It has a nice mix of old and new moves, and what makes it especially unique is that Cathe inserts "cardio bursts" between some of the segments to shoot your heart rate up. I''ve always felt like some of her workouts (especially the "Leg Blast Premix" on Butts & Guts) have a good cardio factor, but this one is specifically designed to add in cardio.
The standing section runs about 44 minutes long and includes things like deadlifts, squats, and lunges. Many of the moves don''t even require weights, but you''re doing so many reps that your legs are just fried. After that, there is about 10 minutes of floor work that is similar to the High and Tight workout from Beachbody''s Brazil Butt Lift series, but with new variations that I hadn''t seen before.
The bonus leg conditioning segment was a really nice surprise in that it uses the Altus Athletic Altus Turbo Tower as a ballet barre to do a legs segment that is similar to Physique 57 and Core Fusion workouts. This is the first time Cathe has done this type of segment on any of her workouts, and it was great.
It also has five premixes:
1. Timesaver No Floorwork 49.31
2. Standing + Leg Conditiong Drills 66.31
3. Standing +Floorwork + Leg Conditiong Drills 76.38
4. Standing +Floorwork (No Cardio Burst)56.22
5. Standing + Leg Conditiong Drills (No Cardio Burst) 63.15
As with any of Cathe''s workouts, you do need a lot of equipment: a barbell, dumbbells in various sizes, a sliding disk (or paper plate), a high step, and a Turbo Tower or chair to do the bonus leg conditioning drills.
Do you need this workout if you have Cathe''s other leg workouts? Probably not, but it''s a nice addition and, if you''re like me and like variety, it will be a nice DVD to add to your workout library!Cathe''s videos provide a really good fat burning, muscle toning, heart pumping, endurance building workout. I have lost weight with Cathe before and I''m doing it again. I''m sure you will be happy with almost any of Cathe''s videos especially if you like at home workouts. Lots of her videos will require tools like a step, free weights, barbells, a big ball, sometimes resistance bands and a medicine ball but you will always need a good leather supportive pair of aerobic or walking shoes. Lastly if you visit collagevideo.com, you can see snippets of this and other videos of Cathe''s just so you can see the intensity, the fun, & what to expect.

This is one tough lower body workout. It''s very advanced and I loved every minute of it. Okay, so only an exercise fanatic could make such a claim. There''s standing leg work with and without weights, floor work, band work, barre-type work. This DVD has it all! What I especially enjoyed about this workout:
**it''s tough. Those one-legged squats off the small step and the hover squats really got me!
**the quick pace. Cathe moves quickly from one exercise to the next, with no down time. That, as well as the cardio burst, really keep your heart rate up there.
**the variety. I will never get bored with this workout.
**the wonderful premixes. The premixes give you every possible combination, from no cardio to all-inclusive. They offer both longer and shorter workouts. There''s something for everyone.
**room to grow. I more or less matched Cathe on the weights. I had to stop early on many of the exercises that used no weights. As I get stronger, I can see adding light weights.
Some things to note about this workout:
**the awful music. It''s just not my taste and to me, it sounds like whining, howling dogs. Thank goodness there''s a "voice only" option, so I can play my own music.
**Cathe doesn''t usually say what weights she''s using. I had to make an educated guess. I think she had a 25 pound barbell. I know we''re supposed to work to our own capacity, but it''s very helpful to know what weights Cathe is using for a guide.
**the many pieces of equipment needed. I was scrambling to pick up my barbell, get my gliding disc, or grab my dumbbells.
I only mention these issues for a balanced review. I still loved this workout and would recommend it to anyone wanting a tough leg workout.

I am a HUGE fan of Cathe. I have a ton of her dvd''s. Other than the new disc lunges, I found this to be one of her typcial leg workouts. It is very similar to Butts and Guts. I also wasn''t thrilled that she doesn''t let you know what weight she is using. If you already have her leg tapes, save your money on this one. I am holding out for her new sliding disc dvd that should be out in August. I am assuming that it will be all new moves, and not repetitive like this one.Cathe is one of the best instructors out there. She is safe and gets the job done. Great workout to have in your workout rotation.
