Hydro-Tone Hydro Bells - Yellow - Pair

Hydro-Tone Hydro Bells - Yellow - PairI''ve used the bells for about 18 years now, having gotten sick of always being sore after weight training. There is no piece of equipment that compares to them. I have taught dozens of fellow gym members the proper use (that is, how to pour all one''s effort into an overwhelming total body workout for range of motion, cardio, coordination and POWER). Any person of any fitness level can use them: I have taught several fighters (one is ranked, I kid you not), a senior who rehabbed her arthirtis in 2 months and regained full motion and strength, a golfer who added 20 yards to his drive, and two powerlifters and one female bodybuilder who could not believe how they were tested by this simple product. In 2009 I met a man at the pool who weighed 370 pounds and could barely walk: in 9 months he was down 40 pounds on the scale and had at least 25 pounds more muscle and bone mass. Not only could he walk, he could RUN.

Do you want to get in serious shape? Buy them, find a pool, rent a Tai Chi video, and do those moves in the water. Hold them under the water and do cross-country skiing, moving thru the pool or remaining staionary. Hold them together and do cable-rows. Try Kickboxing, it rocks, like heavy bag work. Keep a good posture from your shoulders to your hips, extend your legs into a long stretch, and PUSH. Don''t bend over, LUNGE! (WHEN DOING TURNING MOVES, STAY ON THE BALLS OF YOUR FEET SO THEY CAN PIVOT WITH YOU. IF YOU HAVE YOUR FEET FLAT YOU WILL TWIST YOUR KNEES) CAVEAT: the enclosed instructions do not do them justice, and advise that you do not do back-twisting moves. This surely is to avoid liability. The whole advantage is that you can, with proper form, push the power in your legs, hips and core, up through your trunk and out through your shoulders into a workout that can have you doing over a THOUSAND reps per hour (I work at 1500) with all major muscle groups at once. The calorie burn rate is higher than water polo, over 2,000 cph. You cannot imagine the strength and cardio capacity this produces, if only you are willing to push yourself. GET THEM NOW.

I saw these at a spa, the instructor was teaching a water class. I asked her about them after the class she said they could not

be ordered anywhere, anymore. I checked out Amazon and there they were. They are a great workout in the water for you arms. I use

them everytime I am in the pool. They are sturdy and will last forever..........go ahead and buy them, you won''t regret it, but

you HAVE to use them to make them work!

Just got these a few days ago and finally got a chance to jump in the pool with them. I''m in my late 30''s and I used to hit the gym a lot in earlier days. I haven''t been there in a few years...so I figured this was a good way to 1) get a tan and 2) use the pool and 3) workout. I''m very familiar with gym equipment, resistance, workouts and weight training in general. My pool is a kidney shaped pool about 11'' x 32''.

These Hydrotones offer a lot of resistance. In fact, they seem to generate as much resistance as you can create. I was in the pool with the family and I was creating so many waves with these things that my wife asked me to stop. They''re extremely sturdy and well-constructed. I can see these easily lasting a lifetime which makes them worth the money. Besides, how much have you already spent on gym fees in the past? This is a one-time purchase.

The handle in the middle has a semi-soft, black velvet-like finish that makes it easy on your hands underwater. As far as size, I didn''t find them that big...but I''m also 6'' 1". I can see a smaller person being intimidated by the size. Throughout my workout, I never scraped my hands.

Once the family got out of the pool, I started the real workout. Here''s the exercises I was able to conjure up: bicep curls, triceps extensions, chest flys, reverse flys, rows, shoulder raises, shrugs and dips. I also did this one ab exercise where I held both of them together and, in a perfect semi-circle, moved them from my left side to my right side and back. It was like the path the earth takes around the sun except cut in half. That one worked my abs really well.

Once I got out of the pool, it felt like the old days when I went to the gym. I couldn''t swim any laps because my chest, arms and shoulders were shaking and exhausted form the workout. Thing is, it''s a completely different kind of workout. You don''t feel the same stress as the gym. It''s a fluid movement and it''s pretty cool to see the pool going nuts with all the force you generate.

Highly recommended for anyone that''s needs a good resistance workout. Got questions? Ask them in the comments.

17 years ago my boyfriend (who is now my husband) introduced me to this work out system. I lost 26 pounds in just a few months by doing a 30-40 min work out in the pool five days a week. 17 years later, we still use the same bells we bought back then and have since bought a second pair (both with leg pairs) so we can work out together in the pool. I rotate my work outs between a jog, walk, do elliptical, and swim laps . . . and on the days I swim, I top it off with a good 2-3 sets of Hydro-Tone arm/ab work outs. It''s unbelievable for toning my arms and my abs. I''ve now lost 70 pounds total and the compliments I''ve received on how great my arms and abs look at age 46 makes me feel wonderful! And they still hold up after all these years!

I was using the cheapie foam weights and they did a great job but wore out after one summer. I decided to purchase these as a replacement and I can tell you you will be impressed after you get use to them. I found them slightly cumbersome to use in the beginning but quickly adjusted to the much bigger size compared with the foam. Also word of warning do not over extend your arms when using them the resistance is very strong and you will hurt yourself. If you are serious about an effective water workout these are well worth the money.
