Exercise Equipment Floor Mat 3'' x 6.5''

I purchased this mat to put under a piece of exercise equipment, and it seemed to do fine. However as I re-positioned the equipment one part of it dragged across the mat. I immediately noticed that this dragging had scored a long tear in the mat, completely ripping through to the floor underneath. Admittedly the equipment is quite heavy, but it does strike me that the mat ripped awfully easily. So I would give the mat a good review but advise caution in any situation where the mat might get torn.

So the mat is 36.5 inches by 78.5 inches (so 3'' x 6.5'' but with an extra half inch on each). It is cushioned and compared to other mats of this style that you come across in a gym it feels like it has more give and isn''t just to protect the floor, but also to provide you a little cushion. for example, while taking measurements my knees left an impression in the mat like you would see in a tempurpedic commercial that returned to normal after 20 seconds or so. i have it on a hardwood floor and there is no slipping at all, it clearly stays put. it also has no smell whatsoever. it is only 5mm thick at best, however, not the stated 7mm (it might have even meant 3.7mm as 3.2mm (1/8 inch) is the thickness of other mats in this category). however, that is still thicker than the other mats of this type if you do some comparison shopping and in person it does in fact feel cushioned so i''m still going w/ 5 stars and am happy with it.

I own three of these mats. One for my bike, one for my treadmill, and one for my elliptical. My equipment is in the basement, and my primary reason for using the mats is for keeping dust off the machines. They do a good job of it, and I''m happy with the quality of the material also. There''s plenty of cushion in the material so if your desire is to use them on a wood floor they should perform just fine for you also. It''s a good product, and I recommend it to everyone.

I bought 2 of these hoping to put my exercise equipment on them to protect our wood floors. Upon attempting to place my equipment on the first one the mat ripped with incredible ease. I was not pleased as it allowed my equipment to scratch our wood floors. If you need an exercise or pilates mat...then this might be your product. If you need something tough and durable, then avoid this product like the plague. This product should not be marketed as an equipment mat.

I bought this mat to go under my treadmill. This was the first mat I had ever purchased, I read that it would help with the noise, static electricity, etc... It did do all I expected in those areas. Problem is the mat is not very durable. I installed the mat in March of this year 2011. After about 2 months of use, holes started to develop and I would have to adjust the treadmill. Now after about 7 months of use the mat is in several pieces. I use the treadmill on avg about 5-6 times a week for 30 minutes a night.
