going to buy the two 50 rod extensions. I highly recommend this machine to anyone who doesn''t feel comfortable in a gym, and/or just doesn''t have the time to go. I have small kids and being able to hit this machine at 5:30 am when everyone is still asleep is a huge benefit for me.

As for assembly, it was fairly easy if you follow directions. The only difficult part was the pully system make sure you have it right as that is the backbone of the entire system. The pics in the instructions could have been a little clearer. Otherwise, bottom line is that this thing works and was a great purchase.

All five boxes arrived in relatively good shape... some punctures but not bad. The internal components are packaged in styrofoam so they are well protected. I decided on the Xtreme2 after trying out the Bowflex SE and the Xtreme(1). The Bowflex SE''s seat was very uncomfortable for me and didn''t have the multi-pulley system like the Xtreme2 so it would require a little more effort to move cables around. I would recommend the Xtreme2 over the SE for a few hundred dollars more. Setup took me about 4 hours, but I was moving at a slow pace so as not to miss any components. The instructions are pretty good. When assembled you can see that this is a real solid piece of workout equipment. Bowflex did a good job on it. Have been using it for approx a month and am amazed at the many positions that are available and probably lots more if you use your imagination. Highly recommend the Xtreme2 for those who know that this is the machine that they want. Serious bodybuilders should go elsewhere because the resistance is a totally different feel and I know the weights do not compare one to one for the Bowflex versus free weights. For anyone wanting to put on muscle and tone this is a great machine. If your sole purpose is to get "huge" you should get some type of power rack. I did call Bowflex three times with some minor questions/comments and they answered the phone within 15 seconds each and every time day or night. Great customer satisfaction. One last thing, if you are serious about working out and are fairly strong, get the 310 upgrade because it will make changing out rods much easier for you. Look around for prices too.

Also, one more comment... I purchased a 50"x60" rubber mat from Amazon for approx $49 and it is pretty nice but I don''t really think you need one for the Bowflex since it sits only on the four corner legs and nothing else touches the floor anyway. You probably could get by with some small size pads.

-Try one out somewhere before you buy and Good luck.

This machine is very well put together, and Xtremely sturdy. It took a friend and I two hours to put it together, so be prepared for that. While assembly was a bit trying, the end results are worth it. As a 40 year old man, I wanted to start working out again. I hadn''t worked out since my Memphis State days, and I didn''t want to join a gym. I have the 410lb model, and it will be all the resistance that I''ll ever need. As I said earlier, the motion is smooth and challenging. While the power rods do deliver tough resistance, it is not challenging as free weights. For example I can bench press 300lbs on my X2, but on free weights I can do only about 240lb. That is a big difference, and all the exercises are that way too. That being said, I still find the bowflex to be a great homegym and I''m getting the results I desire. I''m not trying to get as huge as a wrestler, but the bowflex is changing my body and adding mass. Don''t pay attention to the bowflex commercials, where the guys are ripped to the bone. That just won''t happen on a bowflex machine, and I''m glad they''ve started showcasing real people with real results. For the average man or woman, this machine will deliver. With around 100 different exercises and variations, you can target all your muscles:legs, chest, arms, abs, back, and shoulders. I''m very please with the 10 months I''ve been on the machine. Though its kinda pricey, its worth using my tax refund on it. If you are thinking about a homegym, the I highly recommend this machine. You should also upgrade to AT LEAST 310lb rods, because the leg exercises are pretty easy and you''ll need the extra rods. For guys, I think you should get the 410lb rods because you''ll see rapid results. I''ve gone from benching 220 to 300lb in less than a year. There are cheaper machines, and free weights will give you much better results. But if you''re looking for an all in one machine, that will last for years, then try the Xtreme2!

I wanted to write a review concerning the design flaw mentioned in the previous review. I to had this issue when I first got my bowflex and was quite frustrated...particularly when I read the review on this site. I decided to try turning the power rods around just to see if this worked and in my case it did. I had to unscrew each power rod from the base, turn it, ensure it locked into place, and then rescrew it back to the base. After doing this even the flimsy 5 pound rods no longer hit the cross bar. After doing this I contacted bowflex to see what they had to say about this issue. They informed me that they were working on a fix that would be sent out as soon as it was done.

My main reason for writing this was to make sure anyone else that had this issue and found this review knew that the issue IS solvable at least for some cases.

As to the bowflex itself I have only been using it for about a week now, but really enjoy the versatility as well as the action of the rods and pulleys. It is very smooth and easy to use and I would definitely recommend it for the average user. My roommate is a fitness guy (ex fitness trainier)....he worked out on it a few times and definitely felt that you could get pretty cut/toned with this machine...if you are looking for bulk look elsewhere.

This is last year''s model and is the same model as the Extreme 2 SE, but without the ab crunch mechanism. The thing is, you''ll save about $500 or more buying the Extreme 2. You can later add the ab crunch mechanism for $199 or buy the preacher curl addition for $139 on the Bowflex websiteif you want it or really need it. The Extreme 2 is also better than the Extreme or the Extreme SE. You have more position options for overhead and squat exercises. You also don''t have to change cables as in the regular extreme.

I put it together by myself meticulously over 4 hours. If I rushed maybe 3 hours. Get a friend to help you. Now, this is a good sized, sturdy, heavy machine, which does seem to hide in a corner well. It''s height is 6''11. The plus is that it looks great, better than my old equipment. Equipment needs to be pleasing to the eye so you want to go and use it often.

Buy a $20, four wheel dolly at a hardware store. I was able to slip it underneath and wheel it anywhere I needed myself. I will move it from the family room if I have a party.

Time and efficiency were the main reasons I purchased this unit without having to go over a thousand dollars. I also don''t have to have a spotter. I bought the bowflex weight upgrades and have maxed it out on squats. The feel is smooth and less stressful on joints. It has a different feel than free weights. I still have my olympic bench and free weights when I need a different exercise.

The upper back seat is ergonomic and wide which makes it very comfortable. I can watch TV nicely as I sit.

People who have come to the house want to get one and think it is "cool". It also has a great warranty.

Reebok Women''s Easytone Pant

Reebok Women''s Easytone PantSo I have ordered so many things from Amazon, but this is the first thing I actually felt the need to leave a review for. I just received these in the mail today and they feel awesome! They are super tight (they are supposed to be for maximum results) and really make me want to work out! And that''s saying something. I also bought the shirt and toning tennis shoes. I am short (5''2) so there is a little extra at the bottom, but since the fabric is pretty stiff (not in a bad way, it''s just thick), they do not drag. I think taller people could wear these without a problem too. Overall, I would recommend these pants to anyone who really wants a good work out pant. They fit great, feel better, work muscles even when you are not working out, and they really enhance your workout! What could be better than that!

These pants are great and comfy!! While I''m a size 2/3 and workout 5 days a week, I still get cellulite in my butt and legs. I have had the hardest time finding pants that will hide it. I FINALLY found them!! I love the pockets on the back as well. :)

I''m 5''2" and 140 lbs. I bought the medium and they fit great. Some reviews state too long but I like the length with my Brooks running shoes and just cuff them once. I bought them as I was looking for a compression running pant. However, all I found was compression tights and compression capris. As I have a little bit of a saddlebag bulge, I wasn''t excited about pegged compression pants. These are perfect compromise. My trainer of a year that I see twice a week and has never complemented me on my legs actually complemented me told me my legs looked skinny. I normally wear great Nike petite workout pants or very comfortable Champion pants from Target. These are my favorite now and I will be buying another pair. Well worth the investment...and since they have backpockets, would be totally cute to run around on the weekends for errands or such.

I wore these pants for biking this morning and was pleasantly surprised. They are flattering, and even though they fit tightly, they didn''t make me look bulgy. The big question in my mind was whether they would make a difference in my workout, and I''m delighted to say they did. The toning bands inside the pants intensified my exercise, by making my muscles work a little harder to go through the usual motions. The effect is similar to adding a resistance band to a regular exercise regimen. The resistance is slight, but if it was too strong, it would be exhausting to walk very far.

Other reviews left me in doubt about what size to order, so I called Reebok and got the following sizing information:

Waist measurement 24-26 inches: small

27-29: medium

30-32: large

33-35: x-large

I hope this information helps others get the right size. The pants are extremely stretchy, so if you''re in between sizes, I''d go with the smaller choice. Putting on these pants is a lot like putting on pantyhose they are skintight and if you don''t pull them up nice and high, they will tend to slide down lower as you move. I found it helped to pull some of the material from the ankle and calf area up higher, and continue working upward from there. Once I did that, they stayed put much better.

Overall, I''m glad I ordered the pants.

These pants are GREAT but I had to return mediums and order a large. I normally wear a medium pant in yoga-type pants (size 8-10). But they fit great form fitting but fine.

Danskin Women''s Convertible Tight

Danskin Women''s Convertible Tight,Light Toast,A/BDouble check you are selecting the proper size, I accidentally orderd A/B and I usually like to get the C/D.

These tights are really fabulous-and have the most comfortable waistband. It seems like they''ve redesigned these since I last bought a pair and they now have a built in heel. I don''t really like that, but it probably will help with runs.

I love these tights. They''re well made and the heels, toes, and holes are strongly reinforced. Very good quality, especially for the price.

These are infinitely better than the Capezio convertible tights (those are incredibly tight and restricting). I am 5''4 and weigh 120lbs, I ordered the C/D and they are comfortable. The toes and heal are reinforced which is also a plus.

this is perfect fit with my leg and l love it!!! it is reasonable price and highly recommended to you

Want Danskin Women''s Convertible Tight Discount?

I bought 2 pairs of danskin tights, and apparently they''re reinforced the heel and toe area. I know this because those areas don''t match the rest of the tight. I had a old pair without the reinforced heel/toe that I loved, but lost. So i bought these as replacements. They''re great tights but i used to wear them to dance and work. Now they''re only suitable for dance and the reinforced area is visible even in my ballet shoes. Surely they can reinforce those areas AND make them match!!

Pearl Izumi Men''s Select Long Tight

Pearl Izumi Men''s Select Long Tight, Black, MediumGreat tights. Look nice, feel great, and built with good quality. I wear them to run in when it is in the 30s and 40s. Cycling in the mid 40s to 50s. I am glad I ordered one size up XL. I generally wear a large, but decided to go with XL after reading other reviews. I am also glad I ordered the long version perfect length for me. I weigh 170 with 36 inch waist and 34 inch inseam. PI sets the bar on quality and comfort!

I got these for cycling, but I wasn''t that impressed. There''s no padding or anything, they''re just basic tights. I didn''t think they offered any advantage over the North Face tights I already had, so I returned them.

If you are 6 ft 2 inches and slender, these will work! Most are too big in the waist but not these. If you wear 30 X 34 pants, get these!

Bodyblade with DVD and chart

BodyBlade CXTI have problems with my right shoulder and duing physical therapy the therapist recommended this. It''s great for me. I have a hard to consistently doing the boring exercises to repair my shoulder, but with the Body Blade I can do them quickly and be done in just a few minutes much faster than doing all the small weight exercises they give me. It''s great for targeting specific areas.

It''s a small piece of equipment that kicks butt and gives your body a rigorous workout. I bought the 32 inch size since I am petite and have multiple injuries and knew it would be easier to handle. It has built up the muscles in my arms and neck so that I have much more strength and is compatible with my fybromyalgia and herniated discs. It is a great tool for physical therapy and I checked with several doctors who approved of its use. The product arrived promptly, was packaged properly and came with instructional video that was very helpful. I will eventually buy the next larger size as my challenge needs increase. Buy with confidence--it will not disappoint!

My physical therapist recommended bodyblade for my rotator cuff problem. I have been using it for three weeks and my shoulder is much better. While it could be the accumulative effect of exercises over the past several months, I am inclined to give credit to bodyblade. It provides a great workout in a short amount of time.

I had read some reviews that it was hard to get the hang of the Bodyblade, but I found that if you watch the DVD, it was very easy. I love this tool because you can adjust how challenging you make your workout. My teenage sons couldn''t believe how quickly they developed muscle definition and core strength when they started using the Bodyblade regularly. As a female, I had always struggled with doing a full push up on my toes but after a week of regular use I have can finally do a regular pushup! I recommend this product to anyone who wants to increase their core, build muscle definition and get a great cardio workout in a very short time.

I have been using this product for many years now. I ordered it when they actually had an informercial on T.V. I haven''t seen that commercial for years, but my Bodyblade is still my main exercise routine. I don''t have a lot of time for exercise, but with the Bodyblade you don''t need a lot of time to get a complete core workout. I do what they call the simple six and it covers all the main muscle groups (i.e. arms, chest, shoulders and abs).

I do this 3 or 4 times a week and run with the Wii fit for 30 minutes 5 times a week. People think I work out for hours at the gym and I tell them, I haven''t been to a gym in over 25 years. The Bodyblade is an amazing workout in under 15 minutes. Along with the above-mentioned aerobic workout, I get a complete workout without leaving the comfort of my home.

My friends first thought it looked silly, until I told them to try it. Trying it made a beliver out of them, because they all felt the pump you usually get from a traditional weight workout.
