XMark Fitness FID Weight Bench with Arm Curl and Leg Developer

XMark Fitness FID Weight Bench with Arm Curl and Leg DeveloperI''ve been looking at all the FID benches out there and finally settled on this one.

Building it took about an hour, but you''ll need your own socket set to build it well.

Only issue with the construction is the lower back pad does scrape the underside bars, but after a minor reposition it was easily remedied.

I chose this over the XM-4417, because I wanted a full decline and independently adjustable seat.

First impressions are it''s solid construction, and the leg/preacher curl operates smoothly.

Padding on the seat, back and preacher are top class.

Will post updates if anything changes after more extensive use.

Good weight bench with lots of options. Assembely was very easy and bench feels very sturdy. Would recommend to friends.

Received the bench today. Taking it out of the box and assembling took about an hour which was longer then I anticipated. The product steel is strong but I have a few worries and complaints about it.

The bench fails to extend straight vertical for Military presses, it leaves you at sort of an angle even at the top notch. The notch''s used to support the back seem to be poorly welded. This is just from eye balling them, but could visablly see gaps in the welds which worries me for the longevity of the product. The leg curl which I wont be using on this anyway, could be better constructed, and has a plastic adapter for Olympic weights which I would not trust.

Those are the cons, but for the price I am more than satisfied with the product. Will see how it hands a 200 lbs man and over 200 Lbs of weights later this week when my Rack arrives.

Note: When assembling You need either a Metric Wrench set, or two adjustable wrenches and a specific Allen Key I did not have to place the Olympic weight adjustment on the leg curl stand.

I recently got this bench and put it together in about an hour and half. The instructions were easy to read.

The bolts and screws came in a separate sealed package with labeling. I appreciated that. So after using

the bench a few times I''d like to give it a fair 3 out five star review. It is not great, not solid, or

relate to some of the possible fake reviews on this product. Let me explain.

Construction:

------------

I took my time and put this together correctly. Not tightening anything until it was nearly completely

assembled. I suggest everyone do this as well, in case you put something in the wrong place. I was a bit afraid that some of the holes might not be aligned but I did not have this problem at all. Now my unit

is a supplement to a growing home gym. It sits on a concrete floor. The first concern is that when you sit

on it, it slightly wobbles. At first I thought maybe something was not tight enough so I double checked.

Then I was thinking maybe something was under the main frame. Nope on both accounts. The foam on the rollers

seems a bit cheap. Nothing horrible but you can tell. The caps on the end of the rollers are clearly cheap.

When I say cheap, I''m talking army soldiers in a plastic bag that were brought in a grocery store cheap. Very

cheap plastic. I am almost considering contacting Amazon about this alone. Spending $200+ on a unit, should not have any overly cheap parts. The seat covers are fine and I don''t have an issue with those. Now don''t get me wrong. It still works and I''ll use it. But I just suggest to everyone to raise an eye at some of the reviews saying this unit is "solid". You might want to check their review history to weed out a possible fake posting.

Workouts:

--------

Let''s talk movements first. This bench does not move smoothly. Now hold on, again I''m not saying it does not work. For example if you use the preacher curl it might slightly move to the right or left. You can still perform the movements but its something to keep in mind. So far I have been able to use the bench for some basic dumbbell movements with me sitting on it or laying down. The leg section works fine for leg curls and

preacher curls. Outside of the minor movement. It''s not huge but it is noticeable. Its like the molding groove was created too big or soemthing. As far as the decline section of this bench, it really can go down pretty far. Which I like in this unit. Before I bought this unit, I was having a hard time trying to find out if you can use it for say decline situp or decline say dumbbell presses. I looked on Amazon reviews, posted on Xmarks YouTube links, and finally emailed them directly. The final the response was very weak and didn''t really clarify my question. But in the end, they kept trying to push me into just buying one of Xmark ab benches. Which I felt very unprofessional. Be honest with your customers Xmark. No one likes dishonest selling. With that said, you can indeed use this for decline movements but you will need to put weight on the leg curl up section. It does not lock so you will not be able to use it without any. I put 125lb''s on mine and it works fine.

Overall:

-------

Due to the negatives I listed above in contrast that it still works, I''m giving this a 3 out of 5. So I feel

that I can recommend this product. Just consider what I have mentioned if you do buy it. If I had the

knowledge that I do now, I think I would still buy it again but I''m not sure. I might fish around for another

brand or wait for the price to drop a bit further.
